J&M Elite/Performance Headsets: what is the difference?
Tom replied to LetHimRide's topic in Watering Hole
I dont know the difference but I was running the entry level J&M and it was OK..Now I am running the Elite and it is FANTASTIC..The IC volume I used to have to run it at 11-13 now its VERY clear and loud at 3-5. Music is really great sounding thru the Elites... -
Glad to have been able to help you in a small way..After you get them set up you will like them..Ive hooked a rubber strap to the holes on the bracket to hang them on the handlebars while syncing carbs.Tom

Oil is a personal preference..Ive been using Full synthetic since 2004 with no problem. Same clutch in the bike, just updated the spring. Its all a matter of opinion but thats the great thing about this forum,to discuss and get ideas and or opinions. If asked I usually just say use what you like.

While I dearly love my Venture I just want a change and I do not think Yamaha is going to do a thing..Thats why I am waiting till September to make up my mind. Also That is why I am not posting my Venture Yet either here or in any Ads.If it sells it sells,if it dont thats OK to,but September I will either be on a 2011 Gold Wing or a hopefully redesigned Venture. I like the looks of the Venture better but the power and plug and play of the Wing is awesome.

May be selling mine soon..Eyes on another bike,BUT I know its unrealistic but it is gonna take $11000.00 to get mine..Nothing less as I dont really need to sell it,but it has EVERY piece of chrome on it plus a Garmin Zumo 550 and BuddyRich cable. They are great bikes,go for one at your price as they are a good bike and many can be found under 10 grand. Mine is a 2004 Midnight but still you can find them alot cheaper. -
I enjoyed it too but unfortunately I could see where it was going....I hope that in the future some can keep the Politics out of the threads..hard to do,but Freebird has asked us MANY times to respect that.

"Thats where I got mine,Sporting for less and yes I had to calibrate but it is VERY easy with the screws inside the glass. Ive synced my carbs once and they are remaining that way. The only complaint I have is the cheap rubber hoses they put in the kit..Relace as soon as you get the gauges, other than thaT GO FOR IT. TOM

Goose,The gauges you have I bought also with one exception..The new model you just pull the front plastic (or glass) and it has a screw you turn with a small screw driver to calibrate....sure makes it easy and Yep I like the gauges..I appreciate you being there for me to call when I get stumped at times..Thanks!

Dave , a few years back Freebird had some made up that was custom made for whoever....PM him where he had it done. Tom

Gary,All of the warranty work,(If any) will be handled by garmin UNLESS you get an extended thru whoever and I do not know how well the "Extended warranties" you buy at brick and mortar are. I bought mine online..make sure they are an Authorized Garmin dealer though. Tom
