  1. I think Don is just letting this one ride!! The real key is BANDWIDTH!! Web access is based on how much BANDWIDTH you use!! That means every time you post it costs a certain amount. As the website grows, so does the operating expense. Don tried to keep the site free as long as his pocketbook could hold out, but as it grew he had to make a decision to charge a nominal fee. True, the membership lists a large amount but that includes all members past and present. A lot of the members on the list were trial memberas who didn't stick around. As far as active members it is a lot less, as was already mentioned. There is also a lot of "behind the curtains" activities that do not get mentioned that a lot of members have benefited from. I know when I was in the hospital after having my toe amputated there magically appeared a lovely bouquet from VR, and that was before the membership fee came about. Like other members, I have no problem with the $12 a year!! Such a small cost to keep this great organization and FAMILY together!! I honestly do not know what I would sdo without them!! Any survivers of the "Great Crash" of years ago will tell you trhe desparation we all suffrered and how we all scrambled to get in contact with other members! Even if Don was getting rich off this site, which he is not, I wouldn't care and would continue to support Ventureriders!!!!!
  2. Don't worry about that "clanging" sound your computer made when you paid your dues, it's just the watchman making sure you are all tucked in here at the asylum...
  3. Awwww, man Brian, I'm speechless!! I'm so sorry to hear of your unfortunate incident, but glad you can communicate with us! I've had broken ribs, and broken collarbones, but not together, so I know how uncomfortable it is. You take time and heal and keep us up to date, you have many friends here who care about you!!
  4. The above, as well as possibily corrosion on the fuse contacts. I would go with the start switch first though...
  5. I want extra cherries on my banana split Tom...
  6. Buy voice recognition software! Yes I am impressed a righty is able to type left hand only! Really slow, isn't it?!!? Heal fast my friend...
  7. I wonder what ever happened to Pyro??
  8. Different shape, more squareish rather than rectangular, and different connectors...
  9. Done Deal, Mini!
  10. Yup! '83 will only work on '83. Different shape and size on the '84 up...
  11. Can't find it so I must have already gave it away, sorry...
  12. Nah! Unleaded works fine. Regular is usually OK but mine had a slight spark knock under load so I ran premium most of the time, but others have had no issues using regular unleaded. So far I have never heard of anyone eating valves using unleaded...
  13. I pull mine all day 75 - 80 and have to remember it's back there!! Of course I have the 12" rims and independant suspension on my Piggy Backer...
  14. Changing Rubber!!! Oh, I thought you said changing BUBBER!! Good luck with that...
  15. I did at one time, but I'm not sure what happened to it. I will look after Church...
  16. Wow!! I am impressed!! As I reflect, there is literally only a few of the many people we know that are still on their first marriage!!
  17. Let it grow and eventually you will have nice shade on your deck, cheaper than buying one of those umbrellas...
  18. Hey Tom, looking forward to seeing you at the International next month, we have a lot of great things planned. Hopefully this senile old brain of mine will remember what you look like since last September...
  19. Try this... http://www.venturerider.org/private/rsvassemblymanual.pdf Are you removing the entire fairing or splitting it in two?? If you are just splitting it to service something inside it's easy and should take 10 minutes or less depending on whether or not you have driving lights on it...
  20. Flaqmethrower... Nah, the Roundup will do it.
  21. OK, the basic rack for the '83 and '84 had some extra metal added to it for '85 and the antenna bracket is longer to accomodate the bigger trunk. Then they welded the two angular bars on the '86 thru '93 but the initial '83 rack is the same as always, just added extra stuff to it! That being said, if you are coming to the international Dan, I have an extra MK2 rack you can have...
  22. Uhhhh, maybe...
  23. Pretty darn close, but where's Alaska??
  24. Yooper, I have the main frame piece that the spealer mounts on to, ansd the rest of the pieces mount into, but that's all!! Shame it's the right side, the piece that the CB mounts into is rare and commands a big buck, lots of MK1 people upgrading to the better MK2 CB. Do you need a speaker grille as well?? PM me your address and I will get it out to you...
  25. OK, tonight I got the 3/4 inch bore master cylinder installed and what a difference!!! I can definately lock up the rear brakes with little effort now, almost too easy! The pedal travel is waay too far though. Sooo, I'm thinking for my purposes and desires, a 7/8 bore is going to be the definitave one. Bottom line, for those who wish to follow in my footsteps, I recommend a 13/16 for power or 7/8 for a firmer pedal. 3/4 is just a tad too much and the 1 1/8 was waaaay too big with minimal pedal travel but you really have to stand on them to lock them up. I'm not going to be in a big rush to shell out yet another $80 for the 7/8 master but will sometime this summer. The amount of pedal travel is just a tad scarry to me. I still have the front brakes to do yet with ss lines, a 14mm master, and R1 calipers and EBC shoes. I have everything acquired butr have to clean up and paint the calipers, and clean up the master a tad but it is pretty good looking already. There's always something! The next project after the brakes is to quiet down the exhaust. I want Gold Wing type Quiet!! I'm looking at a few possibilities for mufflers that will work...
