  1. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ kill anyone in any way - go to jail.
  2. while you are buying leather, get a piece of suede to sew on the back. that is what i use for holsters to keep leather from scratching gun metal.
  3. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DOH!! I did have to laugh at my self once when I was in gear just to pull ahead out of the garage. slipped the kickstand down and it died. what the heck i thought. then i figured it out - DOH! this was the early days of owning the RSV.
  4. I don't know your payoff (and don't want to), but instead of taking the repo mark on the credit score, is there enough room to let it go to dealer? don't anwer on here, just food for your information. this is of course if no one on here buys it or it sells locally. I hate to see this, but times are difficult and we must to what it takes.
  5. I believe he changed professions - he sell snowmobile parts - http://www.alssnowmobile.com/
  6. luckily enough, I flipped my kill switch while driving when i moved my hand to a more comfortable position. my pucker factor went ski hi. I learned right then and there that the kill switch is an item to watch. i have made it a habit to use it to kill the bike regularly so I am reminded to turn it to "on".
  7. I know what you are sayin. I have made the last 2 maint days in a cage. this last one, I had the gas tank in the back o the truk. once the hole was fixed, i handed it off to Hal for painting. it should be ready this week. this weekend I have repairs at the camp to tend to and work is only letting us off on an as really needed basis. so it will have to wait. I would like to make it ya'll 's way, maybe in the spring.
  8. I would like to go up there, but I can't. work committments and no working gas tank for the scooter. It would be nice to go east this time.
  9. With a buy it now at 900, i bet reserve is not far from that.
  10. for your 83, i would wait for the 1st gen folks to chime in. seems though that ebay seller Pinwall is a major souce. there is a classified section here where folks put stuff up for sale. if you don't see what you want in our classifieds, open a thread with want to buy and state what your needs are. Welcome to the site and we are glad to see you here.
  11. If you can afford to hold on to the RSTD, wait until the economy heals and then put it bak on the market.
  12. maybe you can get a used one in nice shape and then have a fabricator type of person bend it in some. then install it on yor bike.
  13. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ this may be an idea to try, but I would not spring it on anyone at the departure point. that is just me. I would arrange a ride in advance with the arrangement that each driver will have a passenger. there have been occations we all know about where the original thought would be viable, but I don't think this situation is one of those times.
  14. times do change, I went for my endorsement back in the mid 80's. after passing the written test, the lady asked where my motorcycle was. i held up my helmet and said it's in the parking lot. she asked if i had an accident or ticket on the way there. I said no and she said well you passed the driving test. i got my endorsement then and there. i have kept it over the years that I did not have a scooter and am glad that I have. now i just need to make the RLAP class in Houston before cold weather sets in (again). got rained out last year.

  19. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is a Goffins. Now you need to add room for another first gen with a bird rest!
  20. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Goose, you got it straight that time.
  21. prayers said and angles sent.
  22. George, prayers have been said and angels have been dispatched. keep the chin up and know things will get better.
  23. prayers sent and angles called.
  24. as to my just previous post - no gas cap. it doesn't go anywhere or make any noise at all. It will soon enough, though. I have had enough of this ride a month and down for a month garbage. I should get a second bike. if i could i would.
  25. well, I showed Deb the pics and she agreed with the majority, NOT ! I will probably add about 60 % white to it in some complimentary blending lines. this will be a spare tank. and since I gave Hal my gas cap, I won't be riding anyway. Duh, didn't think that far. SO, the original white one will go on and when I feel creative, I will swap em out - - when Deb is out of town that is. I appreciate the input. the police look that Vgoose mentioned - I have some spare battery covers I could do in black and really do it up.
