Christmas eve and I 'm a little put off at what I encountered today. Wife and I went to IHOP, a decent place for breakfast, we have a good one in concord, NC. We finished and the waitress bought our bill, wtitten on the back was "Happy Holidays" so without thinking I said how about a plain old Merry Christmas? she responded by saying they were not allowed to say Merry Christmas. the manager confirmed that the policy came from corporate, So I'm calling corporate to complain but I'm affraid I've lost a decent place to eat (because I do vote with my dollars) Whats your thought?

I have the RSV Owner's manual in PDF format. Not sure where I got it, but I just tried to print several pages, via ADOBE 6.0, but found that printing is not allowed and the security is password protected. Anyone know the password or know how to "crack" it?

Thinking about heading out to ride the three sisters or twisted sisters. How far from San Antonio is it over to there and how much time should be allowed to ride them. Kind of last minute trip also wondering how crowded it might be on a holiday weekend.

Was ready to fly to the east coast Friday night, for Saturday pick up of my trike..not ready Apparently it was held up in customs, due to the timber used to make the crate luckily I had allowed a week in case of hiccups. Now we'll be cutting it fine to deliver to the shipping agent Wow, what a day!!

I thought this year I would save some $ and purchase a tire on line only to find out the local yamaha dealer won't mount it. The shop foreman said they weren't allowed to (chain of something to do with tires). Is this bs or is there some truth in this?

i would like to share a family tradition that we do during the holidays. we set an empty plate and chair at the dinner table. no one is allowed to sit there. no one is allowed to use the setting. this place is for thoes who can not be here. and to remember them. for they have passed on. and now are enjoying a feast with our lord and saviour on his birthday. there sadly missed but not forgoten....

I have a friend that has only lived in PA for a little over a year. He likes to tell stories sometimes. This past weekend he told me that in PA if you get a flat tire on your car or truck, you have to call a Tow Truck. He says that you are not allowed to change your own tire alongside the road. Then he tells me that you aren't allowed to wash your car at your own house. He said he got a ticket for washing his car in his driveway before work. He said if you want your car cleaned, you have to take it to a car wash. This all sounds ridiculous, but there ARE some strange laws out there. So, was he telling me a story?

My Uncle sent me this, and I just thought it was funny, and sounded like the kind of President we should have! AMERICA NEEDS A CANDIDATE WITH THIS PLATFORM!! I HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT IN THE YEAR 2012. HERE IS MY PLATFORM: (1). Any use of the phrase: 'Press 1 for English' is immediately BANNED!!!. English is the official language; speak it or wait outside of our borders until you can. (2). We will immediately go into a two year isolationist attitude in order to straighten out the greedy big business posture in this country. America will allow NO imports, and we'll do no exports. We will use the 'Wal-Mart 's policy, 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.' We'll make it here and sell it here! (3). When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it coming in here. (4). All retired military personnel will be required to man one of the many observation towers located on the southern border of the United States (six month tour). They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens. (5). Social Security will immediately return to its original state If you didn't put nuttin in, you AIN'T gettin nuttin out. Neither the President nor any other politician will be able to touch it. (6). Welfare. -- Checks will be handed out on Fridays, at the end of the 40 hour school week, the successful completion of a urinalysis test for drugs, and passing grades. (7). Professional Athletes -- Steroids? The FIRST time you check positive you're banned from sports ... for life. (8). Crime -- We will adopt the Turkish method, i.e., the first time you steal, you lose your right hand. There is no more 'life sentences'. If convicted of murder, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for the victim you killed: gun, knife, strangulation, etc. (9). One export of ours will be allowed: wheat; because the world needs to eat. However, a bushel of wheat will be the EXACT price of a barrel of oil.. (10). All foreign aid, using American taxpayer money, will immediately cease and the saved money will help to pay off the national debt and, ultimately, lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask The American People if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision as to whether, or not, it's a worthy cause. (11). The Pledge of Allegiance will be said EVERY day at school and every day in CONGRESS. (12). The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc. My apology is offered if I've stepped on anyone's toes .... nevertheless...

Am I allowed to go up to the local police dept and see and read thru the police report from our case? Including the perps statement? I have not done this up to this point and I am now ready and wanting to read it... I just want to know before i go up there asking, want to make sure what my rights are on this in case they dont want to show it to me. can anyone tell me anything about this?

First, thanks again to all of you for your prayers, messages of support and general well wishes. It meant quite alot knowing you guys were sending positive thoughts while I was getting the finest treatment Wheeling, WV has to offer. Its been two and a half months since the accident. I'm still at home, and still not allowed to put any weight on the leg (turns out I had 8 breaks, femur to foot). I still have some open wounds, and my foot is still the size and color of a small holiday ham. On the plus side, I am now allowed to try walking with crutches, can sit in the front seat of the car like a big boy, and I returned to playing keyboards with my band, after lowering my equipment. My one month old venture was totaled and bought by the insurance company, (at a profit!) I'm going to wait until I'm healed before getting a replacement. My girlfriend has been an angel through all of this, so while in ICU the second time, I asked her to marry me. Surprisingly, she wants me to get another cycle. So while not currently a venture owner, I plan on still being a venture rider. By the way, I have two of the Yamaha headsets, never used, that I'm offering for sale. After two weeks, and six operations, I was allowed to leave the hospital today. My next doctor's visit won't be for a week, so I am thankfully allowed to just rest at home. I want to thank all of you for your messages of support, public and private. While I have never been the most emotional guy on the planet, your prayers and well wishes have touched me very deeply and have helped me to change the way I view life overall. (and for the record, I'm not on morphine now Thank you all once again. Jim
