So when I bought my bike from the dealership (2006 RSTD) it didn't have an owners manual. For my old Honda, the owners manual was a little book about 5" wide, 3" tall and about an inch thick. It fit on one of the side covers for the bike. This way if you were ever on the road and had a minor service issue, you could refer to the book. I never needed it, but like wearing an armored jacket and a helmet, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Anyway, I ordered the owners manual from Yamaha's site because I was expecting something about the same size that would slip right into one of the little pockets in the hard bags. I figured that it was worth the $$ to have the right sized manual that fit into the pocket (where I assumed the manual went) rather than print out the Owners Manual PDF that I could get for free online from Yamaha. The Owners Manual showed up today and I'm a little disappointed. Rather than being the little small booklet that would slip right into the pocket, I've got a book that's 8.5" wide by 6" tall and not quite a quarter of an inch thick. It won't fit into what I thought was the "manual pocket" and now I'm kind of bummed that I spent $30 on it.

Can somebody scan the pages of the cruise control operation from the owners manual? I have a scan from an 83 but not a Royale. The cruise on my 84 works fine but since I don't have an owners manual for it I don't really know the limitations. I did read here that it won't work over 80mph & I also read it takes a bit to engage (1 to 1.5 mile). Does it work in EVERY gear or just when in 5th? I finally have the bike running great with no smells or issues & the wife & I are making plans for longer road trips. Would be nice to know exactly how this thing should work. Andy help would be appreciated. -
Anybody here have any experience with r1150gs or r1200gs? I'm thinking about buying one just wondering what owners or previous owners think about them.

In the two years I've been a Venture MKII owner, I have not ever seen a set of these every for sale anywhere. Infact I think I've only seen them on 3 Ventures so far. So before I investigate the process to maufacture these, it would be helpful to know how many MKII owners would really be interested in a set. I've already collected some data on the dimensions. So if you are interested please post here. I will assume 1 set unless you specify more than 1. -

I have a friend with an 85 Goldwing, and he can't seem to Bleed the rear brakes. Any Goldwing owners have any suggestions?

fuses on top of the battery

Hello everybody. I've just bought a 1986 venture and i need to know what the five fuses on top of the battery are for and what size they are. There's nothing marked on the plastic cover or on the owners manual. I'm going to replace the old glass fuses with new atc ones Tks. Gus.... -
OK so I did my first work on my 2008 RSV. Oil change and filter. No problem! Spark plugs a diferent story. According to the owners manual and the Service manual easy to do, just pull the plugs, well I could not figure out how to get to the front 2 plugs. Did a search here and I have to remove the gas tank. Also in my owners manual it says I have an Auxiliary DC Jack and terminals. The terminals are right next to the battery, but I cannot find the jack. Anybody? Conclusion: Owners manual kinda sucks, service manual not much better. This site has way better info. By the way, used Purolator Pure one oil filter, and Risolene 4T semi-synthetic 20-50 oil. I am going to have the dealer do my carb sysnch this time because I just dont have time, but the next one I will do a search here and try and do it myself.

I want to make a switch to Rotella T6 but I can only find it in 5W-40. The owners manual says 10W-xx is the minimum for the lower viscosity. Is 5W-40 OK?

Ok I looked at where the thermostat is in my 86VR and it looks like I have to take the front exhaust off does anyone know how to change it easy my owners manual just shows the thermostat not how to change it.

Got my new-to-me Corbin dual touring seat today!! Wooohoooo.... haven't taken a ride with it yet but that will happen very shortly! Bought this used Escapade today, '06. First time trailer owner and looking forward to taking a trip with it. Have a cross-country trip planned for end of June, but will have to try something sooner. Any tips from trailer owners for newbies?

Is Castrol 75-90 synthetic oil good for the rearend on my RSV? I don't have an owner's manual but I think that it should work ok.....?? Thanks........

Took a 3 day trip up to the NC-Tn mountains last weekend and met this guy and his wife up on the Cherohalla Skyway. We sat there and talked for maybe 30 minutes. Real nice couple. They are from Kentucky. I invited them to join us on this forum since we are having a lot of GW owners and a new segment for "Wingnuts" . If any of you live close by them, tell them I said "hi" and encourage them to join us. BTW, he said his Honda GW Quad was one of only 7or 8 in the US, he thought.

Sorry Girls. Letting some of you down by not being on here helping with the men. Things have been crazy at work. New owners took over March 8. Little General out of Beckley WV bought all 4 stores that our owners had. Been going though alot of changes. We now sell beer. Replaced all shelving. Totally changed the store in the inside. I am currently considered the 1st Asst Manager. They bought the manager up from the BP which they also own to manage both stores. Been seeing if I am going to like it enough to stay. Can say that I am watching Schedules etc. This week I do not like what I am seeing. The first couple weeks was ok. Say some Prayers Please. It is depressing when you sit down and see that you have been cheated out of promotions at least 6 times and you know how much work you have put into it.:bawling:Are the moods that I am feeling. Could use some time with the FAMILY and on the bike.

I'm trying to buy an owners manual for my 1989 venture royale and the site is asking me if it is a XVC13DW or XVC13DWC model--anyone know the difference and how can I tell the model I have????
