  1. well, Rick, looks like no one so far can answer your questions. does this stuff happen to you? I had duns 404 fore and aft on our bike when we bought it used. since it had been awhile since i had a bike, i really did not know what i was driving on, though i had no problems taking off hard, stopping hard and no sounds when cornering. I caught a rivet and had a slow leak on the rear, thus finding that out next day when flat in the garage. I bought the dun E3 to replace it. i can tell a "to the good" difference with it. it makes just enough noise in a curve to let me know we are in a curve but otherwise is performs better than the d404's. If you have the Bridge spits, let us know how you like them and how they perform for you. just cause bridge makes our OEM's, doesn't mean the don't make other tires that may be a viable future choice. we should keep our minds open and our tanks full.
  2. prayers sent for the families. I don't ride some day when i want to cause i don't feel 100 %. I know ya need to be careful out there.
  3. prayers sent
  4. there are many comments on oil. I use yammy dino oil. that's what was in it when i bought it, it runs fine, so i am not going change anytime soon. i use the purolator oil filter that someone recomended. if you do a search on oil, you will find many threads with a lot of material to read. nice thing is, another 3k miles and you can try something different, how cool is that.
  5. Man, how nice was that show!! great pics. my dad had a chevy truk like one o the pictures. brought back memories. what a feel good moment. thank you.
  6. correct bout the mounting holes missing from the first gen.
  7. Yea, but you have a fix in place, so you are not really "waiting" on something if you get warranty parts.
  8. I would add a "D" ring between the front and middle. this way you can go from the triple tree to the new "D" ring and clear the glexi. to those who like the canyon dancer, i wish you continued luck. i bought a set and used them once. they broke my left Kury ISO handgrip. they will be for sale soon. anyone have a left Kury ISO handgrip in good shape for sale?
  9. your gut is telling you the truth. we all generously lub the splines on our hub. they take lube off. take your bak tire n rim off your self, order the tire online, bring them both to another place for dismount and new mount. go home, do some lubing as outline in the maintenance threads and put your new tire on. this way you know it was done right.
  10. I believe that they wanted to good, but the cost was great. plus all the jobs were mostly for press purposes due to all the bad press and to minimize the impact to share holders. Now that this is on the back side and they have breathing room, time to cut back. also, as pointed out, it is not being covered by the press near so closely. I don't think what i wrote was exactly what i meant, but ya'll got the point. sheesh, maybe i should brew another pot o' coffee!
  11. good luck and prayer sent.
  12. Just remember what you motorcycle is worth. ask yer sef if it is worth risking on a questionable trailer. I am sayin not to use it, but just look things over that are mentioned here. I won't risk my 10 grand scooter for 2oo dollars worth of rental money. times are hard and 200 bux could be alot, but what if you loose the scooter. you have the opportunity now to get it right. this could be the hindsight we talk about after a bad happening. but since it is before the hauling, it is called foresight and planning. If u are near squid, borrow that one.
  13. Ok this is way tooooo early for me for this double listing who did what. I will acknowledge that someone had a good experience at a dealer. nuff said. I do have a second cup of coffee in my hand and at the moment, that is very important.
  14. I wouldn't mind have a 1 gen to go with my 2 nd gen. I have enough stuff to take care of that i really don't want another motorcycle at this time. I have to wonder about that add, though. seller state motor new, but then states 500 street miles. adds that it is 20 yrs old. I see a lot of misleading on this one. if a person could get a better price and pick up, them maybe ok, but I agree that is a 2nd gen motor and they came out when, in 99 ???
  15. sorry, not to hijack, but double good on ya for this. sometimes ebay is higher priced than local or online pricing. great find!!!
  16. You are right about yard sales. bad thing that sometimes happens is that you find a "project" starter and gives you another hunt to add to the list. I got to be careful when hitting those sales.
  17. it is always great to hear when a dealer outshines the general rep that goes around. our local yammy shop has been a bit friendlier these days and it makes it nicer to shop there. when looking for a part, the parts counter guys have learned I know my bikes micor fish lists and just let me use the computer to find it while they help another customer if they are busy. then i say "found it" and the write up the order. they say i am one of two riders who know what they want much less have part and VIN numbers in hand.
  18. I hope you like it too. I have the E3 on my 04 RSV rear rim and hope to replace the dun 404 front as soon as it wears down enough. post back here what your opinion is after riding it awhile.
  19. It is the same place SilvrT posted the Crash-Proof Motorcycle System (new technology)! video Watch all the way to the end... http://biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=21816 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ not sayin anythin, jus sayin.
  21. take a look at some of these designs. http://biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=21979 don't know what your rider may think of a couple of the "swankier" designs !!!
  22. Well, I will be at work. so someone have a cold one for me and everyone have a good time.
  23. I haven't gone long distances yet, but i use a large bandana made into a triangle with a single overhand knot. so far so good. I keep ya'll's suggestions, though, if things change.
  24. Well, I am 50 an a haf. this o4 RSV is ours for a year now and is my 4th bike. we have put about 2 thousand miles on it. we'd have more, but work and kids slow us down. our RSV has just under 23,000 miles on it. We sure like it.
  25. that is very nice. i hope you get lots of care free use from it. good job!
