  1. My apologies...I guess from the last time I checked the old bulb, it looked like an 1157 with no Offset on the side contacts. I was in a hurry to get to work. Last night, I just confirmed that it is an 1157 with an Offsetted side contact. I ordered the 1.80" LED clusters that should fit the housing. This afternoon, I may go ahead and install the Aux Light/Tag holder.
  2. Me too. Let me know, if there are good deals that may interest us especially for our bikes.
  3. Thanks KiteSquid. I will have to triple check the bulb that came with the assembly. The last time I looked, it is an 1157 bulb with contacts on the same plane at 180° of each other...Not Offset and the bottom of the bulb has 2 contacts. This tells me that it is a dual 1157. Most places say that an 1157 bulb will have an offset contact and has two point of contact on the bottom. I think it has an older type 1157 bulb.
  4. KAWoodworth, Glad to hear that you made it out ok. Ride buddies are the best...I also like that motto..."We Never Leave Anyone Behind." Hope you got that tire fixed by now. Regards.
  5. How about Loctite? Do you use any on the bolts?
  6. I've never had a pet cat, but I hope you get your daughter's cat back. It is amazing how that other cat just cut through the window screen...it must have some sharp claws.
  7. I think I hit a bump here.
  8. +1 on the RTV, if I was going to do it and RTV is readily available. I usually use it on my cars to seal the overhead valve cover and gasket. On the Venture, I think there is really no oil that pass through the mating surface (looking at the pic)...just the splines that spin within the assembly. On another note, I think he is also using a Carbon One jack adapter to hold the bike.
  9. Eddie, You must ride a lot of highways that is why your brakes last longer than others.
  10. :crackup:I rest my case.
  11. So sorry to hear about the accident. I pray for his full recovery.
  12. With this thread, it started to make me wonder how much more do I have left on the rear. Mileage on my bike is at 4K miles and I mostly ride highways, so I don't use a lot of brake most of the time. Perhaps at 10K miles, I should go ahead and pull out the pads.
  13. Most safety inspection places would write on the inspection sheet how much brake pad is left at the time. Visually looking at your rotor, did it look damaged?
  14. This is what I won on eBay...http://i22.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/7f/cb/2731_2.JPG This is what I plan to order from Custom Dynamics...http://www.customdynamics.com/Images/genesis_180_led_small.jpg Size: 1.25" or 1.80" Dynamic Replacement Cluster. I am leaning towards the 1.80" which may fit. Any recommendations?
  15. Thanks for the reminder. I needed that time to time. Always FF on my end Spring, Summer, Fall and definitely Winter. Even if it is a short ride to the grocery store, I still wear my FF.
  16. Welcome to this great forum, similost. Congrats on your new ride. Don't forget to take some for us to enjoy.
  17. I agree...those weird noises are the hardest to troubleshoot. Glad to hear that you were able to identify the source with no :mo money:spent.
  18. I hate suspense...thrillers. C'mon, say it!
  19. Not really sure for the 1st generation Ventures. But, 2 days ago as I was trying to beat the rain clouds:250: headed home from work...I managed to hit 110-115 mph on my Venture. It was smooth as silk travelling at that speed and I stayed at that pace for a good 3 to 4 minutes and then backed down to 95 mph on the speedo. I guess sometimes, it is ok to put the bike at WOT...just be very careful on the straightaway.
  20. Does anyone know what kind of LED lamp I should order to replace the bulbs on the Harley Aux Light part # 68230-97B? I think the assembly takes an 1157 type bulb...I've seen a few on the CustomDynamics website, but still unsure.
  21. Yes...and remember to wear eye protection.
  22. You should be fine. I like mine and will keep it forever. Just don't drop it:scared:.
  23. At this point, I am 55% convinced that the Rotella T Dyno 15W40 is an OK oil to use for the 2nd generation Ventures.
  24. Please count me out on this ride. I originally thought my schedule is wide opened for this Saturday, but my daughter reminded me about her Open House on Sat. AM as well. We are looking around for Colleges and Universities for her and I think this is an important event for her and I should be there. Have a great time this Saturday. Ride Safe Everyone.
  25. I can't wait to get this day over with. Rain all day, but it shall clear up tonight. I am doing a safety check on my bike tonight to ride to work for the next 3 days.
