  1. I don't post very often but I do read a lot. I have been diagnosed with "Relapsing Polychondritis". That is an autoimmune disease that attacks and destroys the cartilage of various tissues of the body. We finally have it under control. I plan to put a side car on the bike so we can keep riding. Good news is my wife and I have retired. We bought a farm in Mountain View, Mo and are selling our house in Grain Valley, MO. We are in the process of moving to the farm to enjoy the country life.
  2. My wife and i were riding to work this morning about 5:30. We were crusing about 50 mph through a curve when 4 deer suddenly jumped out of the ditch in front of us. I hit the brakes and managed to thread our way through the deer without hitting any. There was only about a bike length between the deer. I had to stop and wait until I quit shaking so we could continue the trip. The car behind us stopped and stated that he did not believe we made it through without hitting any deer.

  7. I had a bout with Bells Palsy in February and have had the ringing in my ears since. the Dr. said that there was nothing I could do about it. It can be annoying when it is quiet. It take a while to get to sleep at night because of it.
  8. A while ago I posted that I was frustrated with my dealer about fixing my bike. Two months later I get it back. To make a long story short. The problem was that the bike would start as soon as you turned the key on. I did not have to touch the start button. The replaced the starter relay, solenoid, and handle bar switch still had the problem. They decided to trace the wires to check for bad wiring. The mechanic spent 25 hours and found an 18 inch section of the wiring harness was bad. The replaced the complete wiring harness. Still had the problem. They called in a Yamaha tech who spent one day on the bike. He was puzzled never saw this problem before. They replaced the entire wiring harness in the fairing but still did not fix the problem. After several techs and non techs traced more wiring they found the problem to be in the radio amp power supply. They put in a new amp and the problem has been fixed and all is good again.
  9. Since my bike is still in the shop getting a new complete wiring harness installed, We will be taking the cage and camper out to Moab, Utah for 10 days. We will be camping hiking, rafting, and sight seeing around the Arches and Canyon Lands.
  10. USAF Sargent 1966-1970 Udorn, Thiland (1969-1970) Transportation(Shipping and Receiving) Currently working for USDA Kansas City, MO.
  11. In early July my 08 RSV developed a problem with the starter electronics. When you turn the key on, the bike will start and the starter will stay ingaged without touching the starter switch. Since it is under warrantee I took it to the shop. They have had the bike for over a month now. They have replaced the starter selenoid, a relay, and the handle bar switch. The bike still does the same thing. I told them I thought it was a short in the wiring. Their response was there are miles on wire on the bike and they do not know where to start looking. The have contacted the Yamaha service tech for adivse. But at this time they do not know when they will get the the bike fixed and back to me. The weather is perfect for riding and I have no bike to ride.
  12. The front end wobble could also be caused by under inflated tire.
  13. Leatherup.com has several pair of ladies motorcylce boots at good prices. I got a pair of boots from them and the service was great. The boots are a good quality and comfortable.
  14. There is a KOA camp ground in Spearfish. The tent sites run from $25 to $28 per night.
