Bump.... I know the time is fast approaching so some decisions will have to be made: 1. best time for all in March 2. Would like to get some feed back from people that have worked "their way to Key West" staying in various towns along that chain of islands... that way we could possibly explore a broader area. its about a 100 miles from the mainland to key west... Key Largo looked like an excellent place to stay a day or so. Hey, well maybe I'm just huge Beach boys fan (by the way I've heard they are having a 50th year reunion?) how could that be? Do Any others areas come to mind? Islamorada and Big Pine Key look good also as previously mentioned?

A C-130 was lumbering along when a cocky F-16 flashed by. The jet jockey decided to show off. The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, "Watch this!", and promptly went into a barrel-roll followed by a steep climb. He then finished with a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier. The F-16 pilot asked the C-130 pilot what he thought of that? The C-130 pilot said, "That was impressive, but watch this!" The C-130 droned along for about five minutes, and then the C-130 pilot came back on and said, "What did you think of that?" Puzzled, the F-16 pilot asked, "What the heck did you do?" The C-130 pilot chuckled. "I stood up, stretched my legs, walked to the back, visited the restroom, then got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll." When you are young and foolish, speed and flash may seem a like good thing! When you get older and smarter, comfort is not such a bad thing ! Slower, Older andSmarter! Yup My dirt bike days are definately behind me!

Enough said!! Some like to impress others with amount spent and loudness. Others like to do a quiet 200,000 miles with little or no maintainence. It's like a race car, you can take two 4 cylinders joined together and produce over 600 Hp with a very "short" life expectancy, or, you can drive a 4 cylinder vehicle 200,000 miles... It's your choice... P.S. Regardless of what others have told you about Harleys ... they won't get you laid either... Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

Don, Don't know what size laptop you are using but I went from a 10 inch LCD ACER notebook a couple weeks ago to a H.P. 4 Gig Ram 500 Gig harddrive 17.something LCD laptop for $500, and the signal strength went from 2 bars poor, to 5 bars EXCELLENT! at home. It would seem Brand names and three years newer makes a huge difference...

Do we have any professionals in the Safe Business?
CaptainJoe replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Watering Hole
Small hole at bottom of safe just large enough to insert electric cord. Some safes come with a knockout so check. Then instal light at other end. I bought a gun safe a few years back and after a year,my guns started to rust. Solution is install a light! For the perfect welding rod storage take an old refrigerator, dissconnect compressor. Take door light switch off and wire together with wire nut and tape. That way the small applience light will stay on when door is closed. as it uses a 25W applience bulb, it won't cost you much for electricity.- 19 replies

To clean the inside of carbs and orifices use carb cleaner and pressurized air. To clean outside carb body and bowl you can go ultrasonic but in his case "smaller" is better. Remember, if you get something that will hold four carbs bolted together, that is deep enough to cover them all... IT'S GONNA TAKE A LOT OF CLEANER TO FILL... and that can get expensive if your using seafoam or other type of carb cleaner... Myself, the next time i tear my carbs off, I'm gonna try Pine-sol in a large ultrasonic HF pan. This was suggested by one of our members a while back who swore by it... I'll try it as it can't hurt an aluminum carb body... Or, will just spray outside with full strength Toranado which is made right here in good ole St Albans, WV. It sure is some powerful stuff. Anyone else have experience using household chemicals to clean aluminum? Dingy suggested Slime green...

Haven't tried plastic welding with an electric soldering pen. Yup... I bet that would definately stink as it's too hot. Bought a plastic welder from Harbor freight 3 years ago under $20???. It uses compressed air (3-5 psi), blown thru essentially a minature heat gun thats plugged in. It gets hot enough to melt ABS and a variety of plastics. With 3 psi. air, when you hold close to ABS you can watch it melt and start moving (blowing away from the tip of the gun). I use a painting spatula (very thin device used to mix paint on a pallet) to smoothe out the plastic by heating the spatula and the ABS. Works very well using the black zip ties for welding rods....

vertigo and dizziness ... Even a simple ear infection can cause vertigo and dizziness... Any other signs such as facial ticks or loss of hearing in one ear only? I had an accoustic neuroma back in May 2000. Had it removed in June 2000 at the House Ear institute in Los Angles California. It was a tumor in the channel between the ear drum and the brain stem. It grew and pressured the hearing/balance/facial nerves. ! 100% now. Hopefully, it's just an ear infection. Good luck!

so.... I would need a passport, pay a $25 decleration fee and I could bring a 5 shot 12 guage with double ot buck shot rounds, or my 5 shot 30-06 with 210 grain bullets across the border... Well ok ... If I were a crook or thief though, I'd rather get shot with a 38... A 30-06 or 12 guage is gonna be REALLY, REALLY messy

Animals are very strong... In fact a 200 lb buck all hyped up on adrenelin, will win hands down in a fight with a unarmed person... after all they have antlers and can and will gore you. They are lean, very fast with zero body fat... Ever try to wrestle a 80 lb. German shepard down? I have many times with Blackie the family pet... we were playing... now triple that and you will more than have your hands full. As FuzzyRSTD mentioned, I personally will take my rifle and touch the eye of an animal that is "not moving at all". If it is still alive, it will blink as it's a responce they cannot control. If it is alive and moving, I won't approach till I put it out of it's misery. A wounded animal is unpredictable.... stay away from them.

I've never had mine shake either... when I take both hands off and place on my knees with the cruise on it's rock solid and smoooooooth. Somethings not right on your bike. Getting back to your question though... If it happened to me, I'd either acclerate and take the weight, off of the front Or I'd use the rear brake ONLY! -
