  2. Now keep in mind, folks, it is currently SNOWING in the area yet those guys go out for ice cream!!! This truly is an Eating Club with a riding disorder... PS we didn't go because we rode with someone else.
  3. Just got back from the M&E, small turnout but great time great food anyways. Yanks outnumbered the Canucks for a change, 11 to 7!!! Here's some pix...
  4. Let all the air out of the rear trailer tires which wil lower the trailer thus decreasing the angle. Then just repump up the tires, orrrr, remove the tires and set the trailer gently down on the ground on the axles, then rejack the trailer up and reinstall the tires...
  5. Yah! Good idea with the PVC. A (semi) local member has a complete setup for rebuilding the forks, and he has this metal collar that slides on and you just sort of bounce it on the seals to get them to seat. Sort of reminded me of the strong man thingies at the amusement parks where you hit the lever with a mallet and the thingie slides up the pole and rings the bell...
  6. Yes, contact either me or Big Tom for local info and riding companions. Tom does not have his passport but we do. The big event that weekend is Marcarl's annual M&E in Brantford Ontario where there is usually around 50 bikes or so. It is on a Saturday. We go across at Ft. Erie but there is a member in Niagara Falls Ont that will probably be going and if so I'm sure he would be glad to lead you, or we could meet in Ft Erie and you can ride with us.
  7. One place to check is the socket itself where the wires are. Make sure there is plenty clearance between the center hot conection and the ground. Even though there may be clearance as you look at it, when you press the element in the force could push the hot lead to the side and short out against the shell which is of course ground...
  8. Funny you should mention it, one of my future projects is to make an 87 trunk work like an 85...
  9. I exspect to see her Saturday fer sure!!!!
  10. Thanks, Jerry, we will give it some thought!!
  11. Watcha meen I don't spel reel gude?? Thair's nuthin wronge widh my speling...
  12. I have a few spare rubbers, not sure if I have the one missing...
  13. Worth considering, Art, worth considering!!
  14. Standin' Tall, Gary!!!!!
  15. Died for me in the middle of a sentence!!!
  16. Yes you can, and if you're nice to me I will send you the raw exhaust hangers needed for the mod, you drill the holes, clean and polish the aluminum... There will be 2 metric bolts that you will have to buy, otherwise the hardware comes from what you take off for the center bolt and washer... As far as the driver boards, be prepared to spend some bucks for them. The Ventureline setup is scarce and goes for pretty big bucks on Fleabay when they come up. If I recall right, there is some aftermarket ones available that sort of fit and go for over $400!
  17. Sad news indeed. Our condolances to the family.
  18. We could meet up with you sometimes around 7 ish in Ft Erie...
  19. Unless we were on some rugged or uneven terrain, I would let her get on first while I "steadied" the bike (Not really). She does as described, left foot on the florboard, then swing her right leg over. Then I would get on, pop the bike up, and away we went. In cases where I was alreadsy on, she would steady herself with her arms on my shoulder and get on. Geting off, I'm off first, then she just swings her right leg over and slides off nice and lady like...
  20. The gold 1st gen may have been Bull's, he lives around that area. There are a few members in the region. We are a litle more west...
  21. Another trick you can do with MK1's is to remove the rubber bezel, clean it and degrease it with mineral spirits or denatured alcohol, and paint it white with paint specifically for rubber, then reinstall. Night and day difference. Last I checked, black ABSORBS light while white reflects it!!!!!
  22. Yah!! Typo!! Only 83's had`the frame issue!!
  23. Those pegs were aftermarket, and are cast white metal. Shame, I threw out one of those a few months ago. Yes, those dash covers are for where the optional CB goeson a MK1, and where the radio goes on the other side on a "Standard." Can't say if I ever saw those pieces on your fax machine, but may be as suggested for MK 2 below the trunk... PS I have seen people cut that radio piece and install a "Guy it at Wally World" radio there!
  24. The frame issue was only with the '85. The 2nd gear issue was corrected midway thru the '85 year... MK1 CB was optional, standard on the MK2 for the Royale. The "Standard was discontued in '87 I think.
  25. Awwww, man, we missed Mike and pyro Tina yesterday!??! Who else showed up Tom??
