  1. While Guido was finishing preparing Bongo Bob's pizza, he was also working on a "special" maintenance day pizza. He went over the list of ingredients, the usual, except for it also called for gun powder and shrapnel from left over 1st gen plastic fairings, etc! Definately not an appetizing concoction, for sure, but Guido informed Bongo that this prototype pizza was not for eating, but rather for a diversion! So THAT's what he wanted the spare parts for!! Guido insists that the pizza won't be lethal but rather just an attention getter. So, Bongo and Becky enjoy the delicious pizza Guido has prepared for them. Just as they put the last remaining pieces in the refrigerator the phone rings. It's a long distance call! Who could it be??? It's not an 800 number or a political call...
  2. Yup! No problem rerading it, but then after Silver T saw a shapely woman, sure enough, female figure there!!
  3. When you pass thru the door is always open!!!
  4. Does this also include the Flanders bars for the RSV???
  5. As Semi mentioned, it has a lot to do with the crown of the road and which side of the lane you tend to ride in...
  6. Yah! New plugs, drain the gas in your tank and use it for your lawnmower or killing weeds, and get a tank of good fresh gas. Use up a can of seafoam, 1/2 can per tankful, and drive it like you stole it. Nothing wrong with the NGK plugs, Iridium plugs may be a waste of money in a bike as motorcycles tend to be rough on plugs, some members change their plugs annually. As was mentioned, you could be experiencing a weak coil so be prepared to replace one. Hey, a spare coil laying around is not a bad thing... PS no, spark plugs do not necessarily come pregapped, always check and adjust your gap when instaslling plugs!!
  7. Word of warning with synthetic oils, make sure there are NO friction modifiers in the oil unless you like a slipping clutch. The engine also has too few miles on it for synthetic oil anyway for proper break in wear IMHO. Yes, they are easy to drop with low speed maneuvers but there are lowering kits that help that out. Or, you can go the route I did and never drop it again ever... Welcome aboard!!
  8. What Squid said!! Replace the slave cylinder and do a rebuild on the master cylinder. Hone the master if you can find small enough diameter honing stones...
  9. Yup, if Larry made it, it is quality!!
  10. Being an older bike, it will require TLC no matter what make or model. The 1st gen MK1 is an incredable touring bike with the heart of a sports bike. Gi9ve it some love and care and it will reward you with many many miles of pleasure! The engines are pretty much bullet proof, but on the 84 there was a 2nd gear problem that may or may not be fixed on the one you are looking at. Also, the MK1's brakes need improvng, though adequate, just barely. The MK2, slightly slower, has better brakes, but the '84 can be updated but requires swapping out the front forks. Swing a leg over it and take it for a test drive. Warning, they are a tall and heavy bike and just a tad top heavy but once you get used to it an incredable cruiser...
  11. Yah!! Lonna is an excellent cook!! Be careful, 1st Gen's can and will pop a wheelie really easy...
  12. Yes, highly likely your fuel pump bit the big one. Did you use the other wire on the fuel pump or chassis for ground when measuring? If you measured across both wires then definately the fuel pump. If you used chassis ground there may be a problem with the ground wire to the fuel pump...
  13. Yah! You may want to enlist the help of someone and monitor the voltage across the fuel pump. You should see 12 volts across the fuel pump for just about 5 seconds when the ignition switch is turned on then zero volts until the bike starts then 12 volts will return...
  14. Meanwhile, Big Tom stops over to Bongo Bob's place with Spanky, Bodner, Rickster and some guy named Guido. After brief formalities they proceed to inform Bongo of the master plan and see if there are any 1st Gen parts that can be incorporated as ploys to divert attention while the real threat is implimented. Motorcycle Tom, seeing the crowd on Bongo's deck, comes over to socialize and immediately is made privy to the whole master plan including the key role the pink chaps and vest play. (Oops, I shouldn't have mentioned that!!!) MC Tom then adds a very clever twist...
  15. Rig it with explosives and leave it out with a "Steal Me" sign on it...

  23. Yah! Not nercessarily a big Elvis fanatic here so that did not offend me in the least, but if this was America's Got Talent I would have "X"ed him in less than 30 seconds. Not a million dollar act...
  24. I have a Clearview with the vent and am pleased with it, but am now convinced the F4 is even better! Much more durable and scratch resistant, and a tad wider...
