  1. Been here at Foxwoods Casino and Mohegan Sun in Ct since Sunday.Ive been injecting money into the economy trying to bail your government out.I think I done my share. Will be heading back north to the border tomorrow. We had a great time but getting homesick.
  2. A friend sent me this. Wonder how long it will be before it's south of the border. http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/calgary/Noise+Snare+ready+muffle+Calgary+bikers/5702613/story.html
  3. http://www.vancouversun.com/news/pistol+packing+seniors+fined+after+border+bust/5827447/story.html Thought some of you might find this interesting. Two Americans fined $20,000 for not declaring 6 guns at the border into Canada I thought the articles closing paragraph was "interesting" "Outside, Barr was asked why they were carrying so many guns, and he said he’d heard that northern Canada was wild and dangerous — “a bit like it was in the old covered wagon days.”
  4. Hey folks, it has been a while since my favourite US beer brand has been available in Ontario, Gennessee Cream Ale. I am in the process of getting my citizenship card in order to obtain my passport, at which point I plan on making a border run. (Red tape nightmare) Once I get this I plan on making a trip for some beer. Where is the cheapest place close to the Fort Erie or Niagara Falls border where I can score some? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
  5. Some of you may be having problems accessing the site. I have wasn't able to access it for a while either. I have spoken to our hosting company and it is NOT a problem with our actual site but a routing issue that they are working on. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon. Apparently there is an issue with some routers somewhere along the Colorado border. Here is what I was told: We are experiencing a 20gbit DDoS attack and we are working to resolve the issue. You will be updated in this ticket when more information is known.
  6. I am thinking of leading a group of Arkansas Riders on a longer ride and have been wondering about Ontario, Canada. Someone educate me on a couple of things regarding Ontario (sorry for my ignorance). I know we'll all need to have passports, but where or what is the best place to cross the border? What is the best time of the year to make a 14-21 day trip like this? What are some MUST SEE sites and things to see in Ontario? Thanks for any information. Wally

  9. Don't forget our aggreement we made trogether But Im going to A NICE guy , INSTEAD OF 4 ,I ONLY WANT 2 AND I need to bring both of them across the border
  10. Well this is my first try at posting some pictures, I think I have uploaded the pictures and if I have you will see that I have a Uni-go single wheel trailer, works well and I have pulled it about 3K to date. We use to have just the one Border Terrier (Connor) and he rode on the back in a box or in the box on the luggage rack if Mary Ann was along. This worked great and drew a lot of looks and picture taking. We we got another Border Terrier (Piper) and the box was just to small and the luggage rack shouldn't have 40 lbs on it . Need, the mother of invention, Put a removable floor in the Uni-go and made the metal cage, added a little canvas work and there you have it. The dogs love it and now they both can go. Just got back from 6 weeks in Florida and they probably rode over a thousand miles in it, Just say "Motorcycle" and they jump in
  11. Heard a lot about it this time and we can't say it enough. HATS OFF TO OUR CANADIAN FRIENDS FOR HOSTING THE GAMES!!! A really class act. More Gold than Mt T can wear!!! 13. After extensive research (thanks to this site and the expertise within) I would like to obtain some Road King pipes for my 2nd gen. The problem is that although they seem to be plentiful in the USA for around $30+, to get them north of the border I am looking at an addition $150. Has anyone north of the border found a reasonable source or perhaps know of some available that won't break the bank? Thanks, Jdix
  14. OK folks, I am looking for help/suggestions here. As most of you know, Darrell Steuer (Maddabber) was the winner of the Bushtec trailer at this years VentureRider International Rally. Most of you also know that Darrell is dealing with some serious health issues at this time and I hope you are all praying for him. Last week, I drove down to Jacksboro, TN to the Bushtec factory and picked up his trailer for him and now have it at my house here in Oberlin, OH. I told Darrell that I would store it for him until he is able to get it and I have absolutely no problem doing that but it would be great if we could get it to him. So, do we have enough members between here and London, Ontario, Canada to pull this off? I also need information on getting it across the border. All the paperwork for the trailer was mailed to Darrell and I'm sure he will send it to us if we need it but what do we need and what is it going to cost to get it across the border? Your suggestions are welcome and needed. Thanks.
  15. As I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning, the news was talking about the priorities of the incoming admimistration. One at the top of the list was climate change. That made me feel better as it is 18 degrees outside and it is still over a month until winter gets here. I have to say that I can not see how you folks from up north deal with winter, especially our friends north of the border. This would be even more difficult for me due to my love of motorcycles. But, I guess for many of you, it's snowmobile time. Try to stay warm. RandyA
  16. ...do you pick up hitch hikers? do you make them wear a helmet? What if they fall asleep on the bike? What if they don't want to get off? Would you take them across an international border? I picked up this guy in Ohio, thought I heard him say something about wanting to go to Quebec but I don't understand french. He looked like he was enjoying the ride so I let him stay on; and the border guard didn't even ask him any questions!! (at least they are getting smaller and aren't breaking my air dam)
  17. Okay now there is a few tricks when trying to cross the CDN - US border, which some of this applies to other border crossings as well. Firstly make sure you have a license plate, for some reason they want to see one to determine what Country you live. This past weekend we were heading off to Squidleys then to Floyds for the Maintenance BBQ. AS I was getting things ready, I grabbed my wifes ID and mine, packed the bike and we were off. We get to the Ferry with about 15 minutes before it stopped for the evening. While crossing and I grabbed the ID's, and looking at it I realized I grabbed the kids ID not Rhonda's. Oh know. Well the border guy advises us what we already knew, that you have to have ID. After being puled over the fellow brought Rhonda into the customs and asked her a bunch of questions. He was very abrupt and not nice at all actually called her stupid twice, but then let us carry on. Had great evening and day today and when we got to Canada the lady crossing guard wondered how we got into the states, and let us go. I guess the main point is to always carry you ID. By the way I was not in the dog house too long. Brad
  18. The latest scheme to cut time crossing the Mexico border. http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20080619/news_1m19scooter.html I wonder how many students we will get because of this. Rod
