  1. You may need a new Main Switch, where the Keys goes in
  2. You might take a look at the white Spot next to the Volume Knob. I think there's the Mic for Volume Control under the white Mesh. If i'm cought in Rain, the Auto Volume doesn't work until i blow the Water away there
  3. Oh yes, Hamilton and Rosberg were sentenced to ten Places Penalty on the starting Grid of the french GP.
  4. Mike, why don't you use a angle Grinder and cut some of the strongest Parts of the Springs off and replace it with about the same Size of the stock Spring ? You only need to keep the Angles straight and extra Washers between the both Spring Parts. At least this is done in Racing when needed of two way different Spring Rates. This would give you little more static Sag and help keepiong the Bike somehow more upright.
  5. Not his first dumb Move. He throw away the Championship last Year in the Gravel. His Win in Monaco was only because he lost the Car and was forced to enter the Pits at the right Time. He's remembering me on Juan Pablo Montoya more and more... I'm just glad he hit Raikkonen and not Kubica. The Championship is really getting interesting now. Massa's Overtaking in the Hairpin was a fantastic Maneuver. Reminded my on Zanardi and Cork's Screw. He's brilliant on the Wheel, but has no Luck. I'm sorry for Heidfeld. He has done most of the Work since Years and now Kubica is harvesting from his Work. But he can't blame him for being faster.
  6. Now, that was EXACTLY what i was thinking when i read 'Harpoons" .... :rotf::rotf::rotf:
  7. Maybe it's just Time to clean everything inside from collected Dust and probably replace the Fan ?
  8. Jeremy, i mounted a Pair of other, used Fork Legs coming from a '90 VR. My front shook the Handlebars when going over a Bump for about half an Inch seen from the End of the Grips and always felt bouncing. This is how i bought the Bike 4 Years ago and it was getting worse over time. Since i plan on some serious Rides with the Misses on the back Seat, i wanted this sorted out badly. The ride was harsh too, even if i did go for 7.5 Weight Fork Oil on my first Try in May. This worked out fine in Terms of giving a smother Ride over Bumps, but did nothing on the shaking of the Bars. And in fast Corners, there was not much Confidence because of the light Oil and a very low damping on the rebound. I didn't got too much of riding over the Weekend, but the Bike feels much more stable and trustworthy, not as my Max of Course, but it's way better as is was before and now i feeling comfortable with the Wife on the back Seat. The upcoming Fork brace will add some Rigidity and then, this will be like i need the Bike to be. Rock Solid and holding Track and Trail until the Tires start slipping. Yes, i adjusted the Air chamber to 250mm/10 Inches of Air without Springs and the Legs fully compressed and measured from the Top of the Leg and after giving at least some 20 Strokes on each Leg to pump the Fluid into the Damping Units. This also complies somehow with the 409 ml of Oil stated in the Shop Manual. I figure, i will find one of the Tubes bent on the old Fork when dismounting them tomorrow Evening. I did find the Legs moving different and with different Force needed on my first Try in May, but I've seen so much different Forks, some even have had the Damping in the left and Rebound in right Leg. So, i figured this could be an Option, was but smelling the Rat in there.
  9. Hey Jack, buy a Timken, Koyo, SKF, FAG Brand Bearing. I personnally think the Timken's are a bit shorter in overall Lifetime, but they will be fine also. Fully sealed Bearings of Course (ZZ Ending), nothing else. Stay away from chinese Bearings. The Price should not be that much of a Difference and a good Quality Brand Bearing will last a long Time. And it's good for the Economy of the western World. Those Seals only work as a Dust Seal, you can resuse, if you get them out in reusable Condition. IF ....
  10. not being picky here, but it's 8.8 for standard Grade Bolts. There are lower Numbers on the Market also, eg. 4.6, but standard is 8.8 The green Color comes from a Coating which prevents the Bolts from rusting. It's called Passivation and the Process is similiar the anodising Aluminium Parts.
  11. I recently worked on my Forks and found a Gap of more than 1/10 of an Inch with the Pinch Bolts loose.
  12. lowest center Bolt on left rear Cover is to drain remining Oil in the Tranny. I never did this.
  13. Not to forget that the Pinch Bolts in the upper and Lower Tripple Tree have something to do with the Width of the Fork Legs on the Axle Area. If the Brace won't fit, i highly recommend to loosen anything axcept the Fender, bring the Brace and their Bolts in and tighten anything down from the Bottom to the Top. Which means, Axle first then the Brace then the Pich Bolts on lower Fork Yoke then the upper Fork Yoke.
  14. I said this before, measure the Temperature with external Device. If you find a Problem then, besides the Impeller Problem, clean and flush the Radiator. Outside and inside. The Product which lowers the Coolant Temperature is called Water Wetter.
  15. Eddy, did you think about a Vmax/FJR final Drive Unit ? I know, this a Thing Yamaha should take care of, but you like the Bike and why not go for it ? The Costs are not that high for used Pumpkin and for a test Ride, you even could leave the Speedo Pickup unmounted. second Question ... Did someone from Yamaha take a ride with you ? Just put a Helmet on and enter the rear Seat ?
  16. GW, you should check for Vacuum Leaks first. Get a Carb Cleaner, Brake Cleaner, Starter Fluid or something similiar and spray it carefully around the Carbs and Intakes with the Motor on Idle. If the Idle raises, you found the Culprit.
  17. order the new Vmax ... :rotf::rotf::rotf: Just kidding, of Course

  19. stay safe and have a nice and refreshing Week, both of you of Course
  20. there you go ... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=489
  21. Well, i think when a Dealer hassles with a Bike that much, i would be suprise if they didn't CALL him in for an Oil Change.
  22. They're not only made in Japan, but also
  23. I have to review my Findings. I got another Fork this Week and while doing the preliminary Maintenance on the 'new' Legs, i found the Spring very soft, compared to the Springs i have in my Bike. I bought the Bike used and the P/O didn't have had much of Information. So i thought i'd give the softer Springs a Try and mounted the Forklegs yesterday. After first Testride, the Fork bottomed out on a Railroad Crossing. The Road is not bad there, so i know this were the wrong Springs for me. I returned to my Shop and exchanged the Springs. The Springs of my Fork were pretty thicker on the Wire and the Windings. So, considering many Postings about Progressive Springs i've read before, i'm these are heavier Aftermarket Springs, maybe from Progressive. I did only the 8 miles Run home last Night, but i like them and the Handlebars doesn't shake anymore when going over a Bump. Encouraged Riding and Highspeed Run needs to be investigated later today. I'll investigate the old Forks and let you know my Findings. So, my new Facts are: for After Market (prob. Progressive) Spring full compressed Fork Tubes no Spring attached Airchamber more than 250 mm from Top of the inner Tube
  24. How did they know your Size ?? ??:rotf::rotf: I'm just glad that you got your Truck back. The Damage can be fixed, and if there's nothing else wrong, tha'ts what i would consider a somewhat better Outcome of the worse Situation.
  25. I think the Discussion about 'unapproved' Metzeler Tires is going too far off the Track in here. That's very funny, isn't it ?
