  1. when i bought this 88 venture last week i mentioned that it had a loose front end i changed fork oil, and this solved the right side oil leak that i had, but still had a very bad shimmy at all speeds when i released pressure on the handle bars, severe enough that i was afraid to ride it. the bike also needed tires and i opted for dunlop elite 111s, as this seemed the tire of choice on the forum, i use dyna beads in my roadstar so thats what i used in the dunlops and guess what?absolutley no shimmy or vibes from the front end, and the mirrors are clear. Frank
  2. Another way we can help St. Jude is by using the search engine at http://www.goodsearch.com. Every time you use it, it will donate to your charity of choice, of course everyone knows what my choice is. Check it out.
  3. Is this battery still the best choice? The connector looks like a side mount. My OEM is a top mount. I can get one locally from East Penn for $165cdn. I need to replace my battery and research on here seems to point to the Deka as the best choice, mind you most of the info is a few years old. Thanks.
  4. I have just ended the last 5 St. Jude auctions for the last items. When using PayPal please insure that your 1st choice of shirt size is listed along with a second choice, sizes I dont have are Small and XLarge. There is and underscore in the email addy.... partin_guy partin_guy@yahoo.com Winners are........ 1.PKtexas...............2 pins........$15.50 2.Carbon One...........Shirt..........$16.00 3.Sleeperhawk..........Shirt & Pin...$15.00 4.Coles Grandpaw......Shirt & Pin...$26.00 Thanks to everyone for your support. 5. Heads up Toronto. I have a package that I need to ship to a customer up your way. It's about 25# and 18x18x24 in size so this time around USPS is not possible. What's the better choice between UPS and FedX?? I understand UPS can get you on agent fees. Is FedX the same?? Thanks for any advice.
  6. Found this sample Citizenship Test today. Mighty interesting and not as easy as you might think. The 96 question multiple choice takes a few minutes. The correct answer to each is displayed immediately. http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2011/0104/Could-you-pass-a-US-citizenship-test/Who-signs-bills
  7. INTERESTING OBSERVATION 1. The sport of choice for the urban poor is BASKETBALL. 2 The sport of choice for maintenance level employees is BOWLING. 3 The sport of choice for front-line workers is FOOTBALL. 4 The sport of choice for supervisors is BASEBALL. 5 The sport of choice for middle management is TENNIS. And.... 6 The sport of choice for corporate executives and officers is GOLF. THE AMAZING CONCLUSION: The higher you go in the corporate structure, the smaller your balls become. There must be a ton of people in Ottawa playing marbles! O0H YES !!!!
  8. Since it is taking too long to auction off all the t-shirts I still have for Crusin' for St. Jude Children's Hospital, I am going to offer them up first come first serve for a minium donation of $10.00 per shirt plus $5.00 shipping, of course you can make a larger donation and I wont refuse it. Sizes are limited ranging from Med to XXXL. If I dont have the size you request I can substitue another size, so give me your first choice size and a second choice if I am out of the first. Please do not use this post to make your donation , please use the PM function!!!!!! Do not send any money to paypal till I verify I have what you want, then I will advise you when to send it and give you my new paypal addy to send it too.
  9. If all of the eight desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose - assuming you had no dietary restrictions - (sorry, you can only pick one)! Pick your dessert, and then look to see what psychiatrists think about you. REMEMBER - No Cheating. Make your choice before you check the meaning. Here are your choices: 1. Angel Food Cake 2. Brownies 3. Lemon Meringue Pie 4. Vanilla Cake With Chocolate Icing 5. Strawberry Short Cake 6.Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Icing 7. Ice Cream 8. Carrot Cake No, you can't change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully about what your choice will be. OK - Now that you've made your choice, this is what the researchers say about you..... SCROLL DOWN--- 1. ANGEL FOOD CAKE -- Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times. 2. BROWNIES -- You are adventurous, love new ideas, and are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal. 3. LEMON MERINGUE -- Smooth, fun, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent caregiver and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, you set your own style because you do your own thing. You shine when it comes to helping others and have many friends. 4. VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING -- Fun-loving, sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lacking motivation.. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad.. However, you are a friend for life.. 5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic , warm, loving. You care about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. You can be very emotional at times but a true person in every way. You like to do things for yourself and help others learn about themselves. 6. CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING-- vivacious, always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life.. Love to laugh. 7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports... You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance. 8.. CARROT CAKE -- You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends. You were meant to lead and teach others. A wonderful role model.
  10. There have been lots of discussions on the best oil to use, and every one has an opinion, but very few has said why they think their choice is better than anothers. Just what do you look for in your oil? Is your choice based on independent research reports, personal experience, smoother shifting, price or (like me) just what my daddy used? With so many opinions on oil brands, surely there are good reasons for making those choices.
  11. Just can't justify (a camouflaged verb for poor and almost broke) the Zumo 665 with all the nice radio, weather, traffic and etc. Is there a simple replacement for my tape deck that will allow me to plug in a USB flash drive thats loaded with my choice BLUEGRASS??? I have been using my MP3 player but the cord and dead batteries are an issue. Just:fishin: for a :dancefool:solution so I can with a :301:Freddie.
  12. decided i want to retire again so i'm doing a major down size to 2 or3 bikes. after i get rid of my zx14, i think the wing is going to hit the road. my ultimate goal is to end up with my v-star 1300, majesty scooter, and nomad. any one want a choice wing with all the goodies keep mine in mind. it's one decked out beauty and the price will be right. bill
  13. Second choice painted to match? I would have to figure out a backrest for it but its brand new.
  14. My 07 RSTD is red over black..but I seen the black over red? Is this a choice preference or is it the year the bike is? Just interested. Mark
  15. what is the best tire for the money to put on 1st gen?, somebody told me the M E 880 is this a good buy? thanx.
  16. The time has come to place my order for Dragon/Vogel t-shirts. I have finalized the design and just need to leave the rest up to the members attending, so if you plan on attending Vogel you have two things to do, first I need to know sizes especially if you haven't registered and given me that info already, second is which color you want, in the past we have had, grey shirts, black shirts, and maroon shirts as I dont wont to duplicate any shirt, I want each year to stand out on its own merit. Below you will find a sample of each color I have chosen and the design on the front, the back will remain secret until Aug. 12. So please let me know what color and what sizes you will be requiring especially if you don't plan on pre-registering. If I already have your registration you can pm me with your choice. For those that don't submit their choice, I will have extra shirts available at the registration table, they will be available on a first come basis, and if you are bringing your kids and want shirts I can get them in youth sizes but. I must have this info before I place the order.
  17. Hi, I want to replace the H.T. leads to the spark plugs on my '84. What do I need to ask for at my local auto parts counter? I notice that one local supplier (not usually my first chioce) has a selection of pre-made NGK wires on the shelf. Is there a ready made NGK part that would be a good choice? Prices across the range he had were about $22 Cdn / wire. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks, Brian H.
  18. Okay, hoping you all can help a friend of mine over here in Oz. He has a Goldwing 1500 with (wide) sidecar and wants to put a car tyre on the back wheel. What is his best choice for this please?????????????????:puzzled:
  19. Getting ready to put in a new Big Crank. Going to do the resistor mod as well to turn off the warning light. Went to Radio Shack to get the resistors and they had a choice of 1/4 watt and 1/2 watt in both 1k and 2.2k-Ohm. Does the voltage make any difference? Kevin
  20. This has been a tough week, I had to put "Granny " Down Tuesday night.... it was really tough to do, but she was old and had layed down and couldn`t get back up on her feet, so it was the only choice I had, and it was the right choice. Oh BTW... Granny was my 31yr old Quarter Horse.. She would meet me at the gate every morning and every day after work.. I still catch myself looking there for her, and this may take some time to get over.. any way, It helps to share.. Thanks, K
  21. It's time to replace the battery in the 89. I do a battery replacement every three years buying one a year. The 84 got one last year and the 99 gets one next year. Battery life is usually over three years but this is part of my maint schedule. My choice has been to find a bargin battery. I have tried various offerings from Walmarts powermax, Tractor supplies champions, Kmart sells the sears die hard reasonable. I really have no complaints with any of them. $55 for a battery is not a bad price and no shipping charges or driving out of my way $$$ to find one. I know the Oddysey 680mj is probably the number one choice among riders and I understand the extra CCA it has. Also no Oddysey dealers anywhere in WV. Is it really worth with shipping three times the price? Can I expect 9 years of service instead of 3. Most of my riding is above 50 degrees so cold weather starting is not an issue. My next question is has anybody tried one of the maint free AGM batteries?

  24. I wont tell you what it is about, accept that it is related to motorcycles and nothing like the Nigerian thread in the past but it is quite funny and the biggest ripping (Seriously poor guy) at the same time. This particular thread has been all over the world. You will see what I mean as you read it. Before you click the below link, I want you to know that there are a few choice words used on a few posts (Not many really) a couple of PG pictures and maybe one R picture (I saw no nudes). http://www.zxforums.com/forums/zx-6r-forum/14462-fi-light-need-help.html
