  1. My buddy is a Calibration Engr. with our organization and he may just be able to shed some light to this matter.
  2. I have the Morgan Carbtune and have used it twice with no problems. I will be more concerned with the condition of the rubber hoses after a few years or perhaps after using it 10 times or more. It is just like the rubber caps on the carbs...they deteriorate over time.
  3. Craig, I just intend to use these lights are Run and Brake Lights only. From your reply, I will just look for the Blue and Yellow wire on the RSV...but I need to verify which color wire is the Run and Brake wires on the Harley 68230-97b. Thank You.
  4. Hello Craig. Are the wires located right on the plate holder? Have not really looked until I remove the plate holder on my '07.
  5. Not sure why the link that I add is no longer there. I just completed the transaction and paid for it today. Perhaps you can search eBay via the Item #. It is the Harley Touring Light Chrome Rear Auxilliary Light
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170318869042&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&viewitem= Hope this link works.
  7. I also had just replaced my oil and is good for another 2500 miles. Rotella T is always available at my local SAMs and Walmart stores. I now have 10W40 moto oil (Valvoline), but I am really tempted to use Rotella T 15W40 this summer. Please assure me that I will not have any problems by using Rotella T on my Venture. I've never really experienced any clutch slippage and I don't really want to find out the hard way.
  8. I won this used License Plate Holder with Lights (Item# 170318869042) and I am wondering if there is an LED lamp available bright enough for the application (68230-97b). What would be the color of the wire I should be looking for inside the license plate holder area to connect to the assembly? Is this a straight bolt on? Tips please.
  9. Yes, I agree. Adding accessories will never end.
  10. I've never really thought about switching hoses after my initial carb synch. The next time I do my carbs, I may as well give it a try and see the variation. So far, I've never had any problems and synching my carbs seems to help a lot on performance and peace of mind.
  11. My V Ride is headed West. I've never been as far Ohio and beyond. Anywhere West shall be a true adventure. Donation sent...Enjoy the Ride.
  12. Awesome mileage you've put in your '07 (60K) in 2 years. Where have you gone having put in that many miles. Yep, the RSV sure does love to rev high. You can't go wrong with a Venture + this Forum = Rider Satisfication
  13. Hmmmm. Looks like this is only for the plastic part not including the bracket. At this time, I am deciding whether to get Blue or Black. (leaning towards the Black for now).
  14. Hello Bluesees. I think I know what you are going through right now. Just like my Venture, I did its very first oil change and just as I was going to loosen the oil drain plug...it would not budge. I tried all my might and did the 'cheater bar' thing and it still would not budge...I was also afraid that I might break the whole bolt and that would be my worst nightmare. After spending 20-30 minutes trying to figure out how to loosen it...I finally decided to just use my air gun and hopefully the bolt would turn. I gave the bolt one small shot of the air gun ...success. If this is the first time your are changing the oil on a brand new bike, Yamaha sure does make those oil drain plugs very very tight.
  15. I love to have this rig installed on my Venture, but there will be no way that I will leave the radio mounted and the bike by itself waiting to be stolen. Not sure if I can easily hook it on and off the bike and then walk away just like my GPS unit. The rig has great potential and I'll be checking it out in person with my buddy once we get to take a ride to HRO over in Delaware. 73
  16. Happy Easter to everyone. Church in the morning and then fight the crowd for Brunch. Ride Safe.
  17. Is this the same size as the OEM lowers?
  18. At least you don't have to shovel your way out of the snow. It is April and grass is growing in our area. We also had a small bout of snow three days ago, but I really think it was 'fake' snow. Once the sun came up, it melted all of them. I'm not sure what your normal temperature is this time of the day, but I hope snow shall be over soon in your neck of the woods. Ride safe.
  19. I really like that product. This may be Bluesman's best alternative based on his current location. If I am not mistaken, you can actually make the 'cycleshell' have a semi-permanent protection as it can be secured on the ground. Just be ready to haul that 72 lbs. cover in the garage once you ride away on a nice day.
  20. That is what I am very afraid off. I've been having nightmares about that.
  21. If I was in that situation, my next best alternative would be to build a separate small garage for the bike close to the driveway. My co-worker after having to live in an apartment for years and recently purchased an RSTD, he is now in the process of closing on his first house for the sake of his bike.
  22. Enjoy the test ride. For your height, you should not have any problems. Personally, I do not find it difficult to ride around town and is definitely so fun to ride on the highways. The bike is well balanced and I do not plan to do any mechanical mods to it. Let us know what you think after the test ride.
  23. So how can we prevent this pin from failing?
  24. If that was me, I probably would have made a decision based on how many miles the trip will be and how much tread life the rear tire has. If the rear tire has some life left on the tread, I may just go ahead and use it and perhaps change tires along the way (find a moto shop). It is very scary to be riding on the highway with no more tread left on your rear tire. As far as my rear tire is concerned, I am closing in 4K miles and it still looks good. This riding season, I will try to be easy on the throttle in order to extend the life of my tire.
  25. I've never been to Seattle, but I've heard that it does rain a lot over there. Glad to hear of 3 nice rain free days has come. Enjoy the ride.
