  1. 83-85 (MKI) clutchs are the Barnett style with 6 helical springs. 86-93 (MKII) are a diagphram style spring. Clutch cover is different. There are a lot of differences from MKI to MKII 1200 - 1300 motor Saddlebags & trunk totally different Headlight Brakes Carbs - mainly venturi size Mufflers This is a few of the main differences Gary
  2. Some pictures attached. Gary
  3. Actually, it is in the normal position at about 5 on the clock & in bypass at 11 on the clock. I don't think either is really 'OFF'. Note some conversion may be needed if your clock is your cell phone. Gary
  4. What are you doing ???? Selling parts off the trike ??? Must be worse than we've been told !!! Gary
  5. CHF is Congestive Heart Failure for those that don't know. Had to Google it myself. Gary
  6. If you are talking about the ones that are for draining the bowl when you open the screw on the carb body, It really don't need to be there as long as you remember if you check the float level it ain't there. I am missing on of mine, and it is going to stay MIA, cause I can't reach in there with the Vboost on it. These are very small rubber tubes that exit on each side of the carb rack. Nothing is going to come out of there unless the drain screw is opened up. If you are talking about the over flow tube that runs out the back of the bike, you should have it on there. Gary
  7. Never have thought much of places that offer price matching. Sort of says well charge you more, unless you catch us. I would rather buy it from the place that gives the lower price up front. Gary
  8. TPS stands for Throttle Position Sensor. IAP is Air Pressure. In the settings for the new V88 TCI, there is the choice between TPS or IAP. The IAP was an added feature of the V88 unit. It is a possible source of the dropout issue. The Ventures in stock form all use Air Pressure sensor to indicate the demand on the motor which is used as part of the RPM advance . The Ignitech TCI's TPS settings can be set up to utilize this input. Besides the TCI that I sent, there was a map sensor in the package. The adapter cable had a 3 pin connector on it that will connect to the MAP sensor. The vacuum port on the new MAP sensor needs to be connected to the carb intake boot in place of the existing hose that is on the #2 carb. Picture attached of MAP sensor sent. If you have not installed this new MAP sensor, that would lead to less than optimal performance. The existing vacuum sensor on the bike is not connected to the new TCI, in the form I sent it to you. 9. Get well Bob, you are to tough of a bird to go anywhere yet. Gary
  10. I would think that is all you will need. Pin & spring. It wouldn't be a bad idea to also order a screw, 98707-05016-00, just in case original is pain getting out. $1.05 Also get a new O-ring for existing switch. 93210-29196-00 $2.45 This is in electrical 2 tab. Gary
  11. Only place I can think of on bike that has a provision for eyelet terminals is the ACCY block on the stock glass tube style fuse block. Which would then agree with Rockets thought that it was across the battery positive & negative. Gary
  12. That will qualify you for a ticket. Gary
  13. Part #'s you need for the 83 are; (from partshark in the Shift Cam Fork tab) point, neutral 4UN-18542-00-00 $2.22 spring, compression 90501-06022-00 $1.88 These are the same for all the 1st gens, since you have parts that were not stock on an 83. Gary
  14. No picture, which by text I am thinking you meant to attach. Gary
  15. Picture is an aftermarket add on. Gary
  16. We all need to slow down when we get old, and a 2nd Gen is the perfect, logical step in that direction. Gary
  17. Here is a link to the cable. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=690719&CatId=447 I have got over a thousand miles on my TCI & Mike Mercury's and it has not had the drop out that was reported. I can send out a file to load that will swap from the IAP setting to the TPS setting. A cable is needed to do this. I did experience it at 1st, 3 times within a couple of miles. I replaced the pickup coil connector & changed over to the TPS settings. I have a TPS adapter Bkuhr made up I am going to try soon. Just been very busy this spring. Gary
  18. Starter is on front of motor towards left side sightly, up under front header pipes. Also clean the ground to the block on the right front side where the negative cable is attached. Slightly forward of water pump. This is in addition to cleaning starter main wire. And check that 2 starter bolts are snug. Starter is on right side center of attached picture. Gary

  24. Several days ago as I left a meeting at our church, I desperately gave myself a personal TSA pat down. I was looking for my keys. They were not in my pockets. A quick search in the meeting room revealed nothing. Suddenly I realized that I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot. My wife has scolded me many times for leaving the keys in the ignition. My theory is the ignition is the best place not to lose them. Her theory is that the car will be stolen. As I burst through the doors of the church, I came to a terrifying conclusion. Her theory was right. The parking lot was empty. I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen. Then I made the most difficult call of all. “Honey,” I stammered. (I always call her “honey” in times like these.) “I left my keys in the car, and it has been stolen.” There was a period of silence. I thought the call had been dropped, but then I heard her voice, “Ken,” she barked, “I dropped you off!” Now it was my time to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, “Well, come and get me.” She retorted, “I will ... as soon as I convince this policeman that I have not stolen your car!”
