  1. I don't know how it is in your Neck of the Woods, but there have been several Members reporting Dealers denying working on such older Bikes. And of Course, who has any Knowledge about these Bikes anymore ?
  2. I don't know how sensitive the 2Gen's are in this Matter, but how in the World you came to that Conclusion in your first Post ? I never would think about a Rider modifying the Airbox on a fairly new(2007) Bike.
  3. If the Tools you mentioned, are metric Tools, why not 'become' a Mechanic. Some Things on these Bikes are not easy to do, but with some common Sense and the People here, you're far away of being alone and left somewhere in the Desert. You turn the Wrenches, we assist with answering any Question which might come up. Regarding the Tire Change, you could find a Dealer which mounts and balances the Tire. You could buy a Tire online, SW Moto or somewhere else and while dismounting the rear Wheel, you could do Maintenance on the Splines, Drive Shaft and Rubber Dampers in the Wheel, check the Bearings and Brake Caliper and Shock Linkage and learn a Lot about your Bike. There is the Workshop Manual to download here in the 1Gen Tech Section. 470 Pages of reading and learning.
  4. Pulling the Headlight isn't that much of Hassle also. At least on my '93. Two Bolts on the Headlight Cover, two Bolts on top of the Light, take the Light out, unplug Lights Connector. There's a big Hole to work in there.
  5. Greg, i've was playing the Excel Sheets today, so i made my own Conversion Table. The Results are different than what you posted in the initial Posting. I used the actual Conversion Numbers down to two Digits. I may be unconvenient, but if you compare, lets take Apples to Apples. Here's my Result in the Attachment.

  7. I'm really thankful that your going into this and the Way you do it. I for one, i'm with you on your Description of what's happening if your cornering a Bike with a C/T on the rear. Exactly your Description is it, that makes a CT wear in den middle more than on the Shoulders. The middle is the Part where the 'flexing' is happening and because it is used always, going in both left and right Corners, it wears out in the middle first. Under minor lean Angles, the Patch Area which is in Contact with the Road may be slightly bigger than with a M/T, but when you increasing the lean Angle, the smaller the Patch Area gets. I won't get in a heated Discussion about this Issue, but i reiterate my Concerns. A Car Tire on a Motorcycle without Sidecar is NOT a good Idea.
  8. I think the Motor of the Pump was stuck. This is a Diaphragm Style Pump, which doesn't make much of Pressure, but only Volume. Like Dan, i'd suspect the Pump at the Moment and wouldn't trust her far. The lower Voltage at the Pigtail could be bad Connection on the Fuel Pump Relay, bad Contacts inside the Fuel Pump Relay and/or bad Connection on the Fuse or a weak Battery.
  9. JT, i don't know what else to say, but i'm with you
  10. That sounds as to be the Bearing inside the Clutch Pressure Plate. Nothing major, one Hours Job for replacing that Bearing.
  11. Is that your polite Way to say that you've spilled all Parts of your Bike all over the Road ? :):confused24:
  12. I've read that Post also, but i think the Guy refered to 'Clutch Oil' meaning changing the Brake Fluid from the Clutch Mastercylinder to the Clutch Slave Cylinder.
  13. let it sit at Idle for some Time and the Fan will kick in, if the Switch works like it should
  14. The Clutch is not sperate. The Plates run in the Motoroil, same as the Transmission and the Middle Drive Gear. One Oil Pan, one Oil for everything except the final Drive.
  15. The Pump on my Max (same Beast as the Venture's Pump) stopped working one Time i had it on the Lift and working on other Areas. Couldn't get it working until i pushed the Wires into the Pump Housing. Then it started working like it should and never has left me since.
  16. I don't know how to tell you, how much i appreciate your Efforts. a big THANKS CONDOR is the least i can do
  17. No, they're not the same. The Kill-Switch(e.g. Run/Stop) is in the right Handlebar. The Ignition Switch is worked by the Key and this is what seems to be the Problem on your Bike.
  18. Well done Dan, really a good Job and i can't wait to hear the Words ... just came back from the first Test Ride, everything is fine and, please watch out for a good straight Stretch of the Road when testing 2nd Gear first Time ....
  19. Not a Problem
  20. one full Size Friction Plate goes around ten Dollars ... now do the Math
  21. Folks, these old Car .... this was mostly before the Catalytic Converter and Lambda 1 ... Also the newer Cars have far more Weight to carry. Safety has improved and therefore the Weight also. Next are the convenient Goodies, AC, Power Windows and on ... Please consider this
  22. Mike, seems a P/O shortcutted the bad Fuel Pump Relay.
  23. The Fuel Pump is pumping for 5 Seconds only, if the Relay doesn't get a Spark Signal. So if you want it constantly to pump, you have to work the RUN Switch on the right Handlebar ech time the Pump stops. The Cam Chains Tensionrs are preset and there nothing to adjust. If they're rattling it might be the Valves.

Yeah, those 'would have been' enough Room for both ... I can assure you, all those Openwheelers are born with such an Attitude, but sometimes it just backfires on them. The real Champions are those who are smarter than the 'average Driver' and back up once to gain the Points. OK, INDY500 is only once a Year, but what have they won both now ?? nothing ... I.E. Montoya was (probably still is) a Hell of a Driver, based on his Formula3000 and F1 Career, but he made me mad more than one Time. The Hero to Zero Game is how he drove there and i could count as much good Races and real fantastic Wins as i could count his Brain Farts which took him out and on a Lot of Occasions some other Drivers too. I was reliefed when he left F1, i just wouldn't see anybody die because of him. Even if i very much respected him for his driving Skills, he NEVER would have been a Champion. Decisions are made at a blink of an Eye, one can't really blame anybody.

The Way i saw this Incident, Briscoe screwed up by getting the Car in the spinning the Wheels, the Mech screwed up, because he shouldn't have sent him out and i'm sure Danica's Car must have had the Brakes not working properly. That why i called this Incident bad Judgement. I'm sure they will have another Oppurtunity next Year. Sincerly, all the People involved wanted to win this Race, but in such a close Situation, it's better to back off one Time than to go on into the dark. She could have passed him later , in no Time, with all the Anger and Adrenaline involved.
