  1. That would be worth a try. I have had good luck recovering things off hard drives with that method.
  2. The d404s want to follow grooves on the highway. The E3s and the Avons are the best.
  3. I have used the boats .net and have been happy with them. They don't stock everything so if they have to order something it might take a while but they have very good prices. When I had a hole knocked in my radiator I patched it and boats .net was the cheapest place I found to buy a new one.
  4. I was looking for a KLR when I found my DR. I have never regretted buying the DR. It has amazed me how capable it is. I did have to buy a aftermarket seat for it.
  5. The Ulysses was on my list of bikes that I would like to have if I ever won the lottery.
  6. Here is a link to something that happened at about the same time as the Matthew Shepard murder but the media never covered this. http://www.covenantnews.com/dirkhising.htm
  7. If you go all the way up on 35 you have to stop at Tobies for cinnamon rolls. I can't remember the name of the town but they have billboards on the highway.
  8. I hesitate to post this because it could lead to a gambling problem for some people but I like Harrahs. I personally don't gamble there but my wife does and gets free rooms. I am sitting in one in Metropolis Il right now.
  9. If you drill to the point the tank will lift up there wont be any stress left on the threads. At that point you should be able to take a sharp center punch and strike it lightly on the edge of the screw to get it to turn. With the head gone they usually turn pretty easy. I run a machine that pounds all day long. The clamps that hold the steel have 4 little machine screws that hold the bottom plate on. They break all the time and ( usually 2 or 3 are broken before the steel starts slipping) and I usually have good luck with this method. If that doesn't work try a reverse drill bit a little smaller. A lot of times it will bite in and remove the screw.
  10. I wouldn't go through a popup to do it. Go to Microsofts official website and look for down loads.
  11. Only time I ever had Demerol. That is great stuff. I feel for you.
  12. Bill I haven't seen you post for a while. Is everything OK?
  13. A lot of times its something as simple as the gas cap loose, but on a GM if the light starts flashing instead of just being solid on that means that something is going on that could damage the catalytic converter. Other auto parts stores also will check or loan the tool. Once you have the code it simplifies finding what is wrong.
  14. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Edsets yet. I don't have their complete set but I have replaced my J & M speakers with Edsets and the sound is a lot better.
  15. I had a 81 650 Maxim when I got the Venture. Thats old enough the speedometer will still be accurate ( before the Japanese started cheating on the speed). I bought it with 6000 miles on it for $600 and sold it for $750 with 40000 miles on it. Very light and nimble compared to the Venture.
  16. In the mountains its just naturally not going to have as much power. At 125,00 miles it probably wouldn't hurt to have the valves checked and then recheck the carb synch.
  17. I think Yamaha has all the service requirements except the rear end service set way to often. The carbs need synched right away because the dealers can't seem to do it right but then they don't change much. The plugs look new with 20000 miles on them. My air filters are never dirty. Every time I service it I decide to let some of that stuff go longer the next time.
  18. [ame=http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=503019]FS: Widder sz 46 vest, arm chaps, gloves, controller - ADVrider[/ame] Check this out. Its the same brand as mine which I like real well. They are out of business now.
  19. When and if I wear mine out I will buy a used one just like I have already.
  20. Because you cant get to places like this on a Venture.
  21. I used to have a lot of lower back pain and pain in my elbows and shoulders. About 5 years ago I started going to a gym. Best decision I ever made. As long as I don't let the owner of the gym talk me into trying to much weight I feel better than I did when I was in my 30s.
  22. How much does that weigh? It looks pretty light.
  23. When I was talking to the Dunlop Tech I said I was surprised that they weren't using computer balance. He said the static balance was better than computer for the racing bikes.
  24. I used to really want to visit Canada. It looks like a truly beautiful country. Then when they passed the restrictive gun laws I started losing that desire but this really does it.
  25. I think Lowell would win hands down.
