There seems to be some confusion about what a sport tourer is here.

Even the biggest of them doesn't compare to the size of a RSV or RSTD. They feel like a toy to me after riding the RSV. That isn't a bad thing. I like smaller motorcycles except for touring.

I was in Eau Claire,WI over New Years weekend. 9:00 in the morning, sun shining bright and -18 F. It was like that all weekend. This has been one of the coldest winters we have had here in MO for quite a while.

The picture is a Royal Star but the header says V star. Somebody doesn't even know what they have. A V star is a much smaller Vtwin.

After I disconnected my carb heaters I had plenty of juice for the electric gear.

When somebody calls a group of people neanderthals the post should be deleted and a warning should be issued.

I posted about a video and went to play basketball. When I got back the thread was gone. I assume that if I had done something wrong I would have gotten a notification?

There was a time when Best Western was considered a top of the line hotel but their quality seems to have slipped in the last few years. They are independently owned so there can be a lot of variation. I try to avoid them now days.

I sure believe that being a rider makes a better driver. Learning to watch all the traffic keeps you prepared driving or riding.

Who will / will not allow their kids to have a motorcycle?
midnightventure replied to Sunrayman's topic in Watering Hole
I bought mine a Yamaha Mini-Enduro when he was 7. He crashed and burned his leg and didn't ride it as much. We had a go cart to and when there were friends over he would get on it and ride around the yard while they rode the go cart. When he turned 16 I asked him if he wanted to get his motorcycle license. He said no. He has occasionally expressed a desire to get a sport bike but never has. He is married to a Chinese girl and has talked about moving to China and riding. He has been to China and talked about how crazy the traffic is there. I took him to a empty parking lot with the DR and let him refresh himself on riding but I also told him how dangerous it is even here in the states. I love riding and have taught a lot of people to ride including my sisters through the years but at this point I am kind of glad that he never got into it. I would enjoy going on rides with him if he got into it. -
They keep you from touching a hot fin when trying to remove those seat nuts. As somebody with fairly large hands and experience with touching hot fins I appreciate having them.

I bought a PCW spring and a whole set of Yamaha clutch disks. When I opened it up I realized the disks weren't wore at all so I just replaced the spring. Hasn't slipped a bit since then.

My wife drives Pontiac Sunfire while I drive a GMC Sonoma when not riding. I also have a 1995 Pontiac Trans Am with just 33,000 miles that gets driven on date nights and occasional vacations.

I don't know if he still has it but here is a link to a tan Corbin for a very good price. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2487/cat/7

I have always been against illegal drug use but the older I get the more I think we should legalize all of it and tax it. The money that is flowing into countries like Mexico is causing a lot of trouble when it could be doing a lot of good here. Let the idiots fry their brains. A while back the Mexicans raided a high up cartel member and he got killed. One of the soldiers was also killed. Usually the soldiers aren't identified because of fear of retribution. The dead soldier was identified. The drug cartel went in and killed his whole family.

I have been wearing a mesh jacket and pants over shorts and a tee shirt for the last five years. I feel cooler than back when I road in jeans and a tee shirt.

Whats amazing is how your attitude about ATGATT can change after you have been in a bad accident.

I ride across a lot of these riding my dual sport and that moss is definitely slick. If you can tell there has been any other traffic through and ride in the track that they left it helps but nothing is for sure. I read a lot of ride reports fro Advrider and going down on these here in Missouri is a common occurrence.

Yes it helps. I wish I had a big beater to practice on until I dropped it. At the end they show them riding other bikes than Harley including a Venture but they don't look as comfortable as when they are on the Harleys.

I'll keep my Venture another 75000 miles.

My DR doesn't have self canceling signals and now I catch myself canceling on the Venture.

Nice looking bike. I don't understand Ebays rating system. The guy has over 200 feedbacks with only 1 unfavorable and yet he is rated at 97%. Seems like that should be 99.7%.

I have the Star cover made for the Venture and it is well made but a lot bulkier than the nylon ones. You can see through it from the inside but it is waterproof. That means it will breath better than the nylon ones IMO.
