  1. Somebody posted a pic here a while back of an inverted copter drawn on a ceiling around a ceiling fan. Had to admit.... kinda cool looking. Pic #1 Now, it seems that dream is a reality. I ran across this the other day. An actual ceiling fan copter with a 3 speed motor, a remote control and it's own heli-pad. Pic #2 It might not actualy be all the great for cooling but you got to admit.....it's got a certain cool factor. Flyinfool? You been busy? Mike
  2. time for a new headset. been using J & M for years, works good for cb and intercomb but my $10.00 pair i wear when walking sounds better for music. anything out there that has quality sound for music. I will admit my J M are about 15 years old. they may have improved much since then. thanks in advanced.
  3. Just curious...... I've dropped mine 4 times...... 3 times sitting completely still and once when it stalled while pulling out. Luckily it didnt get one scratch..... but I have admit even though I'm a big guy the RSTD is pretty heavy when you pick it up yourself.
  4. Granddaughter #2 was born yesterday at 3:53pm - - Teagan Ryleigh. 7lbs 13oz and a very lanky 22" long. Mom and baby are great, and me and Grandma are on top of the world! Can't wait to get Teagan and her big sister Paisley out for a ride in a few years (well, maybe more than a few!). I must admit that I loved raising my kids, but this grandpa thing is really a blast!!!
  5. Help! I want to know how to insert an image using the yellow letter icon above where we type our message. It asks for my URL, and has http:// and then what? I have tried to figure this out, but obviously I have had to admit, I do not know. I would appreciate your help. I guess I am a better person for it. Yama Mama
  6. I have never worked on 2ed gen ventures so I need a little help. Some one has pulled the brass plugs on the Carburetor and adjusted the mixture and the owner wants me to help him make an adjustment. I have to admit that I have no Idea where the mixture screws are on the Carburetor. Can some one tell me where to look? Fred
  7. All the tests are done results are back and they don't have a clue! Good news is pains that started all this seem to be gone. Don't know why she had them but they said they straightened tube with probe. Not what they told us at first. Told us it would take surgery to do it. Thats good news ?? All done they don't have a clue but don't want to admit it. They say there is nothing bad in there but want to check again in May??? Good news is she is doing good. Has a little tenderness in kidney area but mouth is working fine!!! I'm in for it if she reads that one!!! :whistling:I'll let you know if I NEED HELP!!!
  8. I have filled out census forms for five decades and this one is unbelievable. They question you about everything. It is like a diary of your living. I don't feel comfortable in the "confidetiallity" of it. Why does it matter how many rooms, how far to work, how many people ride with me, how much I earned last year (to the dollar), etc? They want to know everything about all occupants of the household and your house payment. They even admit it takes thirty-eight minutes to fill it out! I feel like I am being set up as a "stimulus" to pay back the trillions that our government gave away to others. I'm mad
  9. Alright I'll admit it, I have been one of the members "lurking" and have not posted yet. I seem to visit the site several times a day, especially this time of year (Minnesota). I have owned my Venture for about a year and a half and will admit I am somewhat "on the fence" about it. The weight does not bother me, after the I-basket the whine is much much better, the ride is smooth and it handles OK for what it is. Maybe its just me (or what I'm comparing it to - previous bike GL1800) but to me it needs more power. I know about using the RPM of the V-4 and keeping it in that range. but I'd rather not have to be in 4th gear, 2 up on the highway to maintain 75 mph with a headwind of 15 to 20 mph. 5th gear would loose speed or be wide open to maintain speed. (2 up our combined weight 320 lbs). I have read about the rear gear swap and was hoping to hear from some of you that have done it, what your opinions are after having it for awhile. (performance, fuel economy, e.t.c) I think I read that its a 10% (roughly) difference in gearing... does that mean 17% speedo error? On a related note, could a resistor be used instead of a speedo-healed to correct the difference? Just Curious...? Sorry to make up for all this time lurking in one post!
  10. Saw a red RSV being towed on a trailer (gasp!) behind a Chevy Tahoe or Surburban about 1030 AM yesterday heading south on I-95 in Jacksonville. Anyone from here and will he have the chutzpa to admit it???
  11. From one of AMA publications. If you think distracted drivers are potentially dangerous, you're right. What's really scary is how many drivers are multi-tasking out there on the road. According to a recent survey from the industry group Network of Employers for Traffic Safety: 10% of drivers have done work-related tasks while driving, either by reviewing notes, talking on the phone or using a computer. 18% have applied makeup while driving. 32% of drivers admit to having read while driving. 39% have tended to children while driving. 51% say they use a cellphone while driving. 70% admit to eating while driving.Once they crash how difficult is it to throw everything on the floor and tell the officer "It was an accident" Be careful out there!
  12. I may joke about Harleys .....But........ they sure look good customized
