  1. 2009 RSV. The previous owner replaced the self cancelling relay with one that does not cancel. I have the original, and would like to put it back in. I keep forgetting to cancel the turn signal myself. No answers last time I asked this, so maybe it is too stupid a question to bother with.
  2. We have a family gathering at a sister-in law's condo today, about a 15 minute drive. 8:05 AM, I ask my wife, "What time are we due at Cindy's?" The answer----hang on, here it comes---- "We can't go until the potatoes are done." Now, I'm 75 years old, on my second and last marriage. I've been getting answers similar to this from the both of 'em since 1964. All this experience and I still do not understand the logic of our precious ladies. HELP!

  6. Warden and I had a strange conversation this morning. Even stranger than usual. I was talking about info I got on here and she asked "What makes you trust the info you get on there so much??" It took me a minute to answer. And my answer was a little lame. We learn to trust folks on here because??? I know I do and most of the time it is because they are proven right again and again. We speak from mostly experience. There are some very knowledgeable people on here and this is the first place I look for answers anymore. I even read some of what "he" writes and will admit he mostly knows what he is talking about. I said mostly. I see bad answers on here but they are usually corrected quickly. If you have questions about a thread most of the time just ask or wait and read and it will explain itself. Don't know what brought this on but I really appreciate what I've learned here. I've always wrenched my own things and this site has been a fantastic help. Not much I'm afraid to try on these beasts now!! Why do we trust the info we get here??? OK I'm done. thats about as close as I will ever come to saying "Thank you all for being here"
  7. Anyone doing online contests? I am doing the fiat USA Facebook contest and the fox.com/Alcatraz contest for a new mustang. I missed the 1st round so working on the 2nd round. I got the the 1st answer (puzzle 16) and couldn't figure out the rest. I think of myself as a smart person but these things I haven't got a clue. Thankfully there are folks out there that have figured it out and posted the answers and explanations in most cases. Even after the answers are explained I still have no clue how to solve it after trying to reverse engineer the puzzles.
  8. Got back from a week's vacation with everything working fine on the bike. Got ready to go on a 3-day run and the audio control box would not work. So, no radio, no audio, or CB. Also, the trip meter and the clock resets itself every time you start the bike. I have checked fuses and found no problems there. Any ideas as to what is going on? Looking for answers.

  10. CIGARETTES AND TAMPONS A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up & down the aisles.. The sales girl notice s him and asks him if she can help him.. He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife... She directs him down the correct aisle. A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter. She says, confused, 'Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife? He answers, 'You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooo-ooo--oo- ooo much cheaper... So, I figure if I have to roll my own ........... so does she
  11. My 2008 came with visors on the headlight and the turnsignals/driving lights. I never have liked the look. Was the first thing I changed. Anyone want a set to put to use? I don't want to sell, just a thanks for the answers received already. Frank
  12. 20 questions you might find on a learner's test for a driver's license ... could you pass with 100% ?? http://autos.ca.msn.com/editors-picks/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=28010183&page=1 Well, I totally disagree with one of the answers ... which one do you think it is? Assuming I got that one right, then I got 2 wrong for a 90% .
  13. I have satellite internet (all I can get where I live)...there is a limit on the amount of data that I can download in a 24 hour period. My question: when I view something posted that goes to sites like youtube, is this considered downloading? Also, I don't fully understand "streaming". Are the youtube videos "streaming"...are they "downloading"? I know I could call my IP, but I know I will get straight answers from you all...and I can get answers in English that I can understand. Thanks in advance.
  14. I've been a member of this sight for a couple of years. I haven't met many of you, but I feel like I know you. The people here are always helpful no matter what you need help with. I recently bought a Harley, and thought I would check out the Harley forums. I won't name the forum, but it seems like no matter what the question over there you always get a lot of sarcastic answers, or are just plain mean to the OP. If someone asks a question about why choose a HD over another brand, you get one of those "If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand" answers. I'm just saying we're luck to have a better class of people here. After reading Eck's "VR saved my life" post, it got me thinking about it. There are lots of things I'd like to learn about the new ride. I'd like to find a forum like this one dedicated to touring Harleys, but I don't know if one exists.

  16. Thinking bout buying K&N filters for my 08 RSV and wondering if anyone could tell me if they really raise the HP or make it feel like its breathing better? I put one on a V-8 Dodge Dakota and could not tell any difference. Also, where would be a good place to buy them? Thought I would tap the vast knowledge pool that we have here for answers. Thanks, Glenn
  17. Let's hear your best "It's so cold out"..... It's so cold out only guys with names like Al or Ed have time to write their name in the snow...... ought to be good to see some of these answers

  19. Just been thinking that I might also enjoy having a Trike Kit installed on my RSV and would apprediate some honest answers to a few questions that comes to mind. 1. What is the brand of yours? 2. Do you truly like and enjoy it? 3. Is there anything in particular that you dislike about it? 4. Do you feel in control at all times? 5. Do you feel any safer now than you did on 2 wheels? 6. Do you have that Proud feeling, like "Busting your Buttons"? Or just always smiling! 7. Is turning corners on city streets any problems? 8. Is it hard to steer at all? 9. How efficient are the rear brakes? 10. Have you ever tipped it up on 2 wheels? 11. Can you push it backwards fairly easy? 12. How much did it reduce your gas mileage? Man, that's a lot of questions! I hope that I'm not being too inquisitive and I thank you for the answers! Owen.

  21. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at VentureRider, for you help, answers and recommendations, I just finish with my bike. I replaced the handle bars with the Flanders, new brake lines and cables, they work fantastic. At 5'7" now I do not have to reach forward anymore. I used the complete OEM grips assembly and they worked out perfectly. I replaced the OEM mufflers with a pair of Harley touring ones (without drilling anything out) I picked up on e-bay. I used the 31-9920 clamps and they are perfect. A friend manufactured the bracket out of aluminum and polished it too. Everything went on just as I have read here. Now I have the sound I was looking for. Yes here are the pictures. Thanks again everyone!! BTW thank you to also Don for your help as well as the site. I do not know of anyone other than another Venture Rider can tell that anything was done. Mission accomplished.
  22. I am looking to mount my TomTom Go910 and have picked out the proper Ram mount. My question is how/what do I use to make the electrical hookup to the rear of the unit. All I have is the bar shaped mount that is attached to the windshield suction cup mount. Appreciate any input. The TomTom site is useless for any answers.
