  1. I have the same locked version as everyone else on the owners manual. Gary
  2. I just opened a V80 file with the v88 software, which was set to IAP (V88) and it swapped it to TPS upon load. Tried it several times, and it was consistent. Gary
  3. I just tried mine and it works OK Adobe Reader Reader X ver 10.1.3 The 2nd page of the RSV copright is attached below. Not sure where I got this copy at. It's 54,862Kb. Wes, what pages or better yet, content do you want. I can print a range of pages to a PDF file and get that to you. Gary
  4. This won't be of interest to hardly anyone on this site, but one of the VMax guys from Australia hooked his V88 unit up to the VBoost servo motor and has it working with the programmable settings in the TCI. I copied what he did last week and when the VBoost auto kicks in at 5500 RPM it does give it a very obvious surge in power. Before I had it working on a toggle switch. The auto setting is way more fun. I actually had one tank of gas I hit 40mpg on. most are in 33~35 range, which I am fine with. Gary
  5. Bob (Atlantadragonslayer) told me last night he is still having issues with his using the V80 ING file. He is coming to Oberlin next week, but he's not sure which bike he is bringing. RSV or 1st gen. I will work with him on his, he is going to bring TCI if he rides RSV. I have had Mike Mercury's in mine for a few hundred miles now without a hiccup. I do have it running on TPS, and I also replaced the pickup coil connection to main harness. Gary
  6. Bumpty Bump Please sign up in calender listing. Helps me get a head count, not required but helps. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/ca...y=2012-6-1&c=1 Gary
  7. I am wondering what possessed somebody to put that fugly hitch on an otherwise cool looking bike. Gary
  8. I assume you are referring to the float valve seats. I have not removed mine either time I was into carbs. There is a fine screen in there allegedly, which I have sprayed carb cleaner into and used air hose to blow out in reverse direction. Carb kit I got had seats in them, but not the brass plug to install them. Gary
  9. I sent you a package last week !!! Those weren't for Eileen. Gary
  10. I did work on them some tonight. I have a set of #'s from Pgunn for the RSV's and Squeeze's #'s from an MKII. Working through the differences between my set and what is needed for these bikes, little more challenging that it seems, due my slightly modified scooter. Gary
  11. The TCI is the 'Brain' for the ignition system. It is the source of the timing settings for the bike. There is a six pin connector on left side of bike, near the shock damper valve which is just forward of the passenger peg. There are 5 used spaces in this plug. I saw one were it was full of grit and bike started after cleaning it and ran somewhat decent. Another suggestion is to run a heavy dose of Seafoam through it a couple of times. Walmart and auto parts stores carry it. White can with red lettering. Half a tank, half a can, then run the heck out of it. Doesn't fix everything and has been known to foul plugs. Gary
  12. Possible problem with the side stand switch, due to change in symptoms when weight is off side stand. You will have to pull the neutral switch to clean contacts. On the few I have seen, the brass tip that is on the gear shift cam is also been worn down a lot. Attached a couple of pictures of places you may visit in this journey. 1st is switch towards bottom center of picture. 2nd is view of location on mostly bare block, left center. 3rd is pin that contacts pads on switch on shift cam out of block. 4th is business side of switch, there is one unused contact, maybe there was a six speed on the drawing board at one time. 5th is a view of switch as it will look when middle drive cover removed. I put RTV on it to protect it, your cable will be black. Gary
  13. Link below to item on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hour-meter-sx-KTM-exc-mxc-xc-mx-sxf-sxf-250-450-520-525-xc4-lc4-530-excr-smr-sx-/370613484284?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564a48fafc Seller is ozg-motors In addition to listing heading that says it is hour mter, it is also a digital tach. You don't need to connect ground to get tach to work, just wrap wire around spark plug wire. I did a group buy for 30 of these here a couple of years ago. Gary
  14. I represent that remark !!!!!! Gary
  15. I don't think the xvz1300 setting in the stock program window works. I am attaching an IGN file for the 83 Venture. I have to zip it to get it uploaded. You will need to reset your IAP settings on Miccelaneous screen to match your MAP sensor. Settings on Bike tab are what is needed to get the TCI to work with the Venture. Nothing on this tab should need changed from file I am attaching. Save attached file to your PC & unzip it. Should have an extension of .IGN Open TCIP4 software, click on File, then Open, then browse to where you just saved file, click on it and click on open. This should load it into TCIP4 software. To load it into TCI, have key set to ON, with motor NOT running. Once computer links with TCI, the red lettering in upper right corner that reads No connection with PC will go away. Then click on Program icon at top of screen.. A couple of blue bars will zip across screen on lower right, takes a couple of seconds only. Then bike can be started, with PC still hooked up if you want. DO NOT load a program into TCI with bike running. Gary
  16. All covers except the clutch cover will fit. Clutch is narrower on 83-85 due to different style clutch from 86-93. This means all of them, valve, oil filter, pan, water, middle gear & stator. Gary
  17. .016"~.017" thick. Scans of gasket attached, they may help you. Scanner wasn't big enough to get it in one pass. Gary
  18. The switch closes the ground side of the circuit. There is 12V+ running straight to the horns via a switched fused circuit on the stock bikes. Sort of backwards of what you might expect. Gary
  19. Ohm's law comes into play here. You would need to know the devices current draw to calculate the size of resistor needed. Gary
  20. Mine are at 11 1/4", set to most rearward setting. Gary
  21. Brian's concept is different than what Snag has come up with in my opinion. Yes, they both will mount accessories, but they are different. And Brian's will potentially yield more mounting area. I can see a design issue with the full crossbar, the length and engagement of the ends will vary depending on what position the risers are in. There are at least 3 positions the risers can be set at, depending on rider preference. This is adjustable under the center key cover pod. From one extreme to the other there may be 2" or more of length change between the insides of the riser mount points. Gary
  22. Might plan on being there 5:00 ~ 6:00, but last 2 years people have left in small groups and went when they felt like it. It isn't a catered type dinner, we just order from menu, so arrival time is not that important. Gary
  23. I would suggest that instead of putting up a large number of auctions at the same time, that you do something more like a classified add and put 1 or 2 listings with a set, reasonable fee. Then some of us can bump these up from time to time. In a classified listing you can set it up for example, 10 items, then as each one is bought, the remaining quantity drops. Gary
  24. Not correct grasshopper, pebble is still in my hand. Here is a link to disassembling the brake & clutch switches on a bike with cruise. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42720 Next link is for a bike without cruise. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43024 Gary
  25. We don't all go at one time. Last year some left around 4:30 and started the festivities. As far as latest arrivals, there were people arriving easily well past 6 or 7. Then we didn't all just get up & head out, people left at varying times. It is about a 30 min ride from Don's to QSL. Map shows 3 turns, so it is a very easy route. Gary
