  1. Hi ya'll... I'm not a terribly active member here on this site, but I thought I'd share this with you all to see if you'd be interested in giving it a go. I can't claim this as an original idea, as someone on another motorcycle board I frequent came up with it... We're having so much fun (that thread is 115 pages now), I thought I'd pass it on here. Since we are heading into some beautiful weather, and we're all looking for any excuse to ride, lets see if we can have fun while we're at it!! Here are the simple and basic rules... Don't forget.. this is for fun and entertainment!! The person who scores first on the target gets to set the next target. Targets must be fairly generic so that anyone can hit them with a little effort. No targets like, you, your bike, and the Golden Gate bridge for instance.. A more suitable target would be - you, your bike, and a truss style bridge. Nothing dangerous or illegal. No old pictures. You must seek out the target after it's announced, not use a picture you already have. No Photoshopping. Targets must involve you and your bike in some way. Anyone may announce a prize for hitting the next target (prizes should be of minimal value or for the purpose of fund raisers on this site). A suitable prize would be a ride bell for instance. Post your picture (or a link to your picture) in this thread.some of the funnier targets from the other site were things like "you, your bike, and a drag queen", or "you, your bike in front of an employement agency, and you holding a sign that says 'will work for chrome'", and a favorite of mine "You, your bike, and at least two Hooters girls (dressed in Hooters attire)". So let me kick this off by setting the first target! You, your bike, and a covered bridge. Good Luck, have fun, and be creative! PS: Mods and Admins - Please modify rules here as necessary to be within site policy. I don't want to step on any toes with regards to "prizes" or "fundraisers".
  2. The Great VR Scavenger Hunt!!! Find the link "Stickied" to the top of the "Fun and Frivioulous" topic. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20503&page=80 Several new players, and a lot of activity in the last 8 days. Here's what's transpired in the last few days. A pic of you and your bike and/at... Sign with a "Q" in it, hit on Feb 13 by DanOh a drive thru, hit on Feb 16 by DynoDon some flowers, hit on Feb 16 by SMSgt railroad crossbuck sign, hit on Feb 17 by EtcswJoe Military Memorial, hit on Feb 19 by Scooter Bob a watertower, hit on Feb 20 by DanOh old fashioned barber shop, hit on Feb 21 by EtcswJoe Come on everybody else, join in the fun! Here's a brief explanation of the few rules that DynoDon put together a couple weeks ago. The game is a scavenger hunt. You look for the current "target" get a picture of you and your bike and the target. IT is OK to have you in a reflection in the chrome or mirror since it may be hard if you are alone to get a picture of you and the bike and the target. most people take a second picture of the target and their bike just so people can see it better. the person that gets the current target then sets a new target. Past targets have been things like, (all of them start:)You and your bike and:__________ A police car at a donut shop, a tractor, pumpkin patch, scarecrow, bridge, lake etc etc. Anyone can play, and you only have to look back to the last target (usually just a few messages) to see what it is. Sometimes the "group" will vote on a target if it is kind of on the edge, but usually, you get the picture, post it and set a new target. For newbies, you will have fun going through the previous targets if you want. The more that play, the more fun. Be inventive with targets, but don't make them so hard or obscure that most people can't play. Try to stay away from targets that are only in one area (Pacific ocean, etc). A topical or seasonal target can be fun. One I got was a yard display of blow up Christmas decorations! Play and have fun! Later, Scooter Bob
  3. Contestants wanted. Anyone can play. The thread can be found "stickied" to the top of the "Fun and Frivolous" forum topic. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20503 Jump to the last page to find the current target, grab the camera, jump on the bike and go for a ride with eyes peeled for that perfect camera shot. (hint.if you're riding alone, get the mirror in the shot pointed back at you. You get the bike mirror, your face in it, and the target.) If you're the first one to post the picture back on here, you get to set the next target. (something kinda generic that anyone in the world might be able to find). Riding season is upon most all of us now. Hop on board with us and enjoy the ride. Later, Scooter Bob P.S. The current target is..... A picture of you and your bike and a bulldozer. Should be easy now that construction season has started heh? by Scooter Bob Sorry Don, for another watering hole thread about this, but we want to make sure the new people that haven't explored the whole site can find it and can play along.
  4. If anyone is interested there is over 400 retailers to shop at like Bike Bandit, Bass pro,Tractor Supply ,Target, Sears and you get paid back. http://ppl.blastoffnetwork.com/webshop ,
  5. I don't leave my driveway without a helmet on my head. This evening I needed to make a quick run to Target so I got on the bike as usual, put the helmet on, started the engine and began to back out of the garage when something started banging on my head. I stopped immediately and thougth "what the He**". Apparently when I moved the bars I accidently hit the garage door opener on my key ring and the door came down on top of my head. It quickly reversed and no harm done. I started laughing so hard I could hardly ride thinking of what this must have looked like to the neighbors. I phoned my wife while on the way to Target and she got a good laugh from it as well. Always wear you helmet. You never know what perils lie ahead. DT

    How big is wal-mart?

I don't know that this data is (or isn't) correct, but it wouldn't surprise me. I know for a fact that the HEB grocery chain in Texas went bankrupt in large part due to the proliferation of WalMart SuperCentres. 1. At Wal-Mart, Americans spend $36,000,000 every hour of every day. 2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute! 3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year. 4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined. 5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private employer. And most can't speak English 6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the World. 7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only 15 years. 8. During this same period, 31 Supermarket chains sought bankruptcy (including Winn-Dixie). 9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world. 10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centres; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 years ago. 11. This year, 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at a Wal-Mart store. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 billion.) 12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart 13. Let Wal-Mart bail out Wall Street Cheers,
  7. This is absolutely incredible to watch this guy shoot - no camera tricks, the real thing! I think I need to go and target practice! Enjoy, Bobbie [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woILVt30QV8[/ame]
