Saturday we removed the tank badge from Roxie, my '06 RTSD. I like how sleek it made her look. Someone said she looks like a panther. Mysterious, menacing, and sexy, that's her. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/4302465766_151b3e912f.jpg The most glaring thing to change now is the hinges. I know I can buy OEM chrome inserts, but I have restrained myself from adding flashy stuff. She is a midnight bike, and IMO is meant to be dark and threatening. Chrome there would be out of character. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/4304221436_505d4eecf9.jpg What are some options for replacing the hinge inserts with gloss black. Or better, like the original but saying Roxie instead of Tour Deluxe? Ideas? Dave

As most of you know, I have been laid up after my back surgery. Well, I am getting around a bit better now, and have been putting in the shop although I am still not allowed to officially work on motorcycles yet. I took a set of louvers from the side covers of my 87'VR and installed the Sheet Metal inserts I had gotten last year. (A BIG Thanks To Randy For The Inserts) I mounted a string of blue LED's in the inserts and put a back on them to protect the LED's from the heat and I also installed a string of blue LED's in the front air scoop as well. A Venture rider I know is looking to change his mufflers out for some Tour Deluxe mufflers with the adjustable tips. Does anyone have a set they would like to sell? We looked at just putting the TD tips on the Venture mufflers, they will fit in the ends, but the Venture mufflers lack the threaded inserts used to fasten the tips on. I doubt that the sheet metal on the inside of the muffler cone is strong enough to hold the tips on with out the threaded inserts. Has anyone tried adding the TD tips to stock Venture muflers? Thanks

grease zerts for the swingarm etc?

i just know i saw a how to written up by some awesome person on here about adding grease zerts to various locations on the first gen bikes... but i can't for the life of me find it. does anyone have a link saved to it? I searched for grease, grease inserts swingarm grease. I am probably just blind, so would someone please give me a nudge in the right direction? thanks in advance! Jared:banana: -
I once saw some inserts for the hinges in chrome or SS. One guy even was offering to monogram them. Now I can't find them, anyone know where they are offered? Don't have to be monogramed.
