  1. I had the same questions for my 2009. I looked at this thread for input: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29503&highlight=shocks I settled on 4 pounds in the front. In the rear, I run 25# if solo, 35# if riding double, and 45# if riding double and carrying full bags, trunk, and trunk bag. For me, these provide good handling in curves and a pleasant ride on the straights. Just got back from two weeks in Colorado with wife and everything we could stuff in/on the bike. The 45# worked great for us.
  2. Thanks for the info. Time to get an anti-sink device.
  3. This isn't particularly technical, but... I transitioned from Goldwings (1500 and 1800) to a 2009 RSV last fall and my wife and I are planning our first vacation on it. Both of my Goldwings' kickstands would sink into warmish asphalt like a hot knife going into butter. That resulted in a free show for bystanders who were treated to a vocabulary demonstration while I freed the 'wing. Eventually I opted for a plastic footprint looking thing which I left behind at a restaurant and then I used various pieces of metal designed to spread out the wing's weight. My question is: do I need one with the RSV? The RSV kickstand looks like it spreads out the weight nicely, but I don't want to take any unnecessary chances. Thanks in advance.
  4. Thanks again for the suggestions and comments. Makes buying one an educated choice rather than chance.
  5. Thanks again for the input on a trunk rack. I'm getting one. Now, what about bags for it. Had a trunk rack bag on my GW 1500 way back when but can't remember the brand. I'm looking at the Star model but wonder if anyone has something they like better. Any input appreciated.
  6. I'm thinking of putting a luggage rack on my '09 RSV. Had one on a Goldwing 1500 and got a lot of use out of it. Any excessive reports of trunk lid cracking? Anyone know the weight limit on them? Tricks or tips? Thanks in advance for any insights.
  7. Recently acquired a 2009 Venture I had to wait several weeks on. Looked everywhere for a manual to read while waiting for delivery. Found it here: http://labs.trunkful.com/LIT-11626-16-15_18.pdf Slow server takes four or five minutes to download. (Moderators: please delete this if it's common knowledge and already been posted.)
