  1. Marcie has had more and more angina lately so her cardiologist scheduled another cath last Thursday and the results were not good to say the least. Two of the bypasses from her triple bypass surgery from eight years ago where 100 percent dead. One of the front arteries has 5 blockages from 80-90 percent blocked and the good one is 50 percent blocked. They are going to leave that one alone for now and do hopefully 2 or 3 bypasses. The 3 doctors we talked to said this is very high risk but the best solution. So Marcie is scheduled for surgery on Monday morning. Please keep Marcie in your thoughts and prayers. We can use all the help. Randy On a good note, we became grandparents again last night as my son and his fiancé had a baby boy. Baby Jack is 6.6 lbs and 19.5 ins.
  2. I received a coupon code, 55633, today with a Leatherup.com order. Good for 10 percent off. Ya'll use it if you would like.
  3. For years I've been interested in Geothermal units. We bit the bullet and are in the process of having it installed. Last week they drilled three 175 foot wells. This week they bored into our basement with the main line and hooked the three wells together. Next week the Geo unit goes in. It has been fun to watch each step. The best news is we get a 30 percent tax credit and to a 20 percent rebate from our utility company! We are saving 1/2. People ask what our payback will be - well, our old system needed to be upgraded so for almost the cost of a conventional heat system we have Geothermal.
  4. I don't make it to the rally in Harrison, AR. I've read and read the articles about adjusting the float levels in several posts so I finally convinced myself I should at the very least check them. So I now have RSV parts strung all over two garages. I hope I remember where all them little parts go. I'm mostly just kidding but I did take them apart and adjust the level and pretty much followed Goose's write up about it. I do wish he would correct the picture so that it shows the proper way of checking the floats. Anyway mine were not to bad I guess, two of the floats were .22 and the other two were .28. I now have them adjusted to what I think is .34 if I am measuring them right. I do not have the bike back together but I have a lot of confidence it will be fine. The thing I'm really looking forward to is the 10 percent increase in gas mileage that Goose promised. BOO

  6. Yamaha Motor Cuts Profit Forecast on Weak U.S. July 31 (Bloomberg) -- Yamaha Motor Co., the world's second-largest motorcycle maker, reduced its fiscal full-year net income forecast 23 percent because of falling demand in the U.S. for large motorcycles. The shares dropped the most in more than five months. The company cut its forecast to 45 billion yen ($416.8 million) from an earlier prediction of 59 billion yen, it said in a statement today. Sales will be 1.72 trillion yen, 6 percent lower than the initial forecast. Yamaha expects its first decline in operating profit in eight years after U.S. sales of Royal Star Venture and Roadliner motorcycles dropped 22 percent in the first half. Record gasoline prices and the lowest consumer confidence in 16 years has eroded U.S. demand for the $17,000 bikes. ``Yamaha is taking a severe hit from the economic downturn in the U.S.,'' said Koji Endo, a senior analyst at Credit Suisse Group in Tokyo, who rates the company ``neutral''. ``Demand for big touring motorcycles and boats is drying up.'' Net income in the second quarter plunged 85 percent to 3.6 billion yen, according to Bloomberg calculations. Sales dropped 4.2 percent in the period. Yamaha fell as much as 9.7 percent to 1,761 yen as of 12:30 p.m. on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The shares have fallen 34 percent so far this year compared with a 13 percent drop in the benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average. Motorcycle Sales Motorcycle sales in Japan dropped 23 percent in the first half. In Europe, sales fell 12 percent. In Asia, excluding Japan, sales gained 27 percent. That failed to boost earnings as the smaller bikes the company sells in Indonesia and Vietnam have lower profit margins. The company said it will cut full-year domestic motorcycle production 20 percent compared with a year earlier in response to the slow-down. ``There's no end in sight to the severe conditions,'' said Kozo Shinozaki, the company's general manager of finance and accounting. Earnings also fell because of a stronger yen against the dollar and the euro. The stronger currency cut 15 billion yen in operating profit in the first half.
