  1. After a couple of incidents in the last couple of weeks, one involving a friend of mine, I thought I'd throw this out as a reminder of the rules and standards involving the other end of the motorcyling world. The Clubs. This is most certainly not intended as a post to incite arguments of right or wrong or who has what rights to do what. It's just a reminder that another part of the motorcycle social structure is different from what most are used to. But in my opinion, everyone of us needs to be aware of the rules they live by. We all expect a certain amount of respect, some demand it. The lack of respect to a club or even a single member has a price and it's not cheap. My friend found out the hard way. He's learning. He was not trying to cause problems and had no idea that he was causing one with his behavior. But with that said, this is worth a read for those unfamiliar with club rules and how to respond to club members and interact with them. Might save someone from getting schooled..... the hard way. http://www.rcvsmc.net/id4.html Just info. Nothing more. Mike
  2. Support our troops, and don't get this thread deleted, please. Show some respect for these guys.
  3. To anyone who is or was a fireman/firefighter, my hat is off to you. I've just completed the helicopter crash rescue phase of my tech course in the navy, and it has been the most physically intensive course I've ever been on. I'm aching in places I never even knew I had! I also don't fear fire like I did before, I still respect it, but don't fear it. I also have a newfound deep respect for any firefighter who is putting their life on the line, either professionally or as a local volunteer. Thank you all!
  4. I picked up yer NEW chromed trunk rack this morning from the Dealer. Yammi ate the $500+ Bill for this one Bro. Regards and respect.....Boomer

  7. I spent this last weekend with a group of Valkyrie owners in the Prairie Du Chien, WI area riding some really awesome roads. I ride with this group often and always ride at the back as designated sweeper. While I still miss the '98 Valkyrie Tourer I owned a few years back (when I initially met these folks), my satisfaction and respect for this RSV just continues to grow. I just can't think of another bike I'd rather own right now. 47,000 miles over the last two years and going (very) strong. Thank you all for the tech articles and camaraderie. I visit here daily. Ken
  8. I was lucky enough to go to florida for a few days to spend some time with my parents in a warm climate. while visiting them (they live in a 55 and over community) my dad and i went for a walk to show me around and i saw a first Gen RSV so i stopped introduced myself and started to check this bike out that seems to be the rage here in our little community. So after talking to Roger from canada for about 1/2 hour he tossed me the key and said take her for a spin.. now i was a little hesitant about riding another mans bike but couldnt pass up the opertunity..so 30 min later i rode his bike back. i really liked this bike not enough to trade my second gen for one but i do have a new respect for them. oh i also told Roger about this site and invited him to join and i hope he does real nice fellow.
  9. i'm not a moderator here but just wanted to say my piece. seems like alot of the threads on here start on a mild politcal theme, or some how turn into one. now we all know everyone has their own opinion and no one is going to give an inch. it is impossible to have a politcal discussion with out it going to the dogs, and eventully getting deleted with some hard feelings left along the way. this group is to good to fall apart over politics. there are people on here i don't agree with but i still respect their opinion and i hope they respect mine. what i'm trying to say is why don't we keep our political opinions on the economy, unions, and politics to ourself and get back to motorcycles, and other clean, neat topics. i have jumped on some people that i don't agree with out of temper and i am sorry i did cuz it really bothers me. we are all friends on here, and i sure would like it to stay that way, there was one really bad post and i don't really remember who it was but he had his opinion and it got deleted. still he is one of us and thats what it's all about. if i am out of line here to bad, but i do hope everyone agrees. snarley bill

  11. A very respectable man passed away today. Charlton Heston served the NRA for many years. I just wanted to pay respect to a man that influenced me greatly. He will be missed. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080406/ap_on_en_mo/obit_heston
  12. To All My Democrat Friends: Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but n ot without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee. To My Republican Friends: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
