  1. Be safe Gary and Mary!
  2. Dave,I had put my stocks back on several months ago after the Arkansas Rally..I found riding all day was stressing me out so bad I couldnt seem to ride as well as I use to..go figure..Anyway It made a world of difference in my stress level. I know some like them and I MISS the sound but not for me as I do LONG runs and after days of riding the noise gets to me. Now watch out for cops..I tend to run 80-90 alot more and have found it necessary to use the cruise control more due to the quietness and smoothness.Im going to leave the stocks on my new wing and use the CRUISE Alot!
  3. Thanks..Ihave that kind of lift..I will let the new owner of My RSV have the Adapter..Thanks again.
  4. Any Wingers..Can you use a lift to raise the wing off the ground..If not what do you use..I know it has the center stand but curious as to how to lift it way up.

    My New Ride

Congrats! I have lot of friends riding the Harley....We must have great wives as mine has bought me a New 2010 Gold Wing,Level 3..Pick it up in 2 weeks..Hard to wait I will admit!
  6. Thanks Eck..Im sure Ill be using some of this Info...2 more weeks till I get her!
  7. did you try putting that end on first? I seem to remember I had to do that and also I THINK I found it had to go on a certain way with the adjustments directed to the right as you sit on the bike. ALSO,take the battery and battery box out..its no trouble doing this and it will give you more room to work. Also just remembered,I had to file off just a little,in Texas tak a "Smidgen". It was so little all ir did was basically polish the side clean.
  8. Thanks Gary! Ive got one too but hate to use it so Ill be glad to let you show me! Ive ordered it but Im waiting till 3rd week in June to go get it as I am transferriing monies and then have to drive up to get it. Its too bad that other dealers will not give you a good deal around my area..I went in to all dealers around Austin and San Antonio,Houston and they will not touch the deal I am getting in Arkansas. Oh well there loss and I love to drive anyway.
  9. I dont know where you live but if close to Blanco,Texas I think I have one at home..I will be back home weds evening.
  10. Buddy,Besides the length issue here is a tie down method I found that may be helpful http://allamericanprod.com/tiedown.html

    Now I understand

I had always wondered how this worked..Wish someone would have been as clear and used layman terms like this guy does..Thanks for this useful Information!
  12. Not Official here yet,but should have mine ordered by tomorrow evening..Metallic Black,Level3 Nav/CB ,XM,TPMS, ABS...So far Ive gone nuts on the accessories..Not gonna say how much but I may go broke with all the stuff I can put on it..Now got to get to Russellville ARK to pick it up..My Venture I THINK is sold..If not Ill put it back in the classifieds but still buying the Wing. Now,Not to start a debate but I wanted to wait out on Honda to make changes..I called them direct and they said.."There will not be a 2011 GW,but there will be an early release of a 2012 made in Japan." I gave up on Yama doing anything to the Venture...Loved my bike.and never had ANY trouble out of it,just wanted something different. Im staying around here though, too many great friends!
  13. I have one ordered pendng sale of my MRSV in classifieds
  14. I like it Herb..Im gonna put mine up for sale soon(RSV) and probably go with the wing..Just want something different.
  15. Ditto on E3..been in rain..big time rain ad no problems..I prefer the tread style on the Avons and E3S as they dont tend to follow the grooves on a BADLY GROOVED HIGHWAY...AND WE GOT A LOT OF THEM HERE IN TEXAS
  16. Welcome aboard!

    wildhair

He called me yesterday...I will let him fill in any blanks but he is doing OK..He also called Debby and wished her a happy Mothers Day..Was good to here from him.
  18. I think after a few members read this and respond you will find most has a slight ticking noise when first started but then fades away..I have been around several that do this so I would say its normal..I may be wrong but mine does it and when we checked the valves they were within specs..
  19. Make sure the windshield mounting bracket is BOLTED on in the middle..Ive seen several that have plastic tiewraps holding the mount bracket on..Mine was one of them. You will notice it if it has the ties, very obvious.(Part is #7 on this exploded view that I am talking about) http://webservices.motorsportdealers.com/parts/partImages/YAM/2/MCY/2004/XVZ13TFMS_TFMSC/IMAGES/COWLING_1.Gif
  20. I dont need to stretch mine at all..Mine covers most of the bike but I have a XXL LARGE head!
  21. You know how it is getting old...I use it for training wheels for the Venture!
  22. Yes they are A-OK, Messed up thre bike and Minor scrapes etc but from what I saw and what they told me as of yesterday they are in good shape..Thank God!
  23. in the classifieds we have a member Skydoc17 that sells Deka AGM..I bought one and VERY pleased with it I think it is 310CCA..my bike has never turned over faster than it does now..Here is the link http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2743&title=deka-etx-20l-sealed-agm-battery&cat=7
  24. Larry, actually I liked the Vespa on the apron. When you guys get all settled up on the bike and get wheels under you again we will go back and at least spend the night there again and ride the Sisters with you two. Thanks again,I Love it! Tom
  25. Most of you know I hosted a BBQ meet and eat in Leakey,Texas(3 Sisters area). GuthDaddy17 and his wife were coming and had a little incident in Johnson City,Texas while headng to my house and were unable to attend. I was unaware that Keeley had made me a "Special" present for the event but Larry sent it VIA FedEX. It is a really cool BBQ Apron She hand stitched(Maybe machine but regardless stitched) with the inscriptions you will see on the Apron..even went as far as putting the little blue VR Award ribbons on it! VERY COOL! Thanks Keeley and Larry! Here are some pictures..I know I need a hair cut..didnt feel like combing it but Im old..who cares! BTW Both are doing OK at last call to them..Thanks again Keeley!
