    I was dignosed with that once. Inhalers in the tune of four different types helped me out tremendasly. Prayers are sent up for you along with the many others for everyone else. Its getting to where I seem to pray myself to sleep. Just hope it all helps. Godspeed and his healing hands. David

    now mine is a 1st gen (91 Vr) but ny wifes loves it back there. She said if your girlfrien likes to be a shutter bug then by her a nice camera and forget about her being back there shell figure it out.. ANd she has also rode on a 2nd gen and said the only thing she didnt like was that the seat seemed to move her rear end forward. I cant speak for the newer ones as Im kinda scared to try them. I sat on one at the last M&e we were at and fell in love . Speaking of he is trying to sell that bike. You might be able to get a good deal on it. Ill look up his user id and insert it into this post. I cant find his user id but nbkjones sounds wright. or inhaler cant remember if he changed it. Mini muffin might know. David

    well since theres not a lot of open prarie roads where i live and Hilss within a days ride round trip my decision is easy. But I do understand what you mean, when Im in the hgilss so to speak I tend to watch the road more and pull over less. Now my wifes head looks like its on a swivel. Sometimes thats scare me as she riding her own bike in front of me. David

    ok I got one. If evrybody agrees then I say the new target should be you your bike and field with horses and or cows etc. My beautiful wife wanted to ride today inspite of the pending rain and to top it off she wanted to ride double on mine so she could take pics. Just so I didint fill like I was cheating we took a 100 mile round trip with the pics of the church at the end of the ride. Being that this church is one block from me. David

    If oyu want it in your signature at the bottom of your post go to usercp then click on edit signature then scroll to the bottom and click on signature pic and browse to where you saved the pic . Double click the pic and then apply. hope this helps it how I did mine. David

    that should happen in a few cities in the states. Isnt lthere a few towns that more or less out law motorcycles in their towns. Cant remember the town but another gruop I belong to locally had planned a ride in Souoth Carolina and had to change the destination because the town wna t even let a motorcycle park in the parking lots over night. And no Im not talking about Myrtle beach just cant remeber the name of the town. just an idea, but if enough peaple came through at the same time and let the news station know about it who knows.     Man I went for a ride yesterday and seen the perfect little country church but couldnt get the wife to slow her bike down long enough to let me get a pichers another just one block from my house so maybey today after the church lets out Ill head over. David

    dont worry about the front tire coming of the ground. I can pull the front end up and put the rear end on the trailer hitch any time I fill like it. As far as the valve adjustment Im not sure, but I did hear something about freebird possibly doing a clinic on how to do this job at maintenece day. David

    guess Im the od ball here. I ride with heavy leathers in the winter. Sring and fall I use lined denim. ANd in the summer I wear mesh gear. Kinda think its all in what you fill comfortable with. Each set of gear has its on pluses and minuses. For me its what I am mentally prepared to set myself up for. In my opinion you cant beat good leather for protection from road rash, but textile also offers armer. Guess my thoughts on leather are a litle bias though . After a wreck at 65 mph when a lady pulled out in front of me and I laid the bike down. Walked away without a scratch. Bruised up a bit but no road rash. I was weraing full leather racing suit with armor. (YOunger and riding a crotch rocket back then.) I ruined the suit but it did what it was supposed to do. david

    first off, nice bike. And for what its worth if you end up with a bike that suits you and you can still keep your bills up and eat and so forth, then who has the wright to say its not worth it. As for me I'm in the mmiddle of redoing a little at a time my 91 vr. I love this bike but sat on a 2nd gen last weekend that I flat out fell in love with. Could have made a great deal on this bike, and it fit me like a well worn pair of gloves. Now that bike would ahve been worth it too but I couldnt afford to get it and pay the bills. Who knows in a year or so I mught find another that fits me that well. Now dont get what Im saying wrong I do love Brandy( my 91). She fits well too. David

    96 aint a 1st gen. And you can put a set on a 1st gen. Im picking up a set tommorow and with a muffler pipe extention with a 15 degree bend on each side you can make it work. This thread from the tech section might help you out. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=507 David

    ok Just an idea. I called a fellow that has a classified add in the first gen parts and accesories. He is the one with the add that he is parting out a 90 and 91. His nuber is at the bottom of the add. turns out he rebuilds the cdi boxes to like or new condition for 150 bucks.     Im presently running a set of 230 tourmaster shinkos on my first gen. Cant speak of mileage as I just had tham installed. Only got 100 miles on them so far, but expierience as of now is that they handle well. Better than the previous metzlers in fact in my opinion. Now you could probably get up with squidley as he has a set on his first gen with quite a bit more miles on his. Hope this helps as I am happy with mine for now. David

    Hey Don, welcome to the site. Nice ride. I cant add anymore to the winshield install as it seems all has been stated. And as for the ? of members in the carolinas there are a bunch of us. Just look us up under community,go to the members list and you can select all memebers or by the states individually. DAvid
