I am happy to report that I am getting close to Log In almost 3000 miles this Winter season and my Venture will need another Oil Change. (wish I had more miles:cold:) This coming weekend, Oil Change, Oil Filter, Synch Carbs, and check idle will be done in my garage. Riding season for most folks is coming soon. Give your ride a brand new 'Oil Transfusion'. Ride safe.

I may be able to make that date, April 18, 2009. It has been very busy at work, but if weather permits...I will be there. Keep us posted as the date gets near.

Personally, it will depend on how old the tire is. If the tire has less than 5K miles, I may take the risk and have it plugged. However, I would never run a plugged tire that is almost bald. * Check your air pressure constantly as necessary and ride safe.

I just had a feeling that there is a good reason why Yamaha designed to have the Carbs heated. My carbs will remain in tact and not disconnecting anything in there.

I agree. Get it done soon, because dealers are starting to get busy with the start of the riding season. Warranty shall cover your problem. It was so nice today that I spent most of my day washing off salt from my cars and polished the bike. Rode for about an hour running errands today... -

I personally like having a neutral light that function as it was designed for. I don't want to find out that I am not actually in Neutral, when I release the clutch in my garage:Sad_0241:. +1 on taking it back to a Yamaha dealer for a Warranty work. Good Luck. -
I always choke in cold temps and it fires right up. Normally, I'll put the choke to its normal position after a minute of idling. After 4 to 5 minutes, my ride is ready to go. Take V7Goose's advise, it will point you to the right direction.

bill739, I know you will agree that salt air will cause rust to develop on your bike. If I lived in Florida, I would be cleaning my bike almost every day or every other day depending on the amount or riding. Keep up with the cleaner and polisher on the bike. I would give the bike a nice wash at least every month and maintain a steady regiment of polish on the frame, chrome, etc. This is a good way to spend more time with your ride daily. Regards.

You live in the same State as Goose...he may be able to help you make a decision. Personally, 100K is a lot of miles but the deciding factor as mentioned before is the price and mechanical condition of the bike.

Not sure why these switches are having problems. I wonder if most of the switch problem occurs after 5 years and the bike is out of Warranty. (just my luck) The first time I washed my bike, I made sure that I do not get the top portion wet especially near the speakers / dash area. Good to know that a write-up exist.

Your best bet is too listen to yourself. If you are overworked and stressed out, the immune system's ability to fight infection is greatly diminished. Then you won't be able to enjoy riding, attend rallies, work on your Venture, etc. I keep on telling myself, I'd rather be poor than sick. My consolation, I don't have to listen to a wife...I am single.

Hmmmm, not bad at all. The Venture does look sharp even without the Trunk. I do like the look even with the Harley rear lights. But, if you decide to get rid of it...I am interested to be the 2nd owner of your rear lights.

She should have lost her license long time ago with all those tickets. Somebody...please sue her! Take her off the road for good.

I've been keeping an eye on the Nolan N103 that J&M sells + the correct harness cable for the Venture. J&M have them for sale with the the headset already installed in the helmet...about $500.00 bucks. I wear prescription glasses, so taking on and off the helmet should be easier instead of taking off my glasses all the time with my current FF. My son may inherit my Arai FF this coming riding season.

I change brake pads on my cars with calipers and/or drums. I've never done it on a motorcycle, but I would imagine it is similar.

Don't loose faith. I got mine on Ebay...'07 with 1 mile on the odometer. Luckily, the dealership was only 400 miles away.

Sorry to hear about your speeding ticket. I take it easy these days...cops are very thirsty to give speeding tickets especially in this worldwide economy situation. If you use the Insanity defense...they might take away your bike. Ride safe and we all learn from our mistakes. Regards.
