  1. Those both sound like greeat ideas. Can we make something like this happen Freebird? Please, Please, Please! I love looking at what different people have done to their bikes.
  2. I was thinking of possibly paint and customizations to the body being a great thing to see all in one place. However i'm open to suggestions also! Any other ideas?! Thanks, Big Mike
  3. Hey Freebird I think it would be neat if we could have a section of the forum just for pictures of mods. Maybe divided for 1st gens, 2nd gens, and royalstars. What do you think? I hope this is not already set up since I couldn't find it! I think it would be awesome to get on and just look at the many different mods people have done to their bikes all in one convienient location. What do ya say?! Big Mike
  4. The 99's had tape decks......oh yea no change there sorry!!!:rotf: Big Mike
  5. FINALLY GOT RID OF THE TAPE DECK!!!!! I think that guy had a when he posted that one! Big Mike
  6. A complete system on a car is designed to work together. If you have a lean or rich condition your o2 sensors will read back to the computer and cause the fuel injection system to force more or less fuel to the intake. If you have a lean condition (more air than fuel) then your car will not fire properly causing the sensors to read back to the computer that you have faulty spark. If my calculations are correct I would say your fuel filter is plugged and causing the whole mess. When you have a fuel filter that is plugged it will allow a small ammount of fuel to go through, however as you apply pressure to the accelerator it forces more fuel through the filter pushing sedement in its path and choking off the line. As you release this pressure it will again settle and allow the fuel to pass. I would start by replacing the fuel filter. Then go from there. Hope it helps, Big Mike
  7. Add one to the list of cracking sidewalls. While checking brakes and tire wear tonight I found three cracks on my sidewall of the front tire. I have already ordered a Dunlop E3 for the rear, but the front has almost all the tread left. When I talked to the Avon rep, I was informed that new tread depth on the front is 4.7mm, mine is at 4.0mm checking with a depth guage. Any chances they'll replace it with a Dunlop E3?! I for one really like the handling of the Avon, and was a little worried to go to a Dunlop on the rear with my Avon on front. After doing some reserch on this site, I feel a little better about it. However for those of you that have had both Avon and E3, how is the E3's nimbleness at slow speed turns compared to the Avon? Thanks in advance, Big Mike
  8. Yes, brace them. If you don't, they will cause the pipes to flex at the y in the pipes, and they can crack and cause leaks. Just my , after all the clamps are much cheaper than head pipes. Big Mike
  9. Tried one on at the local parts shop and thought they were neet. I don't wear glasses so I can't be much help there. Big Mike
  10. I get no respect! because I don't ride a HD, anyone else get the sme feeling at times? The above reason is the first reason I swore I would never own a Harley! Now that I own my RSV it has become more than that. I ride with several friends that own Harleys, and while their bikes are very nice. They seem to spend a fortune on maintenance. They are fair weather riders only, any chance of a sprinkle and forget it. They would rather trailer their bikes than ride them, so they can keep the miles down and avoid costly repairs. My money is better spent on accessories WHEN AND IF I decide to do them. Plus all the guys I ride with are constantly eyeballing MY bike, and complementing me in how nice it is. YEA I'VE GOT ABOUT 1/3 THE COST OF THEIR BIKES INTO MY BIKE, INCLUDING THE COST OF MINE........... WITH HAVING PUT ALL THE ACCESSORIES AND NICE SPARKLY PAINT JOB. OH YEA DID I MENTION ITS FASTER!!!! THE ONLY THING I WOULD TRADE IS THE STEREO AND TAPE DECK. BUT THAT WAS FIXED WITH A HEADSET AND MP3 PLAYER. I do like all bikes, just not the attitude and maintenance that goes with some of them. Not all Harley riders are like that either, but i'd rather not be put in the category of the one's who are JUST because of the KIND of bike I CHOOSE to ride! Big Mike:Venture:
  11. I just have to say thank you for this post!!! This is exactly what I was looking for. I thought I had seen it on this site but I must have been looking at the other site when I saw it. I think I will be doing this mod soon, it's eye candy to me!!! Thanks Again for posting, Big Mike
  12. Nope, it's way easier than taking apart the fairing too! You have 3 allen bolts holding on each fin. The bolts go in a triangle shape directly through the fins. Take out the 3 bolts and your fin is off. Just remember not to run your bike with these off as they do hold in the rubber freeze plugs for the antifreeze. Probably the easiest of the disassembly on this bike, Good Luck!!!! Big Mike
  13. Here's what I was able to find! Goes along with all the other posts. http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vinDecoder/JYA47T008DA000175 Welcome and good luck. Big Mike
  14. http://wingstuff.com/pgroup_detail/244_Headset/26740_IMC_Gold_Wing_Helmetless_OR_Half_Helmet/?goto=%2Fpgroup_list%2Felectronics%2F244_goldwing_Headset%2Fdes%2F I use this one from www.wingstuff.com It's called the IMC GoldWing Helmetless. It works awesome in the garage, but since I just bought it and live in Michigan, I haven't road tested it yet. However the reviews are good and the quality is good, so I expect the road test to be good as well. Very good sound, and inexpensive. Also very good turn around time, ordered on a Friday and recieved on a Thursday the following week. I think I spent about 82.00 for 1 set with shipping. Big Mike
  15. Great, but where you gonna find time to ride now!!! This sucks! Honestly though hope the best for you, and congratulations on the new way to pay bills! Big Mike
