  1. My mechanic tried everything. slime, silicone, aired up many times. He took it off of the rim and I polished it and tried again. Now it is sitting near the wood stove with approx 60+ lbs of air in it for the night. One side just won't go no matter what. Maybe the heat will do it. If that doesn't work, I'm going to take it to the tire store and see if they will use their blaster on it. If that doesn't work I'm taking my heat gun to the shop and we'll try that. I'm listening__________
  2. Please go to the calendar and add your name if you plan to attend. Here is the link to the event on our calendar. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=337&day=2013-6-8&c=1 For those who don't know anything about Maintenance Day, I just added some information here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73841 EVERYBODY is welcome. It doesn't matter if you have been a member for 4 years or 4 days, we would love for you to join us.
  3. Since I just picked up this 85 Royale I have a question regarding the "intercom". The intercom shows on the audio controls but I do not see any plugs for it for the head gear. Is there any easy way to tap in, or for that matter to actually know if they bike is equipped with an intercom system? newbie thanks you Scott
  4. Lately when I try to put some pressure into my suspension, according to the class, the pressure goes up kind of fast but the bike doesn't go up at all. The first time this happened, it worked fine 6 or 7 miles later down the road. I'm not getting any kind of error code or anything. This happens on the front or rear, doesn't matter. Any ideas? Thanks, Bill
  5. I have always wanted to fly "OLD GLORY" on my bike, but have heard from others stories of broken antenna mast's one after the other. Has anyone come up with a solution to this matter?
  6. Hey All, just wanted to say a Big Thank You to Freebird for all he does, and for allowing me to post my bike for sale, even though it is not a Venture. Since joining here years ago I have always liked this site with all the wonderful people. No matter what I ride, I always feel welcome here, and it is truly because of the ones in charge, so Thanks Again Don. Later-
  7. This is one list I would rather not be a part of........I live close to #6, TOO CLOSE as a matter of fact!!! http://www.thedailybeast.com/galleries/2010/12/10/america-s-25-coldest-cities.html
  8. Please go to our rally planners section....I need your input on a matter......
  9. Would like some feedback from those who ride 2up. New to site here, been riding a honda vtx1300S last few years, wife just recently riding along more so looking for a better ride for her mostly in particular on longer trips. Any others from a x1300 background as to how the venture compares at highway speeds or any other areas for that matter. I have looked at GW, HD, etc but giving the venture a look. Smoother ride with the v4, more room to stretch out (compared to GW, sport/touring bikes, etc. I'm 6'2"). I'm in the early stages of looking so any constructive comments welcome and appreciated.
  10. i had enough. decided to remove class. controller kept showing e4, no matter how many time i checked and resolder joints. no matter how many times i cleaned connections and checked wiring. no matter how many times i yelled at it. it just is junk. so off to the hardware stores i went! first, removed class compressor at 2 air line bolts. unhooked wiring, and junked it. then cut off old fittings. tapered air hose about 1/2 inch to get compression fittings on easier. cut off taper for clean look. used locktite 545 (hydraulic) to assemble fittings. did for both sides. i wasnt sure which was for which, so i put air in sloooowly. front of bike jumped into air and nearly scared me to death! set at 15psi. next rear( i only know its rear because of previous near-death experience). set at 52psi. im 220lbs. price of parts: $17.00 time took: 2 hrs(newbie, take it easy people) being able to cancel fitting for straight-jacket: priceless.
  11. I have a 2006 RSV. In the last day I have used my vacum pump to flush my rear brake and clutch and now getting ready to flush out my front brakes. Does it matter what caliper I flush first? Any thoughts/tips/suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
  12. Ok I have a set of brake pads that have slots on one side which side goes on which or does it matter?
  13. Mel

    Go dawgs!

Some of you will understand, some won't. If you don't, trust me, it doesn't matter.
  14. http://f814.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=1%5f10094%5fAIjHjkQAAXk1TQuFNwDBuR%2fKZ18&pid=2.2&fid=Inbox&inline=1 The woman, applying for a job in a Florida lemon grove, seemed to be far too qualified for the job. The foreman frowned and said, "I have to ask you this: "Have you had any actual experience in picking lemons?" "Well, as a matter of fact, I have!" "I've been divorced five times, owned 8 Chryslers, and I voted for eck
  15. Our area at the Michigan meet&Eat at Maxie's will have it's own pool table. So I will have a trophy made up and we will have a single elimination pool tournament. Does NOT matter if you ever played before of not, smack them balls and see where they land. Winner gets a trophy and bragging rights. Now as far as letting me know who is attending or not. The only reason I wanted a number of people attending is for the special menu. Mike Abraham is a gourmet cook and I wanted some of his razzle dazzle specialize creations to tantalize your taste buds. BUT if the comment number is low I will have him make up a simple menu. Does not matter if you say you are attending of not, last minute attendees are welcome. Now I'm going all out on this to make it the best M&E I can so hope all you can make it. Hoping to make it an annual thing. See you all on the 15th....Karl:fatsmiley: Updates on Hotel rates soon.
  16. I've been a member of this sight for a couple of years. I haven't met many of you, but I feel like I know you. The people here are always helpful no matter what you need help with. I recently bought a Harley, and thought I would check out the Harley forums. I won't name the forum, but it seems like no matter what the question over there you always get a lot of sarcastic answers, or are just plain mean to the OP. If someone asks a question about why choose a HD over another brand, you get one of those "If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand" answers. I'm just saying we're luck to have a better class of people here. After reading Eck's "VR saved my life" post, it got me thinking about it. There are lots of things I'd like to learn about the new ride. I'd like to find a forum like this one dedicated to touring Harleys, but I don't know if one exists.
  17. A RSV Trunk and mounting bracket, either or ??? Color does not matter. Send me a PM. Star4772 :fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo
  18. I've been thinking maybe it's time to park the trailer and find another less physically demanding job. don't get me wrong, I like working outside by myself and for myself, but the knees are going, so are the wrists and back, it's just a matter of time .... Now if i could find some simple work at home job on the computer, that might just be the ticket. anyone got suggestions??
  19. Is there any advantage, or disadvantage for that matter, to one over the other? I've been looking a little bit on the net and forums, but they don't go into any specifics. I'm assuming radials would handle better. Am I wrong? Or is it simply a matter of personal preference? Thanks, Bill
  20. Does anyone have a head light frame they don't need? I want to install a Tribar lens on the Venture headlight frame, but don't want to destroy my stocker. It doesn't matter if the lens is cracked or broken, I'm going to break it out anyway. Thanks, Ponch
  21. Everything works, engine spinns over but will not fire. Don't know where to look or what to look at for that matter. Shop said to bring it on in, we'll only charge you $85 to check it out.
  22. Hey Folks, One of our members here Jack Tharpe (Zfrebird4) out of Ft. Collins Colorado is looking to find the 4 way emergency flasher switch on my former '86. If anyone has an extra one or knows where he could get one could you please post it here or PM him. Thanks for your help in this matter....Squid
  23. Don (Freebird), if you feel this to be a political post and has no place here, please feel free to delete it and I apologize for using this forum for it. Having said that, I invite all my fellow British Columbia Venturerider members (and anyone else for that matter) to join me (and many others) in protest of our government's plan to bring in the HST (Harmonized Sales Tax). Following are some links on this subject including an on-line petition. It doesn't matter IMHO who you voted for, this particular petition is being put forth by the offical opposition party. I have never before spoken out or up or have been so "active" in any protest be it political or otherwise in my life but this continual tax grabbing by governments, etc has got to stop somewhere. http://www.bcndpcaucus.ca/en/node/2748 http://www.bcndpcaucus.ca/en/
  24. My wife heard such a clatter she threw open the window to what was the matter and then ran to get her camera to photograph what she saw http://elisabethviola.blogspot.com/2009/07/santa-rides-crotch-rocket.html
  25. I bought a set of RK pipes and one has a Cat. I'm concerned about uneven back pressure on my 2005 RSV I just got. How deep does the Cat go and what size hole should be drilled through it ? Also does it matter on the RSV which side the dimple on the RK Pipe faces. If not I can just buy a single pipe without the CAT. There some poeple on EBAY selling the pipes separately. So I can use 2 lefts or 2 rights which ever does not have the Cat if it doesnt matter which way the dimple faces.
