I had a Street Pilot III wired with Kennedy Tech cable into the intercom on my RSV. That way I would get GPS directions over my headset while leaving the stereo / CD Player / And Aux port free. I just got a Street Pilot 2730 and dont see any benefit of getting another Kennedy Tech cable for it because the 2730 has an MP3 player and XM Radio and I cant separate that from the GPS Directions. With that said should I just use the 2730's audio out port and plug it into my AUX port or is there a way to separate the GPS directions from the MP3 and XM Radio audio ? If I do that then I can not listen to the radio or CD player if I want to hear the GPS Directions. Am I getting this right ? It also has an FM Modulator but that will give me the same results.

I have two different problems on my 2005 RSV. 1. When I plug my MP3 Player into the Aux Jack it seems that something inside is loose and I loose the connection. If I jiggle the wire a bit I get the connection back. Bumps also effect the connection. How do I tighten things up inside of the Aux Jack ? 2.Separate from that my entire sound systems locks up every now and then and I have to shut it down and turn it back on to unlock. At the same time my transmit button sticks on the CB and stops the system form working. I sprayed in electric contact spray and that stopped the PTT button problem but the system still locks up every now and then. I do have my Garmin Street Pilot III hooked up to the sound system inside of the fairing but dont remember if the system locked up or not before that.

After fighting with the light bar (I had to get hex bolts so I could finish my misthread) I Think I will leave it the way it is.

Hi Guys Not getting any answers on the Audio Forum. I am hooking up an Old Garmin StreetPilot III to my 2005 RSV. I read somewhere on the site to break open the The 5 pin din inside the fairing with the red tape on it. I have it hooked up and the Garmin Lady will announce through my headset only and not the speakers and the radio or CB will not mute when she talks. I figured out the red tape one is the intercom. Does the intercom normally mute the radio when you talk ? Can I get inbetween another set of 5 pin dins that will let me hear the Garmin Directions and mute the music or CB when she talks ?

I just aquired a 2005 RSV. Fantastic Bike although I will miss the speed of my "For Sale Valkyrie" I am trying to install a Garmin Stree Pilot III and took all the screws out of the inside of the fairing and it wont budge. Can someone tell me where the tabs are located and how to split off the fairing without breaking anythig ? I need to get into the 5 pin Din inside the fairing. I tried geting in between the passenger Din under the rear seat but it did not work. Could not hear the Garmin Lady on my headset or speakers. I did not find how to split the fairing in any of the Service Manuals or Parts List. Any help would be appreciate. Pictures even better !!!! Dave Nager X Goldwing & Valkyrie Rider Lovin the RSV !

I bought a set of RK pipes and one has a Cat. I'm concerned about uneven back pressure on my 2005 RSV I just got. How deep does the Cat go and what size hole should be drilled through it ? Also does it matter on the RSV which side the dimple on the RK Pipe faces. If not I can just buy a single pipe without the CAT. There some poeple on EBAY selling the pipes separately. So I can use 2 lefts or 2 rights which ever does not have the Cat if it doesnt matter which way the dimple faces.

I am installing a Garmin Street Pilot III on a 2005 RSV. Where is the other end of the drivers 5 pin DIN connector ? Under tank ? under Seat ? or in the fairing ? Thanks Dave N.
