this may have been posted before.....just about everything has been on the whining problem....yesterday i solved my problem very easily.....EAR PLUGS....it worked perfect....just wanted to share....sorry if this has been posted a thousand times before....

I've read alot of comments about chirping and whining. I have an 03 RSV with 70,000 miles....I've noticed the whining and chirping, but never really gave it much thought...I just figured it was normal for this bike. My question.....is the whining or chirping a problem? or is it just an annoyance? Like I said....I have 70,000 miles....have I been doing harm all this time or do I just have a great abundance of tolerance??? Input is greatly appreciated.

Changed my oil to Rotella T6. I do not have as much oil in it as usual because I was unknowingly overfilling. I am half way up in the oil window when level. The whining is unbelievable where there was no whining before. Whining only occurs on decelaration. When engine is under load it is fine. I think it is a volume issue. Thoughts? Bob -
It is winter and I'm still hearing a whining noise! Oh, that's these people in Iowa who are whining about all the snow we have this year!

Seems like all I have done on here lately has been whine.I'm sorry. This last one really has me in a funk. But I will get back. Don't look good insurance wise right now but I will survive.

Just wondering if anyone out there owns an 09 Venture yet? Was wondering if Yamaha addressed the infamous chirping and whining problem, and if there are any other issues? Anyone hear anything? Thanks

Does anyone know if Yamaha is doing anything about the Royal Stars differential whine? Mine is getting louder! Its quiet for about the first half mile then it starts whining. Thanks for the help!

I am new to this "Post New Thread" thing but for better or worse, here goes. I have just picked up a first generation (88 DUC) with almost 37 K. Runs absolutely perfect in all respect except one. The whinning when decelerating is not really too annoying. It is just that it makes one wonder what could be going on. I also have an 83 TC with almost 50K on it and it has not unusual noises when decelerating. The 88 seems to have the same level and type noise regardless of which gear the bike is in. I have been reading through some of the posted topic and I am totally convinced that most of you have far more expertise concerning the VR's that I. So, any thoughts and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. One procedure I will soon be performing is the drive shaft maintenance posted here. Looking forward to anyone's reply. Head set whining noise

I have an 84 and when you plug in the head set there is a high pitched whining noise through the head set, sometimes. Sometimes it is totally clean with music or cb coming through. Any ideas? Thx for any help you can give.
