  1. Yeah I know, it's the watering hole, but some of the 2nd genners might be able to help me with this also. I am looking for a right side upper fairing cover, the one that holds the speaker and right side components. It doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd like one that is all there. This '83 I'm playing with right now needs one in a bad way as it's pretty much all gone and broken. If any of you brothers can help me out I'd appreciate it
  2. Of all things... Westboro Baptist Church is planning to picket the Shady Hook school funerals. I pray our brothers prevent this travesty. Report
  3. A man goes to a bar, sets at the corner table alone, and orders three beers. The bartender notices the man takes a drink from one glass, then the second, then the third. The bartender offers to bring the drinks one at a time, but the man refuses, "You see," says the man, "I have two brothers fighting in Iraq. Before they left we agreed that when any of us had the chance to drink a beer, he would drink one for the brothers as well." This went on every night for several months until one evening the man came in, obviously distraught, and ordered two beers. The bartender went over to offer his condolences for the loss of a brother. The man says "Oh no, my brothers are both fine. But my wife has got religion and says I can't drink any more. That's got nothing to do with my brothers though.":no-no-no:
  4. Thought you'd sneak this one in under the radar, did you? Well... , Lilsis! May you have many more! Hey, what are brothers for?
  5. Five brothers went off to fight for our freedoms in WWII. One of them was my father, Owen Sr. On this Memorial Day, May 31, 2010, the surviving Quarles veteran brothers Bob, Carey and Carson honor, remember and pay tribute to their deceased veteran brothers, Owen and Lewis: Lewis E. Quarles was a tail gunner in the Navy. He survived being shot down twice during World War II. He passed away on December 15, 2001. Owen F. Quarles fought on the front line in Germany as an infantry soldier. Only through the grace of God was Owen able to return home alive. Owen suffered the scars of front line fighting for the rest of his life after the World War II. On the night of his death on October 3, 2001, he heard bombs blasting and guns blazing out side his hospital room. Some times there are worse things than dying. May God bless the service of all the men and women who are serving and have served this Country in the military. May their service and dedication be honored and remembered with reverence. It is the VETERAN , not the preacher, who has Given us freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN , not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN , not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the VETERAN , not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble. It is the VETERAN , not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the VETERAN , not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote. 6. I think I finally figured out how to share pic's! Maybe... This is my brother's tour deluxe with fairing. In my opinion it's better looking than my RSV front end. Please work!

  10. Hello motorcycle brothers and sisters. Iam new to this forum so please be gentle. I own a 1998 royal star tour deluxe with 12,500 miles that i bought used last year. It has a shudder while shifting through the gears on hard acceleration and in od on moderate to heavy acceleration from 50 mph. The clutch is not slipping has plenty of power but shudder's,you can feel it in the seat and handle bars. Did not know if this is nature of the beast for that year or if i am having issues. It has done this from day one. Any help on this would fantastic or if anyone else has had this problem.
  11. Hey gang. I've posted elsewhere on this site about an annual trip me and my 4 brothers do every year before Easter. 2008 was year 5, and in the name of technology one of my brothers decided to mount a video camera on his Harley and film some of our ride. He's pretty tricky with A/V stuff, and he produced this little gem. Just to give you some stats - our ages range from 42 to 56. We live in different parts of the east of Australia, with the 2 brothers furtherest apart being separated by over 1,000 kms. So this year we met in the middle at a place called Stanthorpe, just over the border in Queensland. The bikes involved are my 2004 RSV, a 2007 Harley, a 2004 Harley, a 1998 Harley and a 1983 Honda Super Bol d'or. Enjoy - and I hope it loads okay for you. http://www.members.ceinternet.com.au:80/tpearson/assets/Stanthorpe.WMV
  12. I am leaving in the morning for a road trip to north west Iowa to visit family. I plan to hook up with my brothers and ride into south west Minnesota. I will be back on Monday 9/1.

    On tour

Greetings all. Wanted to share a quick shot one of my brothers took of me during our long weekend trip before Easter. Five brothers and 5 bikes. For the Aussies, this is on the New England Highway just north of Armidale NSW.
  14. My 2003 Venture has a problem with the battery going flat after it sits for around 12 to 14 days. The charging system is working fine. If I ride at least once a week, I never have a problem. But let is sit two weeks.... dead battery. I replaced original battery with an Odyssey brand recently and scenario is the same. My brothers 2006 V-Max does the exact same thing. Do any of you have any experience/fix for this problem, or any ideas (other than ride it at least once a week)?
  15. Greetings all, Just back from a weekend away with my 4 brothers. Thought I'd share a couple of photos with you. Shot 1 is the 5 of us - the 2004 RSV, 3 Hardlies and a Honda 1100 Super bol d'or. All up nearly 7 litres of engine capacity in 14 cylinders. Nobody has stock pipes, and boy did we turn heads as we slowly rumbled through the countryside. Shot 2 is yours truly. Shot 3 is typical of the countryside around where I live. I'm about 3 hours from home here. And no - we do not ride on the right side of the road. I just wanted to pull up in the shade for a drink and leak. Enjoy.
  16. Permit me if I may to share some family photos with you - a little bit of history included. What do YOU have to share, if possible? Enjoy these. The first shot is of my Dad in 1946 on his old Harley. Next is me in 1971 on my brother's AJS (with a Matchless 650 twin motor). Then me again in 2004 prior to a weekend away on my 1972 K2 Honda 750/4 with my brothers. Finally - hey! What more can I say?
  17. My brother is bedridden with M.S. Yesterday I came home late to find a phone message to call him. I found out that some lowlife POS broke into my brother's home while my brother's wife and daughter were out, ransacked the house looking for cash and valuables to fence and was not satisfied with that.....he attacked my brother stabbing him in the legs numerous times and even tried to slit his throat while wrestling him from his bed. Luckily the knife that stupid brought with him wasn't sharp, so my brother's wounds weren't too serious and he was treated and released from the hospital. What kind of world is this? Needless to say, I would like to find this guy myself and save the local PD the touble of an investigation and trial. Anyway, sorry to unload my problems.....just had to get it out.
