  1. as some of you know I was having some troubles with things about a month or so ago. times where tough. well today my landlord came to me and said we are giving you a Christmas gift? you use to deliver newspapers to us for over 8 years. and we just never really gave much back then when you stopped in. so we thought you might like a nice slightly used gas dryer and washer. about 4 years old in good working condition. as they bought a new set for there place. I have the hook ups here to do this in my place so I said heck ya and thank you so much. they said where not done yet? we are giving you $100 off of next months rent as well. then for a joke they gave me a fruit cake. I think they had for like 15 years LOL I am just so happy that they thought of me in this way. just thought I would spread the good news.
  2. I was doing som planning for a trip here in a few weeks. I was at the Tenn DOT site and a warnig flashed up. There was some kind of land slide in Tenn on I-75 and the road washed out. Last night it said there was one lane open each direction now. Expect long back ups. Mile marker 141 to 144. I know we dont like to run the slabs but sometimes its a necessary evil.
  3. Anybody else having trouble not being able to get Leather Ups web page to work. try this and see if it works for you http://www.leatherup.com/
  4. Heads up Toronto. I have a package that I need to ship to a customer up your way. It's about 25# and 18x18x24 in size so this time around USPS is not possible. What's the better choice between UPS and FedX?? I understand UPS can get you on agent fees. Is FedX the same?? Thanks for any advice.
  5. DO NOT ship by UPS ALWAYS ship via USPS (United States Postal Service) The reason's are: 1. UPS rates are generally higher 2. If sent by UPS ground, it generally takes longer 3. If the value is over $20, we get dinged brokerage fees when we receive the package as well as tax on the value. 4. If you can't be home when the package arrives, you have to wait for the 1st delivery attempt and then either go out of your way to their location to get it or have the delivery location changed. The latter cannot be done until AFTER a 1st deliver attempt is made. If you send via USPS, none of this applys. Why do I post this? Because I bought an item off a member on another forum for $65 + $15 for shipping and got dinged $35.71 after the fact for brokerage fees ... add that up and it's really not worth the purchase. What's worse is that UPS assured the sender that there would be NO ADDITIONAL fees. I f****n HATE UPS coz they have done this to me before.
  6. Those of you looking at HD pipes, looking for slash down style. The 2011 Road Glide Customs are slash down. No I am not looking at getting rid of mine. But I thought I might throw that out there if people like that style. I like them better than any others. Most that I see are either straight cut, or slash ups. There is a pic in my profile pictures that show the pipe enough so you can see what they look like.
  7. A kind word for some guys in Hollister Mo....If you ever blow a clutch in Branson Mo on a Saturday night give the guys at Hollister Cycles a call....went out of the way to get me back up and running.....AND they work on Mondays..... TRIPOD: I'll send you some info when I return to FL on the set ups I have tried with my Tri-Wing/RSMV....tires/air settings and such....after 61K miles I might have most of it sorted....
  8. Anyone know where a fella could pick up an inexpensive used shift lever for the 2nd gen? I need to pick one up so I can modify it by removing the rear heel part of the shifter. I did find a shop in the USA and all parts together costs $73 (bolt washer and cover) but they want $89 in shipping UPS.. nice.. never user UPS.. sigh. So.. if ya know where a lad can find such a part, used, grungy I don't care, let me know. Problem I have is that the inside seam of my left pant legs sometimes catches the heel part and I have the feeling of getting my leg caught up and not being able to free it in time to put my foot down when coming to a stop. I don't want to modify my existing shift lever just in case I injure my toe or what ever and will actually have to use the heel part for some dumb silly reason.. (No, I have never been able to get used to using the heel / toe shifting method...)
  9. Was no big deal to pull the wheels off my old Nomad. is there anything I should be aware of? Any little write ups? thnx
  10. Got a couple estimates today to ship some parts (2 boxes) and was in sticker shock. To give an example, one box was 37 x 25 x 11 and actual weight 14 lbs. They put on the estimate 53 lbs billable weight for a cost of $36.50. I went to usps.com and it says $68 for 5 day parcel post. I reduced the dimensions to see if it would give me a different cost. Narrowed it down to 36 x 24 x 11 and it gave me $17.00. Apparently 1" on 2 of the dimensions makes a difference. The other box, UPS estimated cost of $33 and usps gave $17.00 for 5 day parcel post. I am guessing UPS is charging by billable weight and not actual weight? Anyone know?
  11. Any members close to Watsonville CA? I could use some assistance with a purchase there. Thanks, James Never Mind! I can't figure out how to delete this message, but I have everything handled through the UPS Pack and Ship Store there. Mods, if you would like to NUKE this post, make it so.
  12. First off. I have Norton 360 Anti-Virus on my laptop. Yesterday I was on Google looking for an address when all of the sudden my anti virus popped up warning me I had a trojan attacking my computer. It was called Trojan.win.agent32.azsy. This screen looked so much like my Norton that without thinking I clicked on whatever button was prompting me to push. It all looked legit then I was prompted to purchase additional anti virus protection to rid my PC of this attack. It was then I realized something was going on. I was getting pop ups with all kinds of warnings but I ignored them and googled the trojan mentioned above. Turns out this is an on-going problem which can cause some major problems if you don't get rid of it. I was able to purchase on line Spyware Doctor which was reported the best way to fix the problem. It did work for me but I also read that it doesn't always work. So beware when you start getting these pop ups and make certain they are legit before pushing any buttons. BTW. Norton did not stop the attack. If you Google Personal Antivirus you'll see what the exact problem is.
  13. Rode to work this morning. When I left work saw lots of bikes, including a 2006 Black Cherry RSV at UPS in Louisville and a Midnight RSV across the river in Jeffersonville, IN.

  17. How would your Yamaha Mechanic compare to these guys ? UPS Airlines Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane, but only a high school diploma to fix one; a reassurance to those of us who fly routinely in our jobs. After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a 'gripe sheet,' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics corrects the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way,UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident. P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement. S: Almost replaced left inside main tire. * P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough. S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft. * P: Something loose in cockpit S: Something tightened in cockpit * P: Dead bugs on windshield. S: Live bugs on back-order. * P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground. * P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear. S: Evidence removed. * P: DME volume unbelievably loud. S: DME volume set to more believable level. * P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick. S: That's what friction locks are for. * P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode. S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode. * P: Suspected crack in windshield. S: Suspect you're right. * P: Number 3 engine missing. S: Engine found on right wing after brief search * P: Aircraft handles funny. S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right and be serious. * P:Target radar hums. S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics. * P: Mouse in cockpit. S: Cat installed. * And the best one for last * P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer. S: Took hammer away from the midget. BEER30
  18. I want to do a survey of who has had problems with thier rear brakes locking up in an emergency situation. What happened, injury, accident or death. How do you know what happened? Did you find your rear brake difficult to modulate? Was the front brake used also? What is you normal stopping proceedure. Have you practiced emergeny stops? Please add any relevant information you think would be valuable. Please be brief this is just a survey. I am going to try to keep this thread for a week and then let you all know the results. Hwy 632/Peninsula Rd

From Rosseau to Port Carling, the combination of Hwy 632 and Peninsula Road (County Road 7) is a great scenic route with lots of sweepers, twists and ups and downs. Only runs about 30 kms in total, but very enjoyable ride. Cheers,
