  1. Don't forget to itemize your expenses.
  2. After over 4K miles, my rear Bridgestones still has lots of tread life. (knocking on wood) I don't have any real complaints on the OEM tires to date. Ride safe.
  3. That is the kind of emblem I don't mind putting on the side of my bike.
  4. Hey, that sounds like workman's compensation at work. Hope you heal soon. Tell your workplace to get yourself a Trike loaner. At least you can still type on the computer. Regards.
  5. I also have the Yamaha Trunk Spoiler, but even with the LED's not as bright...I still like them. As suggested, down the road I may go ahead and replaced the LED strips with brighter LEDs ones one or two LEDs malfunction. To supplement the rear lighting, I installed Custom Dynamics LEDs on the rear light and installed the Harley Aux Light Plate Holder and installed LED clusters in them including LED clusters on all turn signals.
  6. The same tire manufacturer but sounds like the Elite 3 series has the least problems. I've had D404s on a bike and it was on a lighter Vulcan cruiser and was able to get 15K miles on the rear. Right now, I am sold with the Elite 3s when the time comes to change out the rear. Knowing that the GW also use Elite 3s...that can be a good assurance that the tire will hold up if you carry a lot of weight.
  7. I want to be his friend as well.
  8. And can almost feel what you are feeling right now. Excitement! Have fun with the project. Very nice bike...
  9. If this was true, why can't it be here in the PA. area? I really don't mind having a free lunch or dinner and some Yamaha test ride.
  10. I am 5'5" so I my stock windshield pretty much protect me from the elements. Just like yesterday afternoon after work headed home, I think there were at least 10 dead bugs on my windshield all at the same time...after thinking seriously about (whether to cut the windshield) it if my windshield is shortened, I can end up having all those bug splats on my helmet and jacket. Not a pretty sight for me. I may stay OEM size for now.
  11. Great to hear the happy ending. +1 on a well synched carbs. Ride Safe.
  12. I just use my Craftsman Rubber Strap wrench to remove the oil filter. Works every time.
  13. If that was me, I probably would have gone home and picked up the truck.
  14. It might be a good idea to retrofit the Venture with a rubber cap over the ignition switch.
  15. +1. Give your ride an oil transfusion.
  16. It could very well be the sidestand switch dilemma. My guess is it could be a fuel filter that needs to be replaced soon.
  17. Looks like a significant recall. I know my original rear tire is an Exedra / Bridgestones...not sure what model tire. Will check tomorrow morning.
  18. Very interesting.
  19. Not bad looking. Now it looks like a modified air box. But, I wouldn't put it on my bike. Ride Safe.
  20. We've had some cold mornings here lately. We sure need some of the heat in your area and I think it is coming our way today and all the way up to next week. Hopefully I do not have to turn on the heat in the morning.
  21. The adapter is really very useful and definitely stable when on legs. A lot of members had removed their rear tire only and did maintenance on their bike while on the adapter. As an added precaution, I leave the jack right under the adapter for my peace of mind.
  22. Wait for that Brown truck around the corner... and he'll make your day. Glad to hear that your wife is into adding accessories and hopefully more Bling for the bike.
  23. If there are high winds in our area, I keep extra focused with both hands on the bar and ready to squeeze the throttle. On the Interstates, I find to be more stable the faster I go. Ride Safe.
  24. Skydoc, Thanks for the report.
  25. Well after worrying so much yesterday, I found out that if the front wheel is turned all the way to the left (on the kick stand) the clutch reservoir will appear half full. If I stand the bike straight up or front wheel turned all the way to the right, the reservoir will appear full. I guess my mistake is not really filling the reservoir 'very close' to the top. The good news is that there are no leaks anywhere. Thanks for reading.
