  1. I'm thinking powder coating it gloss black. Maybe even the lower fork tubes. The all red thing is getting old. Time for a change. Already have a stock radiator cover, also have one of the aluminum finned ones I got from Bongo a couple of years ago, just need to get it done & on. I haven't came up with a good winter project yet, need to figure something out though. Probably don't need to make it any faster than it is now. Paint job might be the project. Canary Yellow (#800 I think), bright as I can find. Would like to find a decent header that would fit and not spend a fortune. Thats where my power gain would be at. Gary
  2. These are a definite improvement over the stock brace. Especially if you like push the scooter in curves a little. That black anodized one would sure match my VMax front rim !! Gary
  3. VMax went to the single pickup coil in 1990, same year as the Venture did. Gary
  4. Rick, I don't see much mention of 1st gen seats. Can you do any good to them? If you can, could you add some stitching at the seam behind riders tailbone on the upper seam? I opened this at seam to put my backrest mount through. It needs reinforced at each end a little, Gary
  5. 1-900-Venture $3.95 minute. Gary
  6. I will take one. Gary
  7. You have a slab now don't you? If you do, what is it you want someone to do to this existing, but out of square slab, other than just fix it? Do yo want it made a lot bigger? Why not just build the garage on the out of square slab and be done with it. Garage can be built perfectly square, it just won't extend all the way to the end on the out of square diagonals. Seem like you can put a 38' x 18' building up with what you have now. Gary
  8. It is on the front of the clutch lever housing. About 3/4" dia. See if switch is fully engaged into housing and has no movement in or out. How much up & down movement is there at the far end of the clutch lever? By this I mean the movement other than the free play when the lever is pulled to engage clutch. This excess movement can come from a worn bushing in the lever where the pivot screw passes through it. Gary
  9. This drug is a Schedule III narcotic. It should not be given away, this would be a felony. Not trying to be a wet blanket, but offering this to the wrong person, especially on the internet could cause some significant drug charges. Gary
  10. What you get in the way of medical insurance is offset by what you pay in the way of vehicle insurance. I have seen prices way above a $1000 a year for bike insurance in Canada, I pay just over $100 for full coverages with fairly high payment coverages (250,000/500,000 coverages). Granted this is apples and oranges comparison, but it goes both ways. Gary
  11. Good luck Randy !! Gary
  12. Steel braided YCIS hoses ?? OMG !!! ROFLMAO Gary
  13. None, Zip, Nada, Not a real common failure, but if you are in there it would be something to consider updating. Gary
  14. I don't think that one that is out of square by 10" would matter much for this. Some probably only couple inches thick in area for lift, depending on how good contractor was!! Gary
  15. What is seller ID? Gary
  16. There is a $200 off coupon in the December issue of Motor Cyclist magazine for a 1000# Harbor Freight lift. Limit 4 per coupon. I could get extras. You come get it. Thinking about mounting it in the floor, like in picture attached. Gary
  17. It is a security screw. Prevents tampering. Use a pair of channel locks to remove & replace all the screws with S.S. allen heads. Gary
  18. I will help any I can, Stuff is on my non working PC, but that will be replaced soon. Stuff is on separate hard drive. Gary
  19. My bad, I thought you meant checked the valve clearance. If you pulled heads, then complete motor was on bench, you might have got oil in there. None of the actual head work would cause coolant/oil mingling, but getting there would. Heads correctly torqued? Were the joint bypass tubes in good shape and new o-rings? You had to pull these to pull heads. Next likely suspect would be water pump mechanical seal. Another possibility would be the 'Twinkie', not sure of the official name. Lays on block in the upper 'V' area. Couple of special o-ring molded gaskets and a few regular o-rings. Gary
  20. Having the valve covers off only would not open up the cooling side. Heads have to be pulled or coolant bypass tube damaged from right & left side in each head. Gary
  21. Good luck Dan. Thank God for people that take the time to learn CPR !! Gary

  23. You will probably be better getting a used one. Pinwall has them all the time. A radiator shop may be able to resolder, haven't ever had need to check on this. Gary
  24. I didn't do manual upload.. Link to manuals is: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3384 Gary
  25. It's a good day then! Gary
