  1. A Head only is half of the Job. You need to turn the Engine at the Flywheel for 360 Degerees and sometimes 430 Degrees. A Head could only show how to use the Feeler Gauge and how to take the Shim out.

  3. I have had a second Browser Window open. I'm sure not going for a 2Gen. It just doesn't fit my Style. No Offense. But, didn't you like the change of Colors ?? :rotf:
  4. http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/products/modelhome/23/0/home.aspx 18,000 US Dollars, german Price is need to know ... I guess, i'm in the Market for a 1985 Venture Project Bike. Radical, bare naked, 1500 cc EFI, Upside Down Forks, massive Brake Power, 17 Inch Rims
  5. That's not i expected from a new Max, the Motor will give a very good Base for the Venture, but it's very poor for a Vmax. btw still 5 Gears
  6. Sure it's the new Max ... Countdown is in another Window :D
  7. I've never worked with Mercury since 25 Years ago. Using Mercury is forbidden for most Purposes since then. But i worked with a Morgan Carbtune and this Set was new and didn't work well. The Rods moved different somehow and were off even when pulled the same Vacuum. One was even sticking somehow. It didn't gave me too much of Confidence, in Fact, the Carb Tune gave me no Confidence. I use Vacuum Dial Gauges for Years and i'm very happy with them. Just open the up the Restrictor Valves on the Bottom after use. It prevents premature Wear on the O-Rings inside and will keep you happy for a looooooooong Time.
  8. That's right, but i would stay away from Iridium Plugs as long as the Bike isn't running right. I've too much Hassle with those expensive Plugs even at running Bikes.
  9. There's nothing to adjust or tune the Spark Timing. Only thing you can do is check the Pickup Coils and the Vacuum Sensor. Only thing i'd think of in this, your mounted the wrong Flywheel, from a 1990 VR. I once read(prob. Greg_in_Lodon?) here, the Bike won't start without the Sensor, but if your's seem to work but is missing and misfiring, this sounds not to be the Culprit.
  10. I'm sorry to hear about this, but look at it not only from the Downside. Now, it's Time get another Vehicle and you even could consider the Facts of Fuel Costs and get something less costly ?
  11. Put a Hose on the Bleeder Valve and open the Valve carefully. If Fluid comes out, get rid of that Aftermarket Lever.
  12. Did you check the Resistances of the Pick up Coils ?
  13. Nice Bike, but why do you call it "Project" ?? It seems there's some Work to do, but i wouldn't consider this a Project. It'll take some Time, yes, but we're not talking Months to get it back on the Road.
  14. Wow, my bad English doesn't allow me to read this ... Could someone translate this, PLEASEEEEEEEE ?? :rotf::rotf::rotf:
  15.
  16. Better start Savings now, even if Condor's next Group Buy Project won't fit you, we can easily help you an spending the Money. Maybe some Safety Chrome, sophisticated Brakes with R1 Calipers, just say a Word and you'll get Tons of Tipps on a good Investment. :whistling::whistling::rotf::rotf:
  17. My Bike even isn't on your Sheet. My Venture is a 3JT or in in Germany also called 3JT. I reiterate my former Statements. A Lot depends on Maintenance and Adjustments of the Carbs and the Usage of your right wrist. The only hard Facts you can compare is when ridding together. I ever thought my Max uses too much Fuel, but when riding together with a Buddie, my Max uses only 0.5 Liters more than the his Max. That's nothing when seeing my big fat Body with all the Weight and Windstopper Qualities, compared too his small Chest and normal Weight. I recently made the Carbs richer by one Turn on the Idle MIcture Screws and my Mileage was getting better than before. Maybe you're too much on the lean Side ?
  18. Hi Dan, congrats on the first short Ride. As is said before, i love it when Plans come togehter !!! Edit ... nice Job on chasing down the other Guy, but whas it necessary to state how easy those 2Gens are to take down ??
  19. A new Side Stand switch and a new Fuse Panel might be the Way to go. Of Course, the starting Issue could easily be the Starter Solenoid also. The slow neutral Switch handlich seems more a Wireing/ Connector Problem than the Switch itself. Since all your Problems seem to be heat related, check and clean all relevant Connectors.
  20. They will present the new Max on Wednesday. Great looking bike, btw I'm quite sure this leads to a new Venture also.
  21. I'm not so much into CB or other Radio Issues, but this sound like a Ground Contact Problem to me. Could be that the CB Unit lost it's own Ground Connection and now pulls Antenna Ground to use.
  22. Vacuum Leaks would cause such a lean Condition. Spray something flamble around the Carb Boots when the Bike is in Idle. If there are Leaks, the Idle will rise.
