  1. It was a beautiful day here in Canada's southland today so I got out for a nice two hour ride. Mid 40s and sunny with no wind. Probably the last ride for a while.
  2. This time of year I watch the weather looking for a nice day to plan a trip on the 1st Gen. And week after week I am consistently disappointed with the weather but more importantly, the timing of the weather. I am noticing (and I'm sure many of you have as well) that the weather during the week will have one or two days of sunshine while the weekend is always wet and miserable. I propose we reset the week. We need to pause the week so that the weather comes into alignment with the days of the week and that will give us sunny weekends. So here's what we do. Wednesday October 31 will be the start of the reset. The next day will be Wednesday November 01, and the third day will be Wednesday November 02. Then we carry on as usual. We have now reset the week. Now the days that used to be sunny in the middle of the week are now the weekend and we can ALL appreciate more sunny days on the weekends. If this doesn't work, I'm moving to Texas. They always seem to have sunny weekends. Thomas

  4. This winter has been one of extremes and I am starting to feel like a yo-yo. Last weekend we were well above freezing with some areas close to here hitting 40f with sun and lots of melting. Monday we started to drop and when i got up this morning the temp was -32f and sunny, ooo cold! Now, coming on Thurs we are sposed to be over 32f again and sunny, I appreciate that we arent getting the storms some of you are, but the temperature swings are wild! Add the fact i just got back from the Southern Caribbean and Florida its getting a bit hard to know what coat to wear in the mornings!!! I feel confused!!! Brian:confused24:
  5. Low was 9 celcius last night (48 f). Currently 14. Cloudy, a bit of rain, some sunny breaks. Is this February? ... can't really be mid-June! I'll trade you yer Texas heat any day (but not every day )
  6. My seals are leaking now and I'm bottoming out easily. I don't have any new springs or seals to put in and I'm just not wanting to miss a sunny day My seals are leaking now and I'm bottoming out easily. I don't have any new springs or seals to put in and I'm just not wanting to miss a sunny day on the road. Today I will add oil to the front tubes but I was wondering....can a person put some Power Steering Stop Leak in the tubes to help the seals? (I did try the trick of lifting the dust cover and running a bead on top of the seal. This helped a little. Did not last long though.) What if any effect would this thickener/stop leak have on the performance/operation of the tubes?
  7. I just bought a TOM TOM RIDER 2nd EDITION. I bought the TOM TOM because I have one in my car and love it compared to my buddys GARMIN I found it more accurate, easier to use and easier to update. As well their tech support has been great. Everything works great on it except on a SUNNY DAY I cannot see the screen. Is this common for all Motorcycle GPS's ??? or is it just a TOM TOM Issue.
  8. I know we do alot of bragging down here in the sunny south about our twelve month riding season. But, the truth of the matter is that since November our weather in Atlanta has pretty much sucked, at least for riding. If it wasn't raining (which we despertly needed) it's been pretty cold. Not as cold as some of you but cold enough to keep the bike parked. I'm at a loss to understand how some you in the colder climates tolerate the winters but down here, we don't do well with the cold and Cabin Fever can be a real concern. Expressing my concerns about my mental health due to cabin fever to Blackjack, he suggested a ride on Friday which was projected as a decent riding day. Mostly sunny with a high temp of 65. Friday also happened to be the opening day of the Great American Motorcycle Show being held here in Atlanta, this weekend. So we agreed on a time and place to meet and took a short but pleasant ride to attend the opening of the show. One of his neighbors/Goldwing buddies, Ken, who has also attended several N. Ga. M&E's, also made it in time to be there with us when the doors opened. We spent the afternoon walking the show which overall was the same as last year's and all the years before. But, we still had a good time and I took a few pictures to share.
  9. For those who have difficulty seeing your GPS screen on bright sunny days this may help...........My ....... http://www.glarestomper.com/
  10. For the last several weeks, we have had beautiful springtime weather, sunny with highs in the mid 70's, until the weekends comes around. We have another wet cool weekend with rain and guess what, next Monday thru Friday is expected to be sunny with temps back to the mid to upper 70's. This seems to be the third weekend in a row with rain. Ok, I am done whining about the weather, for now. RandyA
  11. I have been looking at the new members list for about a year now and have not seen anyone listed in the Marietta, Ohio or the Parkersburg, WV area, as a matter of fact I don't see many of the of the big Yamaha's around here. If there is a member out there that rides this area send me an e mail, sgroves1@roadrunner.com .............. Keep the Sunny Side up and the Rubber Side Down............
  12. So far this new year is not starting out to well, so hope it gets better soon. Two days ago went to a HalRSV99 for a bon fire and and ended up burning my fingers on my boot. Melted the bottoms a little and the rest was a dumb move. Yesterday we had to put Sunny our Cat down as he had gotten real sick and the medication was not working. This was very upseting for the family. Been Snowing since late last night a there is 4" of snow on the ground, so far. last year Naugh-T and I went for a ride on new years day. Pic #1 Naugh-T, Bricks wife Rhonda, and a SCRC's Member Char. Pic #2 HalRSV99, his wife Gayle, Fearful 1st. officer SCRC270 (2 Looney) Pic #3 Brick and Hal the cook (making Hot dogs ona bun in pie irons, this time he did not forget the bread). Last two pis of Sunny (the boss) over Christmas. One with Naugh-T's mother and the other with Ben. So here's hoping it gets better and of course all the best in 08 to you all. PS. Went to see GaryN on the 30th and he is doing great. Hopes to be home in a few weeks. Brad, Naugh-T and Family.
