Dan, I learned the hard way don't replace a sidestand switch with another USED switch, it's only going to crap out again!! Replace with a new one!!
-
No, both sides will be exactly the same voltage reading because no current is being drawn, therefore no IR drop..

Looks outstanding!! Looking forward to seeing it in person at the end of the month! We drop off my scoot Monday the 29th at the factory. We wil be going to Nashville Tuesday and be back in Murray Thursday and hitting the road Friday evening. We get in to Murray Sunday and will be staying at the Best Western Hotel. how much air pressure for front and rear
bongobobny replied to Bwhite's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
About 5 front (I like a semi stiff ride) and 45 in the rear as we 2 up all the time. There is an aftermarket hookup that equalizes the 2 front forks that is basically a air line connected between the two so they balance out like the 1st gens do... -

Actually the RSV likes a little higher RPM's so don't feel afraid to run them up more often. Also, the gear spoacing between 4th and 5th (or OD if you prefer) leaves a lot to be desired. What some people do is swap out the rear drive with one from a Vmax to improve this, and Vmax owners like the RSV rears as it gives them better top end...

Congratulations Skid!!! Now get out there and win some souls to Christ!!!

Actualy, I sort of prefer switching the ground side instead of the hot side as it eliminates the possibility of 12 volts to and from the switch accidently getting shorted to ground somehow, but that's my preference... The main idea is the switch turns the relay on or off, which uses a small amount of current. Let the relay handle the big amount of current that the lights use, they are designed for that! Switches burn out in short order if they have to pass too much current.

Can anybody compare a 2nd Gen. with a Valkryie
bongobobny replied to Sunrayman's topic in Watering Hole
We have a couple of Valkries that ride with us, and lets just say I wish they still made them, I might have bought one instead... -
You may want to just clean the plugs until you run the rest of the seafoam thru as it will tend to foul out the plugs as it loosens all the built up crud. After you use up the rest of the tankful THEN put in the new plugs! Also, how old are your plug wires???

Battery Bypass, Right Wire?
bongobobny replied to clint_1985's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sounds like the right wire. To bypass the sensor, buy a 2,999 ohm resistor and connect it from the wire to the + connection of the battery. That should turn off the light. BTW the resistor value can be anywhere between 2000 and 10,000 ohms, 1/4 or 1/2 watt... If you are worried about battery drain, you can always hook the resistor to the red line on the fuse block instead of the battery terminal. -

There was a thread about those 2 bikes. His asking was $300 which was a super deal, but $200, wow!!! You can make a ton of money on fleabay with the parts!! Congratulations! I guess you won't need the side panels from me now... -
