  1. Does anyone use the gloves alone, without the vest/jacket, etc.? I was thinking about hippo hands too. My hands are the one part of me that gets cold beyond the comfort range that is acceptable to me. I was trying to imagine running the cord from the gloves to ??? I think normally they plug into the jacket/vest, right? I'm looking for suggestions.
  2. I saw this trailer today. I went back, and back, and back......... Yes I will follow it anywhere. I just hope this thing never drives past any one of our M&Es or MDs or other VR.ORG gettogethers. Can you imagine the carnage???? Poor Big Tom would have all of the 1st gens in front of him........
  3. I did not think that insurance commercials could get any worse, but the new "Taste Test" commercial from GEICO has got to be the worst yet. I just can not imagine a group of advertisement people sitting around approving something like this. RandyA
  4. The people in Belgium are completely insane!! But what a fun place to live! Wouldn't want to try this stunt in the U.S. though. No offence to our below the border friends, but can you imagine what would happen if they did that in New York city or Houston, Texas? What am I talking about? Freedom

A lot of us like riding because of the feeling of freedom....or even "flying". Imagine what this must be like! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgdIE2t8QkM?****
  6. I just can't imagine!!!! I really feel sorry for the kid!
  7. Air Show Brace yourself before looking at the attached image. A pilot at low level has lost control of his aircraft and It narrowly misses the crowd gathered for the air show. It slams into four buildings. You can only imagine the horror of the occupants trapped inside those buildings.See below! http://venturerider.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=52463&d=1291538746 "Probably scared the sh*t out of them!":rotfl::rotfl:
  8. Imagine finding this guy in your deer stand.
  9. Here's a few pics of the back of my V-Star with the added lights. Muffinman has already made it a big lower and I can actually flat foot it. Makes it a lot easier to hold up a bike too, imagine that. He made the turn signals into running lights as well as turn signals. I think it's pretty bright back there now. Margaret
  10. See my ad... http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3052 I imagine the RSTD mufflers would fit ??
  11. I just got back from my first visit to the flight 93 memorial site. There was a lady ( a volunteer ) gave a presentation with pictures of the crew and passengers, giving a little background on some of them. A very moving experience as well as enlightening. She said that they have already archived 37,000 pieces of memorabilia left by visitors to the site. The actual impact area has been declared a mass grave site and is cordoned off. She had an artist's rendition of the future memorial that is supposed to start with a groundbreaking yet this year. If you have a chance to visit this memorial site, you will not be disappointed. I know I'll go back again in the spring and again when the memorial is completed. It's really difficult to explain what is going on right now as the visitors come in in busses, cars, van and motorcycles with many leaving tokens at the site. In walking around I noticed everything from St. Christopher medallions to an allen wrench and anything else you could imagine. Hats, flags, vests and every type of memento you could imagine. Something I wasn't aware of was that as the plane crested the knoll just prior to impact it was 40 feet off the ground, traveling 536 mph and upside down. Parts and pieces were found as deep as 35 feet. I glad I finally made it over there. God bless those heros on Flight 93 !!
  12. Yesterday during a group ride, I ment to throw her in second gear to catch up with the group leader but accidentally put her into first instead. I discovered these first gens have enough power to flip ya on your back. You should have seen the looks on all those HD riders faces. One of them said he could've walked under the front wheel. I could just imagine the look on my face! All I remember thinking was, OH:yikes:SH**! She came down kind of hard. But no damage. Other than some to my shorts. Glad I put in those progressive spring when I rebuilt the frontend.
  13. I was roaming through the Custom Dynamics (www.customdynamics.com) site and noticed that they have a new tail light board. It's a drop in like the one that many of us already use, BUT, it has 100 LEDs instead of the current 32. The 32 LED board is really bright compared to the old bulb, so I can only imagine what the new one looks like. At $90 US it's kinda pricey, but well worth it if that is the only light you are using as a brake light. Just my sick, twisted, unsolicited opinion...
  14. I was sitting on the bike for a minute after getting to work this morning when I discovered that you can use the ignition lock to lock the forks when turned to the right. Why? They sit at such an upright angle when locked to the left that I couldn't imagine locking to the right and walking away from it. I just can't reason why Yammi would go to the effort of drilling an extra hole.
  15. Ok Don is away for a few days, everybody on this site comments on how much they enjoy the chatter and how the site is a positive in their daily lives. How about we say Thanks by filling Dons "inbox" with a bunch of VR Donations, I am sure he would appreciate starting the New Year with the coffers full, and it would be a neat joke to play on him while he is away, imagine his look when he checks his email to find a 1000 donations!! I 'll start it off, whatever you can spare will help the cause, so please help if you can. Thanks Craig:mo money:
  16. leaving shortly for court.i dont think anything significant will go down today...i believe its basically for him to have to make an apearance...im kind of notted up with the thought of seeing him for the first time since that night and i hope Dale is able to control himself when he sees him. Probably no real reason for us to be there other than the fact i want him to have to see us.....to see the looks on our faces.......to feel our presence....i imagine they will set a court date for his bond reduction motion. let ya all know what happens.
  17. Sorry if this is yours, but can you imagine the understeer? file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/RTurley/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg
  18. Just wondering if the bags and trunk from an '86 will connect right up to an '85. I can't imagine retooling for bags that are a little bit larger.

    Indy 500

I know there are a lot of racing fans on this site, so how many of you have attended the Indy 500. It's been a dream of mine for years, but something is always getting in the way. Is it as good to attend as I imagine or is it, as some have told me, better sitting in front of a widescreen in the comfort of your home. Thanks.
