  1. I really want to be like Puc when I grow up.....
  2. One of the exact reasons I sold my RSV and got a new Harley-Davidson Road Glide. As a friend of mine said, you might get tired of just riding it with nothing for you to work on...... I think I can get used to that! I also love the way the Road Glide handles, and I can hear the radio at interstate speeds..... :whistling:
  3. Yeah Dave, I hope you're having a great day and wonderful birthday.
  4. Ok, so I found a guy who was parting out a RSV and bought the carbs off of him thinking it would be a good idea to have an extra set. The bike was running just fine when he pulled them off a couple of weeks ago. So my question, as the title asks, is what is the best way to store these? I'd hate to have spent $150 on a set of good carbs that go bad over time because they were not stored properly. I am hoping to have them BOLT-ON ready when I need them....
  5. You're awesome for serving your country in a way that most of us do not. You are in my prayers sir. Thank you for all you do.....
  6. Oh my gosh.....that is crazy....didn't see that one coming...

Skid, If you want company while on your bike I can join up with you sometime while you're in the area. I always like to get to meet members. I am in Hickory about an hour from you.....
  8. Gotta say it has nothing to do with Capitalism..... This type of program is Socialism! Capitalism allows the free market to work, socialism interferes.... :stirthepot:
  9. I see that you are a trial member so you wouldn't know, but there is a guy here on the forum who does this mod for just $40.00.....His name is Rick Butler down in Texas. I and a lot of other members have had him do it and are happy with the results. I also suggest getting a long hair sheep skin to throw on top of your seat. With Rick having done the mod and me buying a sheep skin I can ride ALL day in total comfort. Here is Rick's info.... http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3738&title=butt-butler-seat-mod&cat=25 :080402gudl_prv: By the way pay your $12 to join the group, some of the best money you will ever spend.....Welcome to the forum, I hope you find us helpful.
  10. Hey Steve, You might even wanna give M61A1MECH a call on the phone and ask him for an introduction to the mechanic, he didn't mention his name but if he knew he was getting your business based off a current customer I can't see that doing anything but helping you out. :080402gudl_prv: Matthew
  11. Steve, The bike is beyond Seafoam..... If you keep it, the Daytona bike shop sounds like a good option. I would call the guy referred to in the thread and talk to him first and let him know what you expect from him. You have a nice bike there and once you get it right.....it's right.
  12. Call Earl, he'll walk you through it. This is a simple DIY mod.....
  13. I'm getting another bike this weekend that needs some work done on it, so I may not be able to join you guys on the road, but you are welcome to park your truck here at the house. I am in Hickory, NC about an hour from the BRP.....
  14. Rooster.... yeah, that was us. After everyone got back to Morganton, Dave and I took Old 18 down to Shelby then took Hwy 74 over to Lake Lure/ Chimney Rock where we checked out a few of the shops and had dinner. From Lake Lure/ Chimney Rock we took Hwy 9 up to Black Mountain, then took Hwy 70 back through your neck of the woods and in to Morganton where Dave and I split off, and I took the Super Slab back home to Hickory. It was a great day....we hit lots of places and soaked up all that beautiful weather we had! Awesome day of riding.... Hazenson....Glad you were able to come over from Durham to join us. Next time I'm out your way I'll give you a shout.
  15. Had a great time today getting to meet and ride with some VR members. Rooster1, Hazenson, and Dave_Wells, it was nice getting to hang out with you guys. It was an awesome day for riding here I the NC mountains. Dave, we covered a lot of ground after the rest of the crew left. I hope you enjoyed you time here in NC, I'll be sure to give you a holler if I'm ever up in Ohio. Thanks for introducing me to Larry and the NC Knobbie riding group.....have a safe ride home. Matthew AKA Foyerboy:thumbsup2:
