  3. Well Dan....are you going to oblige your adoring public??
  4. I love Red Green! thats one of the big things I miss about being right next to Ontario. I used to watch him on the local Ontario TV station CBC. There are rednecks all over the world, Red Green is a perfect example of a Canadian Redneck
  5. It's not imperative, but it will pull better with a little longer tongue. Add 12" to it and that will be sufficient. It will be a bolt together, so whatever size the original tongue tube is, just go and buy the same size, just 12" longer and drill it accordingly and bolt it together.

Thats the spirit Jeff...but I fear you might have just jinxed yourself
  7. What happens in Vegas....stays in Vegas Happy Birthday Old Dude!!!
  8. Ron, Another option for you might be to just buy another type of H4 bulb that will fit right into the headlight housing. I installed a Sylvania Xtravision in the '83 I am riding right now. It was relatively inexpensive, I paid $11 for it but I am pretty impressed at the brightness it gives off that 1st gen (the MKI headlight is marginal at best) You might want to try that before you shell out $100 for the HID unless your dead set on it...
  9. Here are some more pics of that whole ride....
  10. I remember that bro! still makes me laugh I'd like the Chicago Harley Davidson shirt please, and Lonna asked what she gets for taking the pic of you screaming like a girl. I think you piddled a little too
  11. Happy Belated Birthday Bob!! I missed it too DOH!
  12. Charles Durning passed away the same day as Jack, he was 1 year younger at 89. They sure did live good long lives though....they will be missed.

I'm trying, if it was anyone else but Tom I would be kinder....but he's so mean to me and I just can't help myself
  14. It would make sense unless it was a braided stainless line. We all know what happens to the stock 1st gen lines over time.
  15. Technically there Tommy, she would have to send it up! You know being down under and all that stuff
  16. Gunny, As I recall it's pretty strait fwd there is a mechanical seal right behind the water pump impeller. Then on the opposite side of the case there is an oil seal and a bearing. You would have to remove that side cover to get at all of it as there is a circlip that holds it in place. Are you having issues with yours ?

Move to TEXAS...no snow here, even rode the bike into work today. Little chilly this morning 34 degrees when I left for work But sunny and 50 going home
  18. Ron, If your planning on using the stock headlight housing thats on the Venture, you'll need to make sure that you get an H4 bulb kit to fit into the stock housing. I know some folks have gone and swapped out the stock glass for a different look, like an Adjure Tri Bar. It's fairly labor intensive to do that. The 6K on the light scale is a good choice, I personally wouldn't go higher than that as I believe you'll loose a bit of brightening along the road. The kit you have in your post looks pretty nice, plug and play from what I can see. You'll just have to find a place to hide the ballast for it. I have installed a couple of the HID kits on the G2's and RSTDs and it's not a terrible thing.... PS Give me a call if you have any questions #'s in my profile
  19. Looks like you did pretty good on that one, I'll bet she cleans up shiny as a new penny with some elbow grease. Now only 4 1/2 months until you can ride it back in Michigan
  20. Make sure all the carb bowls are getting fuel. Open the drains and drain the bowls completely, then turn the key on and let them fill back up. This will insure your getting fuel inside all the bowls. If you haven't changed the wires and caps out, do that, spark plugs too. You can tell if your diaphragms have holes in them by watching the speed at which your slide go back to the closed position with the air cleaner cover off. Holes in them, it will be noticeably faster to close. You may need to take the carbs off and go through them as Seafoam will only work if there is an opening in the jets, if they are completely clogged shut, it wont do any good as it needs to flow through to clean properly.
  21. Volt gauge is all I'd use, I have seen amp meters in the past burn up and catch fire.....
  22. Ours is like Capt Joe mentioned, it clears the combustion chamber 1st by allowing the blower to come on and clear it out. Then there is a glow element that heats up orange hot and then one it meets that criteria, it opens the gas valve and allows the flame to ignite in the combustion chamber. Sounds like it might be a bit dirty. I would have them bring in someone trustworthy to perform a cleaning of the furnace. I had it done to ours up north every year before the cold set in....
  23. No, I didn't bid on it...
  24. Not late...your right on time Merry Christmas
  25. Thats the biggest thing I miss about being as far from my family as we are. Good to see the smiles on your faces, thats what it's all about
