  1. Like Lonna said, you guys behave yourselves. So when I go to the U.K. or Germany I'm gonna see if I can find Lonna a souvenir. It could even be a really neat foreign Coca-Cola Collectable. Hmmmmm
  2. Dan, you are definitely right on that one. If I was going on vacation it wouldn't be Europe and it certainly wouldn't be to any part of the old Soviet Union. Too much of the USA that I haven't seen to worry about thirty different lanquages, a dozen different currencies, and maps and labels that I can't read. I think I'll tour North America first and then for my second tour, do it again. Nothing and nowhere beats what we have right here at home. Raise the flag boys, I'm feeling proud of our country.
  3. Dan & Ken said exactly what I'm up against. So I have to ask these guys, has anyone ever asked you, "If you can't see green, what color is it?" I just love looking at wiring in a circuit and they tell me to hook up the green wire to the white with brown stripe wire. I'm going to get the white right but the other two will be up in the air. If anybody needs any help rewiring their bike, maybe you should give one of us a call. Should be a lot of laughs.
  4. Good to know I still have a few friends still running around on this site. I didn't delay in replying, but a seven hour time difference and a twelve hour day adds up to a slow response. Don't ask me to tell you how many hours that adds up to. Annie, that's a great idea. When I get my schedule I will definitely PM Squeeze to see if it could work out. It would really be something if we could kick back and tell tall tales to each other in the Fatherland. Buddy, always ready to ride with you, if not at he Hub you don't live that far away and Patricia and I will be ready to do some riding when I get back. You might be able to talk me into going out to eat............right, MIGHT be able to. Would love to hook up with you two again. Eck, man I just threw away an almost new Coca-Cola bottle cap. I just didn't know. They still don't have screw off caps here. Hurts like the dickens until you figure it out. Took me twice to figure it out. I will keep my eyes peeled for something that won't trip all of the airport alarms or weight restrictions. See what I can do. Thanks for replying. Good to hear from you again, Jim
  5. I don't post a lot but I think some of my friends will be glad to know that I'm in Europe. I have been in Copenhagen and Budapest for the last week and will stay in Levice, Slovakia for the rest of the month. I will probably take a short trip to the U.K. and visit our office in Germany while I'm here. Don't worry about Patricia, L.A. Pryor said he was on the job. Hmmmmm. Really missing some of the best riding weather in the states, but need a job to do the riding. Already looking forward to the 4th of July. Any good meet & eats planned for then? Jim
  6. Just saw the post and was very glad to hear that all went well. Pat & I really enjoyed our time with you at The Hub and look forward to that Meet & Eat we were invited to. We will keep both of you in our prayers.
  7. Lewis, prayers have been lifted up for Charlene and you. May GOD lay his healing hand upon Charlene and guide the surgeons hands.
  8. Like they have all said, each bike is different. My '88 can be a little tricky in the warmer months if it hasn't been started in a few days. When it gets cooler though, just use full choke and absolutely no throttle. Usually fires up in a couple of turns. Leave choke on for a couple of minutes and enjoy the ride. I have found out that my bike runs down the highway just fine even with the choke still on. Word of caution, they get terrible gas mileage that way.
  9. I'm am not a mechanic, but you also have to remember that these are not cable operated clutches. As such, you should expect to have a little free play with a hydraulic clutch. Does anyone agree with that? Like Randya said, if it shifts without easing the bike forward, you have full release.
  10. Pins look great. I'll take two of the 1st gens. Thanks.
  11. My wife and I are members of the Spoke-N-Word chapter in Piggott, Arkansas. We hope to attend at least one day of the rally.
  12. What he said. DEKA battery solved all of my hot start problems. (I already had the cable upgrade) Good price and great performer. I will definitely buy another one when the time comes.

    New Tires

I have had a Venoms for a couple of years and have loved the way they handled. But at the Hub we found out that they can fail dramatically. The tire didn't go down, but you can see from the pictures that we were very lucky. Shop said they have never seen a tire do that before. May be a one in a million, but take a few extra minutes to look them over before you head out.
  14. Sorry I missed seeing you guys before you headed out this morning, but want you to know that Pat and I are really glad we got to meet you and ride with Mike again. You're both a lot of fun to be around and we look forward to seeing you again. Jim & Patricia
  15. Curtis, I'm still planning on taking a look at your trailer at the rally. Might even post a few pictures just for Squidley's sake. Jim
