  1. Sure do... The key is to use the end of the spatula like the end of that soldier gun in the video, if you push the molten plastic together or "Knit it together" you ensure a strong bond... It definately takes practice but I believe its worth it... doesn't stink either.LOL Don't get me wrong, you could use a soldering gun and a small fan in a well ventilated area...
  2. Must admit that was pretty good also...

TOM, I'll give you the same advice the waterboy got by Henry Winkler? Ya need to turn Ebenezer Scrooges Bah Humbug into "Tackleing FUEL" but in your case turn it into "Vacationing FUEL"... by the way, What are you doin in March?....
  4. Merry Christmas! Condor and family from the Hermsdorfer Family.

  6. A Lack of Common Sense is on the very same page as how to be Politically Correct. "You have to be told what your options are" everything else is "not to be tolerated!" Your not wanting the sauce was, viewed as being totally "unreasonable" in their eyes... Now do you Get it? Welcome to the new reality... LOL

"Some" of us are going to key West in March. Does that count? :parrots:Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!
  8. They have my vote for singing at the opening of the next Superbowl... Now that that's setteled, Wonder who has the best chance of taking on the Pittsburgh STEELERS in this superbowl? I'm hoping the Ravens, as everyone knows the third times the charm...
  9. "I'd be cautious about parking my motorcycle unattended anywhere near him for a while." Thats what I was thinking... Or anything else for that matter....
  10. Have a neighbor diagnosed with low T. Said the shots were $200 each but that his hair is thickening back up, he's got tons of enegry and he feels like a teenager again "if you know what I mean"...
  11. Ah HaH! Now I know, why some people in this group when we go on rides insist on bringing up the rear!
  12. "bet once he takes a few laps in that baby he will change his tune! " I'll bet he does to.... Specially if has a nice place to ride....
  13. Merry Christmas and Happy new Year!
  14. If I had a crystal ball.... Believe I'd be using it almost exclusively for near future lottery and stock market data. Waaaaaaaaaaaa Hooooo! I think we're gonna have a mild winter and an early spring.
  15. I'd have to say "listen to your Dr. and get all the vitamin D you can." Thinking the most natural way "thru the sun" is probably the best. Ever tried snorkeling? Charter boat fishing? or just lazily walking/laying on a beach:confused24: A group of us are heading down to the Keys in March and work our way down the chain eventually winding up in Key West, Fl. Bring your wife along, heck, by the time we get done with ya, you'll have forgotten all about the whole vitamin D thing.
  16. "and why not March 26-29? Afraid if we go too early I may have to bail out due to bad weather. " Threw this date out "can to kick around" as JSRAINs wife works for the school system and that's when she has a spring break. From the responces we've gotten thus far: March: 1 - 2 To Cold 5 - 9 To Cold 12 - 16 Highly Possible l9 - 23 Possible 26 - 30 (last week in March is Kregerdoodles MD) April is Easter and "showers month" Lets wait and see how many others are going to commit to dates. I'm flexable, in fact, most trips I take are at a moments notice "decided on the weather." In this case though, we need to set a date certain, as people will be scheduling their vacation and most places want a months notice.
  17. Florida Keys times to avoid: Especially packed days, weeks and weekends: Presidents' Day weekend (February), Easter week, Memorial Day weekend (end of May), the Fourth of July, Labour Day weekend (September), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's. Easter week, I'm thinking would be 4/1 thru 4/8? Which kinda kills traveling for both the first and second week of April. Ok here it goes: How does March 12 - 15th work for everyone?
  18. Been researching this to death: now Yamaha is selling the Shaft drive sub assembly as a kit... 2005 650 Vstar Midnight Custom "Not the california model" Part number: 5fb-y4617-00-00 the kit is all inclusive, from the cir clip at the front of the driveshaft, the driveshaft and all the hardware, " all the way back to and including the final drive." WTH! Seems there has been a lot of problems due to misalignments and "I'm suspecting inadaquate machining" of these sub assemblies as why would they now include the drive shafts ??? Somethings going on... Everyone on the net is having the same problem with these driveshaft assemblies and they say the same thing The bikes are BULLETPROOF but the final drives are pure junk. Decided not to weld as if it came apart and locked up the rear wheel it wouldn't be good...LOL Cheapest I can get it on line appears is 656.32 from www.StadiumYamaha.com has anyone had any business with them? Sure would be nice if someone could purchase this wholesale as my bikes 7 yrs old and worth about $3000 max... Signed Truly Disgusted in WV Oh checked out XVS1100 and they have different part numbers? they list for $610 but do not come with the drive shafts or parts also appears to be different as the spring goes into to the driveshaft and not a 2 " long spline...
  19. "Will you pre-book motel rooms or will we look for motel rooms according to progress made? Any more thoughts about the dates? Thanks!" For trip down, will book on the fly. We've found if you hit a rest stop and grab hotel literature you can get some really good rates... When we hit Key Largo, we should probably have reservations before hand??? Need to make some calls. Not sure on exact date, will probably decide that after Crhristmas/New Year but definately need to firm that up and get posted on our calendar of events...
  20. Hey Leo, Looked at Mapquest, Cransford,NJ to Hillsville,Va is 517 mi. If you left at 8 am. Friday travel 310 mi. to Woodstock,VA stay overnight it would be around a 7 hour ride... thats a very conserative number assuming 50 mph(including breaks) and a 1 hour lunch... I'm assuming your on a 09 Hannigan RSV trike? Personally have a Utopia backrest and it is the Cats Meow! Then if you left at 8 am Saturday and you could meet us in I-77/I-81 area at noon.. although that would leave a 300 mile to go. What we normally do is time our stops to maximize efficiency... Neither one of us is a smoker so that helps alot... Here's how a day normal progresses: Wake at 7 am. eat breakfast, pack bikes (we always have a seperate overnight bag so that is just a matter of carrying a bag and helmet to the bike.) 8 am. depart 10 am. Gas and 15 - 20 min. rest stop, normally around the +100 mile mark 12 pm. Gas and lunch normally 1 hour, normally around the +200 mile mark 1 pm. on the road 3 pm. Gas and 15 -20 min. rest stop, normally around the +300 mile mark 5 pm. Gas and 15 - 20 min.rest stop, normally around the +400 mile mark 6 - 7 pm. Gas stop, normally around the +500 mile mark, time to park the "fully fueled" bikes for the night. Eat dinner have a cold one ... Somedays you make better time than others. Normally we average 58 miles an hour thats 70 mph % 60 min = 1.16666666 X 100 min. travel time = 116 % 2 hrs. = 58.33 and thats with a 20 min. stop every 2 hours. Very important for everyone to fill up at every stop or will make entire group stop which kills entire planning. Theres a method to this madness and we've found it to be the most efficient use of time. on the road about 10 - 11 hours but it's a very plesant 10 hours. We never stop at a rest stop unless it's for a quick bathroom break or hotel literature/maps stop.
  21. Sandyville to Ft. Lauderdale 1018 miles. Yemassee, SC off of I-95 is the approx. halfway point at 512 mi. I will Leave Saturday 8 am, travel 200 mi. and be at a pre-determined meeting place, intersection of I-77 and I-81 by lunch??? If we made it to Yemassee, SC. that would leave another 506 miles to go to Ft lauderdale,fl. If my friend comes along, he's got another hour to travel as he lives in Whipple,oh. Rick, don't know if we're going to stop and do an overnight before Savannah,Ga. Depends on how everyone feels about it at that point. Whipple,Oh to Savannah, Ga is about 610 mi. and thats pushing it, as my friends on a Harley...(just kidding) On past trips we stopped around the Orangeburg, SC. area. Regardless, we could meet around the Savannah area before lunch Sunday, I'm sure. Thinking if we leave Sunday at 8am we should be in the Ft. Lauderdale area by 6:30-7:00PM. or before. We can spend the night there, then head to key Largo and be there before lunch Monday morning. Wahhhh Hoo!
  22. Just checked out mapquest: Will be traveling 77S to 26E merging onto I-95 S via EXIT 169A toward Savannah It's about a 500 mile ride from my house. Hows far from home is that point for you ?
  23. Been doin a little research... mainly on the impact of college kids on this trip... http://www.tripsmarter.com/travelinfo/panama-city-beach/spring-break-college-university-dates-0 Am actually leaning towards last week of March Or the first week of April. need to look into rate changes for different dates... and weather... Keep the input comming Thanks Joe

  25. Glad your Ok my friend. Trust no one on the interstate roads. Personally am extra cautious at exit/entrance ramps and when I see obstructions emergency vehicles and try to never be parallel to anyone at any of these... heh, heh, can't always pull that off though.... In fact one of my pet peeves is when someone is piddiling around passing you and there are cars merging onto the interstate in front of you. If I'm in the left lane, I always either accelerate so they can move over and get behind me or I will let off the gas so they can get over in front. I never just maintain my speed and assume they won't cut me off, unless of course I'm in my 1 ton Chevy dumptruck. For some reason they seem to stay clear of that:whistling: I'm just kidding of course... Sounds like that truck driver needed his !
