Need a windshield and lucky to be alive... (Anderson, IN)

Sounds like everything's working out and like Dan said, didn't mean to hi-jack the thread. You didn't start anything. I don't think there's any animosity in the spirited discussion we've had. Dan (rightfully) has a reason to be upset with his insurance company. I hope he comes out a winner in his situation and wish there was something I could do to help him. -
If that guy's shirt were any shorter and we found he didn't have shorts on under neath, then yeah, he should be arrested !!!!

Really awesome that he stepped up like that too. I also think it's great that he's been able to establish his business after the loss of his legs. I love seeing people who don't expect the guv'ment to take care of their every need.

I called my local state farm branch. That is what they are saying. Maybe a call to the corporate office is in order, but I would like the names of companies that don't raise your premium a dime whether you submit 1 or even 100 payable claims. Whether it be home or auto. State Farm is also the company my niece has been having to deal with. Not many agents would tell you this, but your local agent is judged by his company (ies) on his loss ratio. Many of them will try to encourage their insured's to not file a claim by telling them it will result in a rate increase. Check with the company itself. Was your loss an "at fault" accident? I don't agree with that line of thinking, but it happens. -

I don't think there is any doubt in anyone's mind that your vehicle and medical bills after your 2 wheeler wreck should have been covered completely. I will not argue that point. -

Dan, I've followed your saga and I feel for ya. Yours is definately one of the horror stories out there. Just like there are horror stories about prison guards and what they have done. But that doesn't mean that all of them are that way. I know that there are guards that do it the right way every time and are upstanding and outstanding in their job. Same with insurance companies.........And I'll look forward to and accept that first round and take care of the second........... -

I'm not going to get into another big debate about insurance companies and claims and I'm not mad, aggravated or ticked off at anyone or etc.... But to make a claim as stated earlier is simply not true... Dan, I hate that you have been through this ordeal, really I do, it obviously was not handled properly nor were you represented properly. But I handle claims from minor to severe on a weekly basis. I've seen companies pay out thousands upon thousands of dollars without so much as a question. There are guys on this forum who have had their property repaired and their medical bills paid to their satisfaction. My point is that you cannot use one bad experience and catagorically state that ALL insurance companies strive to rip you off and not pay in the event of an accident. If the policy says they are liable, then you have a case and the Insurance commissioner from your state is the correct path to getting it taken care of. And to the one who says their rates are going up as a result of a claim. Are you sure this is what is happening. Did your agent tell you that or did the company. That is not always the case and it does depend on the company and their philosophy. Nuf said, this could be debated all day. I'll never convince some of you, but just like every other line of work out there, there are the good (reputable) and the bad (rip offs) You guys ride safe & look forward to meeting you face to face some day. -

Yep, we always take a hard look at how we've been inconvenienced & never think about what their circumstances may be. Good post

Come on Boomer, I thought we were going to hear something "Inspiring" from you on this one. You can do better!!! I'll just wait for it.............

sounds like I'm gonna have to spend some time figuring this stuff out so I can have it all loaded for the coming riding season. I bought an 8gig sd card for it the other day. That should hold a couple of thousand songs.

I've just purchased a Nuvi 780 which has MP3 capabilities. I was just wondering where most of you guys got your MP3 audio from. I have well over 1000 songs in Itunes, but it is my understanding that those files will only work on my IPod. Is that correct. I've tried Limewire, but that stupid thing carries lots of bugs and really slows the puter down as it wants to run all the time. I'm sure there has to be a good place to get the songs I want.

SilverT has inspired me to pick the guitar back up. 185# is my weight goal.

I was checking out the "More" link under the mini stats on the left. Over 12,000,000 (that's million with an M) total thread views. Amazing. If I were a motorcycle company, I'd be paying someone to surf these sites all the time. Hey, maybe I'll apply for that job.

This is a photo of me and the wife (I'm in the bigfoot tshirt on the left) along with two of my brothers and their wives up on Mt. Magazine in Arkansas. That's my "little" brother on the far right. He rides a yammie v-twin, but thinking of going to the venture.

He makes a cable that works on the GPS audio out. So that you can hear the spoken directions and MP3 player through your headset/intercom system.

I love the looks of the Kaw, but that's about it. I'll stick with my millenium.

Heck no! 9 degrees this morning in southeast missouri.

I was following a semi a little too closely in my younger (dumber) years in my pickup and he ran over a gator that was about 4' long. This thing flew up in the air and struck my grill just below my hood. You would have thought that I had run head on into a concrete pole. Taught me a valuable lesson. I steer very clear of semi's when I'm on the scoot. I can't imagine what would have happened if that thing had hit the middle of my fairing.

Well to add to your confusion, I just bought a Nuvi 780 on Tiger Direct. Check them out. They run some pretty good specials all the time. Seems like it's gonna have all I'm gonna need. Blue tooth, MP3, etc. Just need to get the cable from Buddy Rich & I'll be all set.
