Home from trip with no OVERDRIVE
BuddyRich replied to vegastruckee's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Actually you can run the bike over a 100 in 4th just fine. It loves the higher rpms. I suspect your having a clutch spring problem. Install the PCW upgrade and that will probably fix it. -
FJR1300 final drive confirmation?
BuddyRich replied to Hulign's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If someone gets this to work write it up with photos so we can add it to the tech section. -
You get used to it quik. Your in for a few lessons bout the sun down here fersure:whistling:.. and 60 is downright cold too me now. Y'all are nuts livin that snow stuff all winter:doh:.

Just hire somebody else and when he shows up next tell him you want a refund of unused funds ( you want receipts) or you'll see him in court and you'll report him to the state. Time to cut him loose Dan before winter gets here. It ain't working and your running out of time.

07 RSV Rear Shock Not Covered??? WTF ??
BuddyRich replied to StarRider07's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Then I would really go after Yamaha on that. IMHO these bikes should never need a shock for at least 100k.Its a bad design and now they want to stick it to us. Seriously makes me think of changing makes on my next bike. -
You can PRINT anything that you can read on the screen simply using the Print Screen key. So there's really no way to stop anyone printing. It may not be formatted correctly but then all they have to do is OCR it and they have the same doc. Basically what your asking is not possible.

Tell the dealer to prove it was something you did. Otherwise you have in writing that it is in warranty and will be replaced by warranty or you'll be happy to take the dealer to court. I would NEVER go back to a dealer that didn't stand behind his customers. That dealer is just plain STUPID. -
Well. They aren't going to go away. I would take the lights apart and get the outer fairing outta the way. Once you have room to work, first get the seized bolts out. Then go and fix the original problem.

I put some Infinitiy's in 4 years ago. They can go louder than stock. The stock will distort way before they do. I had left one in just to see and the stock would sound like crap way before the I's started to distort.

bike cutting out / missing at WOT
BuddyRich replied to Gary N.'s topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If you put a couple of pieces of Velcro on the blocks and then on the knee blockers that won't happen. I didn't know it was happening till it happened to me. Now I include 2 small strips of Velcro just for the poly blocks. Or you could do as Gary suggested and use some double sided tape and attach them to the knee blockers. -

Hey Gary, You still have the knee blockers on ? Check to be sure one of the poly blocks didn't get sucked into the air box. Don't ask me how I know this ...:rotf: -
Why Men Are Never Depressed...
BuddyRich replied to Sleeperhawks Mechanic's topic in Jokes and Humor
You don't know my brother in law do you Car mechanics tell you the truth. He don't know where the hood is You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. NEVER EVER GIVE HIM A Wrench or screwdriver or hammer You almost never have strap problems in public. I'm not goin there The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. Yea, BALD -
Yep. That what I was thinkin. He'll never survive even a minor one..
-
Yep, There will always be some oil in the air boxes due to venting. Much like a PVC valve in the old air cleaners back in the 70's and 80's
-
Bought mine new in 05. It came with 2 keys EXACTLY the same. Only one (same) key needed to open anything or start the bike.If it was brand new I'd call Yamaha and bypass the dealer in a heat beat.

What is the easiest way to insert a photo in a post?
BuddyRich replied to Semi-retired's topic in Watering Hole
The only way I have found is to click on the icon that looks like a stamp (mountain and sun) and post the link to an existing pic on the web. Like this. While on the web find the pic and right click on it then select "Copy image location" . I'm using firefox. Paste that into the box. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQA2U7UVRO3MzmlIP_T9_LzGcm-JjSBcl6mU4g5dhNOVozhkW3a -
Riding 25,000 miles in 25 consecutive days
BuddyRich replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Watering Hole
I think that its unsafe and not well thought out if one individual is going to try 1k a day for 25 days in a row with no breaks. For whatever cause, the risk of someone getting hurt due to fatigue is too great.. -
A valve adjustment on these bikes is about a four hour job. You think he went thru all that for a leak down test ?

About 32 to 34 Everywhere. But I like twisting my wrist as much as possible so that's part of it. But still, 34 and getting there fast ain't bad

I got it from CA when I was out there at TAP Plastics. I can make up some red lens to use as a replacement. I'd charge 22 for a lens. Anybody interested let me know or just send a paypal to buddyrich@ebmc.com. I'll see if I can get some pics of my current setup on here in the next day or two.

Run down to your local AC supply store and pick up a motor. You just need to know Shaft size, CCW or CW rotation, Voltage , hp,rpm, and mounting holes. They probably have a replacement motor there. http://stores.johnstonesupply.com/corp/tabid/564/default.aspx?find=OH
