  1. Tell her it's much more comfortable if she stays away from the drip.
  2. You are now in the clutch area. The shaft I was refering to is on the other side, out in the open, it goes from the heel and toe shifter to the middle gear cover. It's knurled at each end and you might have some slippage there. This doesn't sound like an internal issue to me,,,, just doesn't seem to make any sense to be internal.
  3. Pressure sounds like it's within tolerances. wonder what kind of tire you put on, and did you go with the smaller front tire? The first plce I would look would be the mounting of the rear tire. make sure it's tight and true. When you go to install there is a procedure to follow. Loosen off the swing arm from the pumpkin, then install tire and axle, and rotate the and then rotate the axle so that it feels an at 'home place'. It may feell a little tighter in some places during the rotation than at others, so you need to feel for the best place to have it. Now tighten the axle and then tighten the swing arm back on the pumkin. Maybe this will help. Carl
  4. Check the ends of the shift shaft to make sure they are no slipping on the shafts that they are tightened on to. There is one at the front of the shaft and one at the back, just under the cover you removed.
  5. Good news Dan,,,,Say Hi to the missus,,,,,aka Warden,,,, and keep posting every hour on the hour, that way we'll know if you are suviving or not.
  6. So what does a strock stator do?
  7. I've heard that there is no such thing as 'bad publicity' and I think that statement is absolutly correct. HD has got to love threads and discussion such as this one,,, but then so do I, lots of interesting info here,,,, keep it up guys, I need to get smarter,,, and that's not easy at my age.
  8. If it gets too bad just park it until you get older,,, then it'll sound just fine.
  9. Nope they don't,, it looks more like a Harley that way.
  10. Now to hear Stompin Tom sing that,,, that would be a treat. Good verson though I liked it
  11. Awesome news for you two,,,,, I was worried there'd be no more cheese cake in our future,,,, now I can start hoping again. As Job once said, about 3000 years ago: The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh, but blessed be the Name of the Lord for he giveth again. Hope we don't need Swifty to translate that. Carl
  12. In answer to being open on Sundays?????? maybe it's that the metric dealers don't need to be open because everybody's out riding and wouldn't come in anyways, I mean if you enjoy the riding, why stop???
  13. Says so much about life and realtionships,,,, awesome.
  14. Got mine last week,,, it made good time. What I have figured out is this: if you ship from the States to Canada, ship the first of the week, that way the package moves right through customs. If you ship the end of the week, it gets buried over the weekend and then it takes time to uncover it, so it's Wednesday before it moves on again. Just my experience. Carl
  15. Don't want to steal this thread, but that is the main reason I don't bother with NHL. What we seen at the Olimpics was hockey, and that I enjoy, those boys, and girls, were out to win a game or two, they played their hearts out, played together, made a team, fell apart and regrouped, tried, tried and tried again but didn't give up. Got hot and sweaty, tired and sore, but didn't go blaming it on some else, just took it in stride and headed for METAL. Thanks all you players for a great nail-biter.
  16. A lot of side wind perhaps? Check your rear wheel bearings to make sure they are tight, and your swing arm bearing points. You may have it right with it being a cheap tire, but I would would look elsewhere first and as last resort blame the tire. Note: Being cheap on tires sometimes would dictate that you spend the most amount of money on one. Not neccessarily though, sometimes cheap does well and lasts a long time, but generally speaking, there is a reason for 'cheap', such as: short tread life, unexpected early failure, poor grip, bad balance,,,,,, Some of these could become expensive when it comes to scoot repairs, or maybe even body repairs to the human rider. just my thoughts.
  17. See,,,,,,,told you so,,,,,,,,,thanks you Yanks, it was a pleasure,,,, glad we're so close,,, in more ways than one.
  18. Canada has already won,,, we just have to show how we did it,,,,, so let's all watch this afternoon.lol
  19. Some people get their senses when they're born, some others get it a bit later, for some it takes a lifetime, others get it then loose it. Let's see which you have gone through. First a 1st gen,,, yep I really thought you were in the right court, then you dared riding a 2nd gen and found out that things aren't as smooth some days as some others, then you got this trail thing and now you GOT A WHAT????????????????? . . . . . . . . . . . Congrats, it looks real good,,,, and we do go to Ottawa on occasion. What are you thinking?
  20. Just don't go kickin around afterwards, could be a little more painful,,,, I'd say the bike is probably the safest thing to do, but then I'm no doctor, and I'm guessing your doctor is not a rider.
  21. Take it from the experienced. just leave that stuff there and by June it'll all be gone by it's own self.
  22. Nope,, not mine.
  23. Be sure to mount your lights at least 16" above the ground, otherwise they WILL shine in the oncoming drivers eyes. I also crisscross mine to give a better light pattern, and then I do the night time trick.
  24. I'm not from your area, or even your country, but knowing what I know from Canada, hire someone who is a good book-keeper, maybe even aa accountant. Do this right away so that they can advise you in how to properly set up your books, what to buy and when to buy, what you can claim and what you can't, and where and how to allocate in the books. It can make a significant tax issue if it's not doen right, and can save on taxes if executed properly. JMT Carl
  25. It has a lot to do with what you want out of a scoot, once you get used to one and adapt to it, how the two units marry together (you and the scoot), condition of the suspension, steering, engine tuning, tires and pressures, weight distribution and of course the most important part,,,,,,, the color. If it ain't brown, it's not fast,,,enough.
