I totally disagree with that statement. When done legally and within the limits of the law as I did in CA it keeps a lot of bikers from getting runtover by cagers talking on their cell phones or doing their hair or makeup or what ever. I did it for ten years in CA always within the limits of the law. And I know of at least once I didn't get creamed from behind cause the moron hit the car next to me while I was splitting lanes.

:rasberry: I had 2, read it 2, disc drives.... Couldn't afford a 20mb hd till about 89....

I would say organ donor but at those speeds there won't be much left intact internally .

For those that have received their knee blockers in the last few days don't forget to look at the instructions on post 153 in this thread. Just a few up from this one

If I remember right its under 55. A bike can split the lane but a car cannot come into a lane a bike has. You can do no more than 5 more than the other traffic. It maybe 10 but I'm pretty sure it was 5. The reason CA lets you lane split is bikes gettin rear ended in rush hour traffic. I did lane split when I lived there. It was safer than stop and go with the cages. But you had to be on your toes. There were those who would try to squeeze you off(illegal as all get out) Saw a CHP pull a guy over for doing that. CHP don't write warning tickets..

Yea, Usually its crotch rockets doing that. I hate when they come up from behind and switch over 3 lanes just to get in the same lane as you to get by.

Situational awareness is a must on a bike. There's all kinds out there on the road with you. Looking back it may have been a bad time to adjust the coat. But that's part of it. You never know how fast things can change out there. Distractions are part of riding and trying to control that is not as easy as one thinks. They seem to be the littlest of things but can lead to much bigger problems in a heartbeat .

Try doing a search for yourself or something in your profile that they are using. Especially phrases that you may have used. Follow any links back to the source. Then see where the service is and contact them.

Apparently I like turning left more than I like turning right....
BuddyRich replied to GG54172's topic in Watering Hole
You will wear the left side a little more due to the crown in the road so water runs off. But I don't think its that much. Outta the 160k or more miles I have put on bikes over the last 10 years I have never worn one like that. And different surfaces will wear a tire more than others. grooved concrete will eat tires twice as fast as smooth asphalt. -

Shameless Bump. For those who may not have seen this post.

I'm runnin a stock size E2 on the rear of mine and I'll tell you what. I can break that rear loose from a take off to a slow rolling take off anytime I want. Gets my attention in a left or right turn taking off from a light or stop sign. I have to take it easy on the throttle or I'll be sliding sideways in nothing flat. Straight take off from a light or stop sign I can still break it loose but its generally more controllable .

radio/cb problems
BuddyRich replied to warriorhoneybee's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Several of us have had that problem. Dirty contacts on the Radio Control Head lead. Do as mentioned but I did all of them just to be sure.- 4 replies
